Hm. It's been more than a decade since I applied to colleges, and things have changed a lot in the meantime. But if it's like when I applied, they *do* weigh extracurriculars. They're looking for interesting people, and if your application shows you to be an interesting person, then you're probably in.

I think "eligible" might have something more to do with residence. You live in California?
