I don't get flu shots >o>

BettyBeat 05-27-2010 01:14 AM

Ugh, all this talk about the HPV vaccine makes me happy that I didn't get it. c':

I haven't had to get a shot in awhile.

Golden Goose 05-27-2010 01:14 AM

HPV vaccine doesn't even guard against all strains, because I somehow ended up with dysplasia a full year and a half after I got it. =/

Casiana 05-27-2010 01:15 AM

Apparently the Anthrax shot hurts the worst.

scholar 05-27-2010 01:15 AM

I get regular allergy shots because otherwise I sneeze all the time and it's embarassing to have people think I'm constantly sick.

I got the flu shot this year b/c I work in a college where something like 40% of the students got swine flu, including several people in my classes. I simply didn't want to lose time to illness.

edit: instead, in March I got bronchitis and a touch of pneumonia from a cellist colleague and had to play for a sold-out concert while trying not to cough up my lungs.

Golden Goose 05-27-2010 01:15 AM

There's an anthrax shot?

I was more impressed with the focus on plot this episode.

The whole thing with Kurt's Dad and Finn made me cry.
And the sup was cute.

And Jonathan Groff comes back next episode~ > 3<!!

Yay! About the whole Jonathan Groff.

Yea, that part with Kurt and his father, I started tearing up a little.
I'm glad his father is so supportive of his son.
I know a friend of mine, who is to scared to tell his parents about his sexuality.
It makes me sad how some people are so against something that doesn't even harm them.

Casiana 05-27-2010 01:16 AM

You get it in the military. Along with five billion other ones. That and the Penicillin is mentionable, apparently.

scholar 05-27-2010 01:16 AM

ANTHRAX shots?

I'm allergic to penicillin. What do you mean, "mentionable"?

white2fire 05-27-2010 01:17 AM

I'm gonna poof in and see if I can act like I know what you're talking about. :D

Casiana 05-27-2010 01:17 AM

They were the ones that were the weirdest.

Anthrax felt fine when you initially got it, but as you walked away you almost keeled over from the burning pain in your arm. Penicillin made a giant rock in your butt for a few days.

scholar 05-27-2010 01:18 AM

@white2fire: I lost track several pages ago...

edit: am off to read the FAQ about this event to see what I'm actually supposed to be doing...

BettyBeat 05-27-2010 01:18 AM

Mann, reactions to vaccines are weird. I don't really like the feeling of getting a shot, honestly.

Seraph 05-27-2010 01:18 AM

Right now we are talking about shots.
Anthrax, HPV, etc.

I'm also in a conversation about Glee currently.

Golden Goose 05-27-2010 01:18 AM

I'm allergic to most antibiotics and also Vicodin. FML.

white2fire 05-27-2010 01:19 AM

@anime: Well, I left for a bit. So I'd definitely be lost. ^^;
I just find it odd to jump into conversations. And I like to find new ways to dress up my posts. ^^

Maka-chan 05-27-2010 01:19 AM

hi hi

Casiana 05-27-2010 01:19 AM

MLIA?

anime: I had to read through it, it seems pretty simple tho.

Hi Maka! You look really cute xD

white2fire 05-27-2010 01:20 AM

Oh ew, I hate shots.
Course...I'm overdue on quite a few of them. >_>

@Maka: hello. ^_^

Seraph 05-27-2010 01:20 AM

Hi Maka. =]

Hehe I jump into conversations all the time, even if i don't know what they are talking about. =P

I hate getting shots, I am deathly afraid of needles and blood. >>

Jonathannnnnn. I loved him as Melchior Gabor.

Tis the curse of living in a conservative state: There are so few supportive parents around here.
Makes me sad.

scholar 05-27-2010 01:20 AM

When I discovered that allergy shots meant I didn't have to take a daily pill in order to cuddle my three kitties, I put up with it.

@Maka: Hi hi, did you follow me here?

@Golden: Ouch, that's rough being allergic to most antibiotics. : (

Maka-chan 05-27-2010 01:21 AM

Yea it upsets me.
I mean who wouldn't support their own child?
I know when I have kids, if one of them turns out to be homosexual I will support them all the way.
Its already hard enough to be criticized by others at school or in public, but even worse when parents won't support your decisions.
