Well my internet isn't normally slow.
It takes a few seconds to load a page.

It might just be that I don't have full internet service where I am.

Snowwhite Rose 05-27-2010 01:26 PM

*looks at harem pants and skirt*

I gotta remember to come on and post even when there are no events going on. I seriously wanna earn more gold and buy more stuff.

Four day fiesta?

KidK Mirai 05-27-2010 01:27 PM

That could be. =] Hopefully your connection will pick up soon.

=d Four-day fiesta for...Memorial Day maybe? Or something else?

Oleaceae 05-27-2010 01:28 PM

I don't celebrate memorial day.
Lol.

No, it's the District Convention of Jehovah's Witnesses.
^__^

Seraph 05-27-2010 01:28 PM

I want to get the black mechanic hat.
But I am buying things in the event store with credits.
Only one more credit to go.
It would be easier to earn more seeds/credits but my internet is taking forever to load a single page.

KidK Mirai 05-27-2010 01:29 PM

Ah, okay! ^-^ Sounds like fun, if there's cupcakes involved.

I'm sure it will once I get to class upstairs.
Where there is a bunch of internet signal. =P

Ugh next week I can't bring a bookbag or a purse bigger than half a sheet of paper.
Ugh my school rules for the end of the year are really overboard.

Oleaceae 05-27-2010 01:30 PM

Oh yeah.
I'm dying them, too.
RAINBOW CUPCAKES.
-fwees-

Anyway.
Time to get started!

KidK Mirai 05-27-2010 01:32 PM

=D Good luck with your rainbows, Olea!

Seraph, that's a crazy rule, never heard anything like that before. It's just for the end of the year? o.o Is it some kind of safety issue?

I guess they think its a safety issue.
But really..most people have common sense to not do pranks at the end of the year.
A lot of people actually need their bookbags to carry around all the stuff they have.
Even if it is the last week of school, we do have finals that week. >>
But enh....its our school's stupid rule.

KidK Mirai 05-27-2010 01:38 PM

Yeah I was just gonna say, wouldn't the last week be finals week? I remember I always had to carry around a ton of stuff for finals--books, extra paper, pens and pencils, a calculator, etc. Hmm, well, it's one of those things where I guess if it's meant to keep everyone safer or keep things running smoothly, then it's hard to argue. Still sounds way inconvenient though.

Renee the Rabid Squirrel 05-27-2010 01:38 PM

I loooove rainbow cupcakes. *droools* They're some of my favourites! ^_^ I don't celebrate Memorial Day either, but that's because I'm Canadian, and we have Rememberance Day for that. :P

KidK Mirai 05-27-2010 01:40 PM

Renee, when's Remembrance Day? =o Is it a summer thing too? I'm so deficient in Canadian history, it makes me sad. XD; (Then again, I usually only remember Memorial Day exists because it's usually right around my birthday.)

It is finals week. And I know a lot of people who haven't turned in their textbooks, so they can study for their finals. Along with having notes, paper, pencils, etc.

But it is to prevent people from pulling pranks. But to the majority of the school students it is simply just a huge inconvenience and a hassle.

Honestly...I don't even know much about USA celebrations, etc. And I live there. =P I really don't know much about history of any country besides Britain. XP Mostly due to I love British literature.

Renee the Rabid Squirrel 05-27-2010 01:43 PM

Rememeberance Day is in November. It's always on November 11th, and there's a ceremony and the colour guard comes out and everyone is sad and they play bagpipes and remember the dead who fell in the war, and it's usually winter out which makes it even more solemn. :P

KidK Mirai 05-27-2010 01:43 PM

Ah, the pranks, why I remember back in my day, the seniors always somehow got hold of a bunch of shopping carts and put them in classrooms. Not a terribly harmful thing to do, but I always wondered how they managed to get into the school when it wasn't open, to do it. Strange tradition.

Ah, I see! I have learned something about Canada today. =] Thanks for fillin' me in.

Hmm that is odd.
I wonder what the point of doing that prank was for..
It just makes me wonder.

But at our school, Ive heard of harmful events that happened due to pranks.
Our school is just simply trying to prevent it.
but people always manage to bring things in.
Along with the fact we can drive to school, they can just keep the items in their car.

Renee the Rabid Squirrel 05-27-2010 01:45 PM

See...senior pranking didn't really happen in my city. It seems a more southern ontario/USA/private schools thing? We just didn't have the 'senior prank' at the end of the year like other schools out of our town do.

Although, I think they did assemble a car on the roof at PACI once...lol.

KidK Mirai 05-27-2010 01:48 PM

Yeah I have no idea what the shopping cart thing was supposed to do either. XD I think it was just one of those THINGS that started back in the mists of time that each class just sort of kept up as a tradition. We had a lot of that back at good ol' Holy Cross and most of it was just silly.

XD A car on the roof? That sounds like it'd take some doing.

Renee the Rabid Squirrel 05-27-2010 01:50 PM

You just take it apart, and then assemble it there. Shop class people. That or I'm thinking of my friend's class and just attaching it onto one of my schools. I went to three different high schools back in the day. :P

Snowwhite Rose 05-27-2010 01:53 PM

When I was a senior, at my school, if you had a certain grade point average, or maybe just an A in the class, you didn't have to take the final. In fact, the kids in my classes were mostly out of school for the last four days of the year.

Let me know if this color is hard to read, please.

KidK Mirai 05-27-2010 01:55 PM

Color looks okay to me, Snowwhite. =] My school had a similar policy. Well, it depended on the teacher. Some let everyone with A's be exempt from the final, others let the top five grades in the class out of it, and some just made everyone take it no matter what. I think it gave a good incentive to do the homework and do well on the regular tests throughout the year...also since it usually got me the last week of school off, it was definitely a policy I could get behind.

Renee the Rabid Squirrel 05-27-2010 01:57 PM

That colour's just fine. Yeah, I wasn't exempt from any finals in high school, but in one class in university, I was able to be exempt from the in-class exam and given an automatic 80 due to my good marks and participation, so I was like 'score' and just took it. Then three of us who got exempt waited outside for the hour to see how hard the test was to see if we should have taken it or not, lol! I was glad I didn't waste my time taking it.

KidK Mirai 05-27-2010 02:01 PM

None of my profs in college ever let anyone not take the final. Which was lame in semesters where I'd have like three finals in one day and my hand was super crampy by the end of it. XO (And of course, no one can be exempt from finals in law school, since the final exams are your only grades o_o Evil.)

Seraph 05-27-2010 02:03 PM

Ok I am back again.
I had to go turn in my English book.
I am so exhausted, did not want to come to school today.
