I'm reading Twilight right now so I can understand why they're so famous. I thought I'd be entertained by badness. Or at least romance, since I'm pretty cheesy. I was actually worried I would enjoy them, in a guilty way.
But so far, it's just fucking boring.

No, I'm not gay. I've been bashing Twilight for months and people told me I didn't get to do that until I read it, so when I accidentally got a free copy of it I figured I would.

Edit: I hope the item isn't delayed. I'm much too impatient for it to be delayed.

That makes perfect sense. You need to know what you are bashing before you can bash it. Its like modern politics. A lot of them are arguing in favor for or against simply because of their voting party.

Also I read twilight and I hated it.

I read the host and I liked it.

Honestly, I know a lot of straight guys that have read the Twilight books and liked them. And I liked the books. I dont think a guy has to be gay to like them, either. They have a lot of action in them, too.

@format- We are discussing the failure that it is. If you have a different opinion, I'd love to hear it. It would be like our own book talk.

@Hermes- Though friends are always nice, its fun to not add people onto a list. It constricts freedom and mobility. You wouldn't tie a bunch of ants together because they each need to do their own thing. Also, The Host is another of her books.

Twilight is good, although none of my guy friends read them, and they think the movie sucks. but I totally like it. Sparks people's imagination

I saw the movie first. The movie was terrible. The acting was atrocious, and it barely had a story, not to mention the actual lines were bad and the silly jumping scene looked terrible.
Now I'm reading the books and they also really don't have a story. I'm halfway in and so far we've established that they are in love for no apparent reason, and with no warning either, and there is no antagonist, unless you consider Edward's vampire thirst the antagonist which is weak, especially since he so easily overcomes it.

And Elvilla, isn't a friends list more like giving a bunch of ants a list of who they know to put up in their hill than tying them together?

Twilight would be a decent book if people weren't shoving it down my throat. I am tired of everyone always trying to get me to read it even though I already have. Too many fangirls are squeeing because of Taylor. Personally, Robert played a better Cedric because he died at the end. Harry Potter wins over twilight. Some parts of Twilight were decent. Others not so much.

@Hermes- The antagonist comes in near the end. There is James and that other chick. Then the chick comes back in the second or third I believe. Also, I consider lists a chain.

What kind of antagonist comes in at the end? That means there's no plot. That doesn't make sense!

Format- I used bits and pieces of both.
The movie was poorly made. However when Taylor took off his shirt, all the freakin 11 year old girls are all gaga over him. All that really takes away from everything.

The book was just set up wrong. Like hermes said it lacks a basic storyline. It lacks a villain. It also leaves too much unexplained parts.

@Hermes- Lists are a chain. Think about real life. If you have a friends list, you are expected to be with them like 24/7

Honestly, I don't think Taylor is the best Edward Cullen. He wasn't the way many of my friends and me imagine Edward to be like.

Is that the show that was on monday. Where that one chick got the job offer but denied it for love, but then her lover took the job? If so then sometimes. I like 2 and a half men. I love the big bang theory though.

@format- Taylor played Jacob. he also played Shark Boy in the adventure of shark boy and lava girl. Robert Patternson played Edward in twilight and Cedric Digory in Harry potter.

A normal plot will go intro, initial incident, rising action, climax, falling action, denouement.
So far in Twilight I've reached.... intro? The characters have been introduced. I suppose you could say the action is rising as they get more in love, but there was absolutely nothing I could call an 'incident'.

@hermes: haha, that's true. there is the action though. a little.... but it skips everything else~ = =

I find it amusing that since the Twilight series, there have been a lot of vampire novels sprouting up everywhere. And they all wonderfully help with sating my love for fantasy stories. <3
