Generally I've found that RP's last longer and don't break down or get abandoned if you use proper grammar and spelling. But that's just my experience. ^^;

I have the same problem. Some of them didn't really have a set plot idea, so it didn't work. Another one I was in I joined late and I found my character kept getting excluded. Also, I think one of the characters was god modding a bit. And I did a private RP, but my partner seems to have forgotten about it. And it was just getting interesting too...
