@Wendy -- I've done pretty well in college. I think it's cause the professors tend to just leave me alone and let me do my own thing. I do better when they let me figure stuff out for myself.
I had a little bit of issue in Geography 'cause my professor gave us notes before the lecture, so I figured I had everything I needed & zoned out. I quickly realized my mistake, though, and didn't even look at his notes; I took my own. He thought I was nuts, but whatever. Haha. @Ry -- That sounds awesome! Well, in that case, you better work on it! XD |
@Kid:
I HATE when professors give you their own notes. UGH. I mean, it's one thing if they're giving their lectures VERBATIM from their notes, but most of the time they don't. If they do that, I look at them as a supplemental material and use my own notes from lecture as a first hand source. I trust myself better, I guess. XD Omg, it's RYLYNNE! :D Long time no see!!! |
@Wendy -- That's definitely true. That teacher in particular went off on tangents, and most of the test material came from his tangents.
This is not to mention the fact that brain works in a very round-about way, and the straight-forwardness of the notes kinda confused me sometimes. |
@ Xylia : It is~ :3 <3<3 Right now I've made it past 2 stages. @[email protected];; There's only 4 slots though, and we're still a lot, so, yeah. D: </3
@ Kat : Yup, I shall try, even if my lazy ass despises too much work. xDDD;; @ Wendy : OMG! Long time to see indeed! =O <3<3 *hugglesquish* ^^ Too bad I'm about to leave though! :'< Maybe I'll run into you again soon? :3 Anyhows, guys, time for me to sleep. ^^;; Night all~! :'D <3<3 |

I remember in high school a teacher wouldn't teach us from the book...but the test were based off the chapters....It always a "What chapter are we on now?" When he tell us we are having a test the next day.
|
@Rylynne:
I plan on being here for the event, so as long as you're participating, I'll see you! <3 *Hugs* Have a nice sleep, dear! @Kid: Yeah, I have the same problem with most professors. If they want to give ANYTHING in terms of studying material, just give me a guide saying what will be covered on the exam and let me go from there. @Rei: Lots of my professors are like that. It doesn't bother me that they have their exams based off of their own material, but it DOES bother me that they make us buy three or four HIGHLY PRICED books for the class when we NEVER use them. |
@Rei
That's gotta suck. =/ The professor I was talking about kinda did that. I mean, we had a book, but we didn't use it often, and the things he told us to study for on the first test were not what was actually on the test. I failed it. Hard. But so did everyone else in the class. Half of the students dropped out. But I learned his system. Take that, you fat bastard! |

*sneaks in* Hi ^^
I've learnt more physics in a two hour session with my dad then I did with my physics teacer in 2 years >< I try hard to pay attention, but he's one of those guys where you can't help getting bored and doing something else completely XD |
@Wendy -- Exactly! That's what my Sociology & Psych & OK History professors did. It was very nice. Never got lower than a high B on any of those tests.
|
@Kid:
I feel the same way when you make it through a class an entire semester that EVERYONE seems to drop but you. Happened with a geography course I took freshman year. The guy taught 4000 level weather and climate courses and taught the 1000 level course as such when the subject WASN'T EVEN WEATHER. . . it was LANDFORMS. Needless to say, when I was one of the 50 left, I felt glad that I just made it through the damn class. >_> |
@Remaro -- I refused to take Physics in high school, 'cause the Physics teacher was also my Chemistry teacher, and I missed opinion questions in his class. Science just does not make sense to me, like, at all. I do better in English, history, and culture classes.

hey does anyone need spanners...? i have 6 i dont need.
|
@Wendy -- Geez! I hate that kind of crap!
You had 50 left in your class? I had 5. Haha. I guess the professor wasn't very popular, 'cause there were only 12 kids on the roll, and only 10 ever showed up. If I'd asked around about the dude, I probably wouldn't have taken the course, either. @Ninja -- I do, I do! |
Kid users spanners, I used flowers, anyone here need some gears?
|
@Kid: Lucky! It's compulsary for me till next year, I have my final exams for it in a couple of days, then no more physics for the rest of my life! I'm a mix of both parents, half sciency half creative, so I do well in biology and history and stuff ^^
|
ok here ya go Kid! :D enjoy.
|
@Ninja: I'll go for some spanners too if they're going ^^
|
@Remaro -- You have to take it? That sucks!
At my school, we only had to do Earth Science, Biology, & an elective science course. I did 4 years of science, though, so I could graduate with a "Certificate of Distinction." @Ninja -- Thanks! |
whoa i suddenly have more! where do they come from..? ok Remaro here you are!

@Kid: Try checking on the ratemyprofessors site. Not all the professors from every university are listed, obviously, but it's where I get a lot of my info before taking the class. Tells you average GPA given, student opinions, all sorts of stuff. |
