Pretty sure you need to go and sign up for it...don't think they made much mention of it since you need a key from the box of FFXIII in order to sign up for the FFXIV beta (well the PS3 one)...pretty sure anyone can sign up for PC version without a key.

Hey guys, let's try what Sprocket did, or atleast it's what they did from what I hear, and save up our spanners for one massive attack at a to be determined time. As well as save our gears for said time, so we can repair substantially enough to where a few attacks won't knock us right back down to zero. @ Jester :: You speak so much truth! x' D |

Think they had people within the company do the alpha testing, so nope it's for a special closed beta.

PC version you can just sign up any time.
And I don't think they'll charge you fees for beta testing, that isn't nice at all. <_< |

Yes, we're talking about waiting for the beta. And the PC beta was already set out (first wave...probably will be more). PS3 one hasn't started yet but you can put in for it.

Unless that one he got for I think Thursday (Ithink) was the enclosed beta. But I know the alpha testing he was invited too as well

Alpha testing is usually handled by gamers who know how to break games. Then the beta test is to see how the game handles with players of multiple skill levels.
