lol... it took me a lot of practice to be able to use the tablet... I'm used to pens and pencils and charcoal and stuff.

the only thing I don't like about pencil/paper is it smudges :(

I'm alright with paint and charcoal, those are fun mediums, but I'm best with a pencil. When I had my tablet...I was totally spoiled. I suck with stuff like prisma pens. xD

I played with pastels when I was way younger...

lol... yup... that is a big issue... I really only use pencils for sketches and under drawings now because I'm really bad at keeping art clean. If I do use pencil for other things it's a mechanical pencil and a big pink eraser for me.

I draw so sketchy with pen/pencil that is doesn't even matter if it smudges.

/sigh!

A good way to avoid smudges is to use another sheet of paper to cover areas that have already been drawn. That way, you have something to rest your palm on while drawing and you won't have to worry about your skin picking up the lead. :lol:

...just food for thought just in case this little technique wasn't thought of. ;)

I've seen painters who support their hand with a stick or something, to keep it off the canvas.

Yeah... I've tried that. I still manage to smudge somehow... usually pretty badly too. U_U it's a curse. lol

When I used to do make-up for the opera, I had to support my arm on my other arm to keep from smudging their face. *lolz*
