My friend went to LA. She wasn't impressed. Also, the west coast stole her boyfriend...not in a good way.

Kamarie~Logos 05-29-2010 01:37 AM

I couldn't live like that, I'm living in city limits right now where I'm at, and I consider this place to be too small and boring. Not that there's anything wrong with country living, just that I grew up in city world so that's what I'm used to. Just too much for me to adjust to.

Oregon was ranked in Forbes magazine as the most environmentally friendly and cleanliness state =] BEAT THAT

Now THAT I can get behind! I live in VT right now...pretty green state but they don't want to put wind energy stuff up because it's an eyesore. Pretty lame, VT!

Man....just you guys, never live in Alabama...the place is awful

Noted! haha

Amelia Ivanov 05-29-2010 01:39 AM

Depends on where you go in LA... It's more for the Hollywood types. Further up into northern California all the way up to British Columbia Canada, the scenery is some of the best in the United States (save for Yellowstone, that place is simply breath taking)

Poke'Bro 05-29-2010 01:39 AM

I live in a city thats around portland. Downtown Portland is too busy.
But whatever, visit it when your older. I've been told that not alot of young people appreciate the beauty of Oregon. Most families move here in the 30+ age when they are looking for the best place to actually live.

Is Old Mystic different than Mystic? Mystic ROCKS, btw.
There are like, two of them? I think part of regular mystic is called old mystic because the poeple there are weird or something. Idk. it didn't make any sense to me, either.

We have the RI shopping mall and the original thirteen colonies (you newbies) and the statue of liberty, and uh.. THE NATION'S CAPITAL!?!?!

Did you hear that? That was the sound of Uncle Sam giving you a good, old-fashioned pwn.

Amelia Ivanov 05-29-2010 01:41 AM

I have to agree with Poke, I didn't appreciate the scenery of Oregon until I moved away and realized how unimpressive nature is compared to what I had in Oregon o.o

Chibes 05-29-2010 01:41 AM

Lol my sister came back and my baby niece now has earrings ^^ I missed a lot in the mean time ^^

Ode 05-29-2010 01:41 AM

Yeah, I'm sticking on the East Coast cause all my people live in Jersey/New York/CT/VT, and friends up here too... so out of all of them I think I'd move back to Vermont. It's another one of those "no one appreciates it when they're younger but all move back to have families." Pretty liberal in some areas, but then you get the d-bags with their "take back Vermont" stickers... *ranting*

Seriously? Windmills aren't that bad to look at.

Amelia Ivanov 05-29-2010 01:42 AM

I mean, the east coast is nice for visiting, but have you actually met people who live in the DC area? They think it's horribly overrated, most are there mainly for military are for politics

Ode 05-29-2010 01:43 AM

Kamari - yeah, I know, right? They're actually kind of cute. But whatever. VT also doesn't have any advertising on the roadways, which IS nice. Of course doesn't bring much revenue to the state, but that's what ski season is for.

CrownofEblan 05-29-2010 01:43 AM

Vermont? Is /beautiful/ in the fall.

ANd, yes, I do realize that D.C. is inhabited by politians, and by nature they aren't friendly people. I'm not saying you should live there (those poor masochists) but have you walked around some of those monuments. It's awe-inspiring.

Incorrect! Most of those in DC are homeless.

Our nations capital sucks.

Forsaken Eyes 05-29-2010 01:44 AM

Hello! I decided to make the most of getting items, so I wanted to come chat somewhere :D

Ode 05-29-2010 01:44 AM

Emma, we're having a war about the east coast vs west coast. Pick your poison!

Forsaken Eyes 05-29-2010 01:45 AM

west Coast!!!
Sun n fun, baby!
But right now we're not having much sun :(
But yes, west coast.

Quantum Angel 05-29-2010 01:46 AM

I am neutral. I have lived on the west coast all my life, and have never been to the east coast. I am unable to compare.

Kamarie~Logos 05-29-2010 01:46 AM

Well, at least my apartment has been weatherized. Now my utilities bill has been drastically cut down, saving me more money becaue I'm using less gas and electricity. It's a step in the right direction.

Forsaken Eyes 05-29-2010 01:47 AM

Have you been, Crown? My god, it's horrible. I think they managed to push them out of the city limits, but that's no way to solve a problem.

Yeah, my junior year trip to DC was more of a public service to spot homeless money* than to have a school trip.

*at 16 I didn't know you're not supposed to give homeless money

Elvilla 05-29-2010 01:49 AM

Last November I went to DC. I liked it but I would never move there. I also went to Charlottesville, North Caroline. I like that side of the country. The desert is boring. Growing up in living in the mountains in Colorado. I liked it but it was so expensive.

Kamarie~Logos 05-29-2010 01:49 AM

I'm neutral. I just like city living, but I choose California because I know people there, not because I think it's a better place.
