Harley: Hahaha, Shakespeare the pimp. xDD Some of his sonnets are a bit eyebrow-raising.
Aw, bye Zivvy, bye Ode. ;; |
People don read Shakespeare because it is not immediately understandable to them. They are lazy- or just don't like it. Not everyone digs iambic pentameter and all
|
Night Filip.
You'd better tell my fiance before we elope. NIGHT ALL. REMEMBER TO DO MISSIONS! |
Good night ode. Sleep well.
|
It's not really that hard to understand, you just have to take it slowly and concentrate. And I find visualizing everything helps. Although sometimes it can be difficult to know if a character is joking or not but usually you can figure it out..
It is a lot more fun to read Shakespeare out loud though, with a bunch of people. I read Romeo and Juliet with a friend of mine, we each acted out a handful of characters. It was a lot of fun. |
Gaiaonline sucks. Also I am not spying on you. I want to make sure you don't say smack about me.
|
I really like The Tempest. Think its my fave.
|
Good night, Ode.
Pumi, that is the unfortunate reason that MANY classics end up putting people to sleep. They are simply too lazy to understand the writing style; they only understand modern speech. In extreme cases, speak one sentence to them without a modern slang term and they will have no clue what you just said. |
WE'RE SAYIN' SMACK ABOUT YOUUUU
|
Meh. Screw you guys. I'm going home. And I am going to go play portal.
|
The Tempest. I started reading that one but never finished. Although the reason that I started it was because someone recommended it to me.. hmm. I should really get around to finishing it..
|
Sometimes people just have a hard time getting used to the older English used. I've never really had a problem with it, but I knew a number of fellow students who didn't know what was going on at certain points when they first read it.
We usually read scenes in class, too. xD Some of the kids were in the theatre group, too, so it would vary from normal reading to really silly, dramatic ones. |
I, am so lost. x.x;
|
Elvilla: Were you stuck on the level where you are first introduced to drowning hazards?
If so, I believe I can help. |
Trolllzzzzzzzzz.
Unfunny trolls and therefore inexperienced trolls. Learn to be better at your trade, gawd. |
My boyfriend doesn't even have the patience to watch Gone With The Wind with me, let alone would he sit through Shakespeare! I don't blame him though... he is ESL.
|
.. Gone With the Wind looks lame.
|
god we aren't trolls :c
we were spyin' but only in a very silly fashion i thought we were bein' pretty obvious about our lack of seriousness. |
Goodnight to those who are sleeping.
I will be back in a few hours, including a rest after lunch. see you later. |
I would like to know that you're pretty much the only person who doesn't think we're funny.
:( |
I havent read any in years, but I used to read a lot of it. I just have to get back into the swing of it and I enjoy it a lot. It is like this reading Chaucer or the Decameron. Even Poe and TS Elliot are very different from what we write these days and take a little switch mentally.
|
GWTW is one of the best movies! I swear I'm not old! It breaks my heart, yet makes me stronger, every time I watch it.

@Amani- I am playing the flash version online. And it is level 9. It says infinite loop.
|
Except that clearly you're bothering her and then admitting that you're saying rude things about her, and in effect making her leave. Yeah, you're trolling.
And I doubt these other people think your funny, don't be naive. -.-; |
