ah sounds like a good job that wont go anywhere. as in it wont dry up

Chikuma 05-31-2010 05:38 AM

That sounds cool DariaMorgendorfer.

GrannyJ 05-31-2010 05:39 AM

Oh, that sounds like a wonderful service, Daria.
I remember that we had home health for my mother in North Dakota before she had to go into the nursing home.

DariaMorgendorfer 05-31-2010 05:40 AM

Hopefully, I'll see a lot of improvement in a short period of time! I get to give great tips like "don't carry heavy items, put them on a rolly cart and roll them"
Smart stuff but not what you normally think to do ya know?

Lunna Dea 05-31-2010 05:40 AM

ah yes

GrannyJ 05-31-2010 05:41 AM

My mother had a walker, and my brother built a little shelf for it, so that she could place items on the walker and take them around.

scholar 05-31-2010 05:41 AM

Wow, Daria, that's a great thing to do. Do you enjoy it?

Chikuma 05-31-2010 05:41 AM

I like it, sounds like a worth while endeavor. Then again I think anything that helps others is a worth while. I wish you the best ^-^

DariaMorgendorfer 05-31-2010 05:41 AM

That's a great idea Granny!

Nanenna 05-31-2010 05:41 AM

That sounds pretty cool, Daria. People who help other people like that are just amazing.

Lunna Dea 05-31-2010 05:42 AM

it is sad that family's do not help their elderly parents that much any more.

DariaMorgendorfer 05-31-2010 05:42 AM

@Anime, well I have been working with kids all my career, so this is quite a shift...I won't know till I try it, but I'm excited to try the change...and to not have to worry about getting bit or scratched!

Mehimaru 05-31-2010 05:42 AM

Question. Anyone here good with relationships? I mean good with relationship advice?

Lunna Dea 05-31-2010 05:42 AM

what grade do you work with now?

GrannyJ 05-31-2010 05:43 AM

I don't know, Daria.
`laughs`
Some of us older people can get pretty cranky!

DariaMorgendorfer 05-31-2010 05:43 AM

LOL let's hope not that cranky Granny!

@Gypsea, birth to 22. The schools are usually though 3-22.

Hmm, I wonder if dentures scar as bad as real teeth do! (kidding, mostly)

Actually that is why I am with my parents. My father is older, in his 70s, and he has had a heart attack. My mother has various problems. I help them out with many things and plus it means I don't have to live alone. I love my family. It is sad that most people think if you are with your parents past 20 you are a bum or something.

Um, if your crying more than your happy, end the relationship?

ElysiumFate 05-31-2010 05:45 AM

*Sigh* I just put 33 gears into the machine and they've already been spannered away. :XP

It's true. People really don't help out the elderly much anymore. After 70 it's ship them to a retirement home and hope that they don't live to a hundred. (Sorry to be blunt, but it's a true and sad fact.) *Shakes head*

scholar 05-31-2010 05:45 AM

@Mehimaru: I'm pretty good, if I say so myself.

Regarding elderlies: It's a tough decision. When my paternal grandmother became too ill for my grandfather to look after her, he put her in a home; and he went himself when his senility became too much. Same thing happened with my maternal grandmother -- we simply couldn't do everything she needed.

I work in several schools, with a lot of different aged kids....Not one grade;)

Mehimaru 05-31-2010 05:46 AM

Daria, It's more complicated than crying. I don't cry much any more. And anime, if I told you some stuff, do you think you could give me a bit of advice possibly??

Chikuma 05-31-2010 05:47 AM

Well everyone has reasons for what they do and where they are. I just get frustrated when people automatically assume the worst of you.
