Doesn't really happen around where I live, Not a very populated area, so kitties are for the most part safe here.

Chikuma 06-04-2010 09:27 PM

I have not but my friend has all of her books so I may move on to something else of hers after I finish this book

Guivre 06-04-2010 09:28 PM

Cool, Chi. I haven't read any of that series but I just sneaked a look at it on Amazon and the cover looks so nice and eastern influenced. =D Maybe I'll pick up Storm Warning on the way home.

Hi Kings. =D

GrannyJ 06-04-2010 09:29 PM

I love to re-read her books. I have not gotten any of the latest.
I need to peruse the book club again.

Hello Guivre! I'm glad you are enjoying your apartment!

Chikuma 06-04-2010 09:29 PM

It's good to read the previous books about that world Guivre but it isn't necessary. If you pick it up let us know what you think k. ^-^

that is her newest in the Valdamar series.

Chikuma 06-04-2010 09:30 PM

Oh wow she added more?! That's awesome. I'll definitely have to read it. Thank you for letting me know.

Reading for enjoyment would be nice! I've thought about getting a kindle or iPad so that I can read without having to worry that my son destroying books. He's 19mo now and loves to tear paper.

Today, I went to the lab for my internship. To my horror, I discovered that I need to make up about 5 hours next week so I can keep to my work schedule. I start a class on Monday for advanced archival management. Super nerdy, but I've found my niche!

Guivre 06-04-2010 09:31 PM

Oh, that's very exciting. I haven't really paid so much attention to what books have been coming out, it's nice to know there's a whole bunch out there by an author I like.

Elmira, that sounds very nice. It does sound nerdy, but kind of fascinating too. =D

Lunna Dea 06-04-2010 09:33 PM

Lackey came out with it about a year ago I think. it is to have more in its set.

Xxbl00dyxangelxX 06-04-2010 09:33 PM

I was thinking kindle for college, but half my text books arent on it, so now I'm thinking ipad.

Chikuma 06-04-2010 09:33 PM

I read quickly when I am reading for fun. When I read something for study I tend to take a long time because I dissect everything, lol.

Yeah it is always nice to find out a good author has a lot of material to read. One of my favorite authors has like three books in total.

who is that?

GrannyJ 06-04-2010 09:34 PM

I have often thought about those electronic books, but I so much enjoy cuddling up with a nice comfy blanket, and reading. Books just feel more comfortable.

Kings Anointed 06-04-2010 09:35 PM

-has all the tools twice- Glad I looked back at the HQ thingy lol

Xxbl00dyxangelxX 06-04-2010 09:35 PM

I get the feeling I wouldn't like reading electronic books very much either, but it is more portable. If i could get my college text books, it'd be cheaper..and easier to carry around!

Chikuma 06-04-2010 09:35 PM

I will have to see if my friend knows about it or not. She is usually pretty good about getting all of her books

Karin Lowanchee. She writes SciFi. Just informing people that her books contain either hints or detailed homosexual activity if that is not something you like.

and a paper back can be read in the tub where an e-book can not. also some of those e-books cost the same as a hard back. I dont think the author is seeing that extra money, and they dont need to charge that money.

GrannyJ 06-04-2010 09:35 PM

Even in college, I would have preferred the regular books.
I would highlight items.

Chikuma 06-04-2010 09:36 PM

I'm with you GrannyJ I like having a good ol book in my hands.

GrannyJ 06-04-2010 09:36 PM

I also love the smell of a book.

Xxbl00dyxangelxX 06-04-2010 09:36 PM

kindles and ipads allow you to highlight and annotate, another reason I would prefer them, because I don't like the idea of writing in my text books.

I love love love the smell of new books.

Chikuma 06-04-2010 09:36 PM

Same here Granny!

Kings Anointed 06-04-2010 09:37 PM

O_O Nothing like a new book smell. Or that of fresh rain. Mmmm

Guivre 06-04-2010 09:37 PM

I'm also a big fan of staring at the illustrations too, I just don't feel that would be the same as an electronic book. I do think the kindle is pretty cute, though and would be helpful considering I have limited space. ._.
