I think the Kindle vs Real Book is all based on opinion. Personally I prefer a real book but it's what I like.

Xxbl00dyxangelxX 06-04-2010 09:38 PM

I think I would miss the feel of turning the pages of real books.

tirethminet 06-04-2010 09:38 PM

i prefer old book smell. p:

I think they would be helpful on a trip, where you are limited to the amount and weight of things you are bringing.

I llove to read on the airplane, but so many books are heavy.

any one here seen the movie or read the book 84 Caring Cross road?

Chikuma 06-04-2010 09:39 PM

Kings Anointed 06-04-2010 09:39 PM

Xxbl00dyxangelxX 06-04-2010 09:40 PM

I have never heard of that book/movie.

GrannyJ 06-04-2010 09:40 PM

No, I have not.

AlbaRosaria 06-04-2010 09:40 PM

I read something above about books and ipads above... I prefer books, nothing compares to books. Especially old books. I love that scent that comes from a vintage book. :D

Haven't heard o' that one, what is it about?

GrannyJ 06-04-2010 09:40 PM

Hi Alba, I love your avi. Very pretty.

Chikuma 06-04-2010 09:41 PM

I've done better this power hour than I did last time. Even managed to use all of my spanners.

Sounds different.

GrannyJ 06-04-2010 09:41 PM

I have a few spanners to use, but I seem to manage all right.

AlbaRosaria 06-04-2010 09:42 PM

Thank you, Angel!

Chikuma 06-04-2010 09:42 PM

Hopefully I can get a few more seeds to sort of even out the number

GrannyJ 06-04-2010 09:43 PM

A set is 51 seeds, correct?

Guivre 06-04-2010 09:44 PM

Oh, I've seen that Gypsea -- my mother loved that movie.

Coming back to the thread and reading through. iPads let you highlight?? Most of the books I need for school are grad level or specific to my (hopeful!) profession, so it's sounding more like an iPad would be more ideal. I prefer books to reading electronic documents/books, but I also have a HUGE collection of books from school that we don't have room for and I can't get rid of.

I read a few of Lackey's books when I was younger and living at home. My folks love her, so we had pretty much everything right there. I miss that.

Chikuma 06-04-2010 09:45 PM

I do agree what an iPad and such would be useful for school. It does it annoying when you have to haul all the books around.

Sovie Kays 06-04-2010 09:45 PM

I've been meaning to read Mercedes Lackey, if that's who you're talking about.

Xxbl00dyxangelxX 06-04-2010 09:45 PM

you might have to download either stanza or kindle on an ipad to highlight, I'm not sure if their main reader can or not, but I know I use stanza on my itouch and I have been annotating Dante's Inferno a lot.
