Ok I'm annoyed now >.<
I think someone is stealing our Internet connection because every so often for the last few months the internet would go down, but it would say it lost it's connection but the main box would still have connection. Which if it has connection then our computers should have connection to the internet.
I wish we had a blocker or password or something because I'm tired of being kicked off the internet every 10 minutes. DX Have you guys ever had to deal with this? Any Solutions for this? if this is the wrong forum for this, feel free to move it to the right spot. edit: it went down again, this is getting old. |
Well what kind of internet do you have...?
|
You should talk to your internet company about the issue. It's the best way to get a solution for the issue you are having. And if it's something that cannot be dealt with over the phone, someone should be able to come out and help you out :3

You should call your internet provider about the outages. It may just be your internet. I've never actually heard of your internet going down completely because of other people on your connection. It can cause it to run a bit slower, but it shouldn't completely shut you down. Either way, getting a password for your internet connection is pretty easy. I'm sure they can help you set it up.

I think it could just be your internet or whatever. Because our internet use to have this problem but that was because our internet was connected to one server and that was my brother server. I have no idea why they connected it there. Anyways, we have comcast and it is the blast. :D So check your internet and call for some help if you want to know why. ^^

well it's our local company. which is a cheap internet connection in the first place.
but the thing is usually if it's related to the company problem/ just our internet we have a box that has lights on it and the lights will shut off if the internet goes down that way (because it has down that several times before too). but when this disconnection happens the lights are on. We have called the internet company about it before and they say there is nothing wrong on their end and they have come out to switch boxes and it's still happening. So we know it's an interference of some kind. We are planning to get the company to come out again and have another look at it and I think we are going to see if we can get a password set up because the internet dying all the time is getting to be a pain. |
Internet.
You can probably see if someone is on your internet or not. Go to the start menu, then network, and it will show the names of all the devices connected to your internet. If you see something on there you don't recognize, chances are it could be a neighbor's computer.

I think you can set up a name and password for your internet. I'm not sure how it's done, but my father did that for our wireless internet.
But this is only if you have wifi. I've only had wifi and dial-up in my life. Thank god for no more dial-up business. |
I'd call the company and try to have a password set up.
I just recently switched to wireless and my dad put up a long obnoxious password to avoid that type of problem. |
