Haha, that's exactly what I'm thinking.
:3 I'm hoping to travel a bunch by myself too. No responsibilities or worries besides myself! Bahahaah. ...^ is that selfish? D: |
*is warm and dry now*
Hoorays! Yeah, Windy, it's *good* for you to be focused on your needs now. |
It's not selfish at all. This is the time FOR you to focus on you and only you. When it's time to settle down you'll be ready to do so.
One of my instructors put off having kids until her 30s because of that. She said her 20s were all about her, and she wanted to get the best out of life before focusing on kids. She... definitely got a lot of excitement in her 20s by the stories of her escapades and grad school stuff. :XD She was one who did documentaries. Some of the groups of people she interviewed were kinda scary. Cool, but scary. But anyway, rambling aside, don't feel selfish!! |
/aims a hair-dryer at Steel
FIREEE! xD<3 Haha, that makes me feel better. :3 Chi + Steel + Izumi, I wish you guys were my parents. ;_; |
We can be adoptive parents! \D:/
|
What's " \D:/" supposed to be? o-o?
I wish so much. D: You guys are all really kind and loving. My parents are asian. 'Nuff said. |
Flailing, I think. \ / being the arms. XDD
Aww. ;_; |
Meh, Asian parents just show love through expectations. 'Sides, I'd be a crappy real parent. I'm a great mentor, though! *huggles*
|
Well, I appreciate my parents for what they've given me.
It's because of them I'm super good at whatever I end up doing (sports and music wise - I still suck at academics xD!), and I've had a lot of opportunities to try basically whatever I want. Lots of experiences. :] But I wish I could try out familial love for once. |
Maybe some day they'll figure out how to give you that. Until then we'll be your huggy family.
|
That has to be hard. :( I mean like you say, it's good to have grown up with a lot of opportunities, but feeling like you've missed out on bonding and more emotional support must really be lonely sometimes.
|
I want to visit you guys someday. T_T
I don't remember the last time someone said "I love you" in my family. And I never get hugged or anything. It used to be really lonely, but ever since I met up with my boyfriend, it's been loads better. :] He gives me a lot of hugs and kisses. >w< |
You can visit me any time, honey, as long as you can handle Texas. :XP
*hugs* |
I'm planning to go traveling before I go to college. :3
Or at least visit a couple of states or something. I'm in California, so Texas'll be a new experience. >w< |
Haha. True that. Definitely more conservative here. Though it's more open minded in the place I'm at.
|
If you visit Maine, make sure it's in the summer or you'll freeze to death! :XD
And I'm glad your boyfriend is helping things. Having someone to snuggle usually does. My husband is great for snuggles. |
Yeap! :3 Cept my boyfriend's so incredibly skinny, it's not as comfy. But there's this one spot near his collarbone/shoulder that is just perfect for my head to fit in. <3
Didn't Texas pass some stupid thing that said they were going to take Jefferson out of their history books, and pretend that separation of state and church didn't exist? @[email protected] |
Yes. Idiotic move. Makes me want to string up the board of education.
|
I recall reading about the Jefferson being removed from history books.
I'm not sure how much history books vary, but my college history classes were awesome in comparison to anything in grade school and high school. It was nice to see history from a raw perspective and not one that was watered down. (Meaning that the two classes I had taught the good AND the bad of all sides throughout the years, not just the good.) |
SAME.
Oh my goodness. xD My boyfriend was reading about it when I called him, and he went on a good half-hour rant about it. xD I don't understand how it'd even work. Are they just going to trash all the history books? x_x |
Probably. :( And spend a lot of money making new ones. Sigh.
|
I really hope that no other states follow Texas...cause there are some super conservative states out there still. @[email protected]
|
The problem is that Texas doesn't *make* the history books. National publishers do. And Texas is the largest purchaser of history book in the US. Sooo, it's likely that at least one publisher (and there aren't many...Macmillan and Mcgraw-Hill are the two majors) will probably follow Texas's plan....which means at least a few other states will be forced to join Texas based on their normal purchases. :/
It sucks when the weirdos have the power. |
That makes my stomach hurt, really, but you're right. I hadn't thought about it from a publishing point of view.
|
Yeah, it's pretty horrendous. It makes me fighting mad.
