if you buy copics they're refillable
they're more expensive at first but when you buy a refill it will refill your pen like 7-10 times apparently >> im going to start buying copics as my prismas fry out ---------- and the art store i go to does a student discount :P i get 10% off which helped in the long run ---------- i have 85 markers XD |
Ahhh I didn't even know that, I guess I should probably "shop around" and find out what's cheaper or at least more cost effective.
My bf is in uni, so I'm sure I could always get him to buy them his student discount is crazy I totally forgot about that lol but now that you brought that up I'm so going to ask him. 85 O_O_O -falls over- |
all different colours too :D i buy a few everytime I'm there
|
Man o man that's crazy! But I suppose if you're only buying a few each time it doesn't seem like soo much until you actually take stock lol
|
and copics are usually a few dollars more then prisma's right away but the refill make them more cost efficient in the long run
---------- i tend to buy 5-7 each time so its only like 40$ each trip |
Yeah totally... if you can refill them then it makes sense to spend the little extra. At least that way you dont' have to trash the marker later
|
Yeah, the only downfall was some of them were muuuuch older, some were close to the drying out stage. I had to check some of them before buying them just to be safe, but even those I'm still able to eek color out of! lol! BEST investment ever... I think I payed, total, about $40... and that's because I bought 30 the first time, then went back and bought a few more.
But yeah, like Alexa said, Copics are the MUCH better investment. Could never get up enough cash to buy them like I needed to, and there aren't ANY art stores around here that would conceivably carry them. Bad enough I have to travel 30-40 minutes outta my way to get any form of art supply... >_< Needless to say, I've learned to make due with really cheap stuff, hehe! |
the art store i go to as an amazing supply of markers
---------- and its only a 5 minutes bus ride away |
Oh wow, well sounds like me the closest art supply place here is in the city a decent 45 min away from me, but since I'm moving into the city this July it'll be a lot easier for me to get there.
This is the place I buy my stuff from : Artists Emporium They're normally ridiculously helpful and nice there as well. I'm suppose to go check it out tomorrow and buy a few things, maybe I'll get a few copics >.< |
I really wish we had art supplies nearby, but in the same way, I'm sorta glad I've had to go through this. Makes one think outside the box for how they can use other materials and such. Hence why I use so much copy paper for sketches and cardstock for bristol board. And how I've learned the best uses for Crayola markers, which is kid stuff, hehe!
Nearest art store here is a Michaels. |
i live in a pretty small town well small city lol and i live pretty much downtown which helps
eh Michaels is expensive XD |
Don't think I've heard of Michaels
|
@ Alexa: Yep, small town here, lol! We have farms, yo!
And Michaels is soooo expensive... =sighs= |
its a huge chain XD lots of craft supplies
---------- we have farms on the island but not in the city :D |
Ahhh we probably have someone somewhere in teh city, but I prefer going to artists emporium they pretty much have everything, and it all seems to be pretty much teh competitive price.
Anyywhooo I g2g for a bit, have chores and training to do, and then ARTS dun dun daaa... I'm hoping to finish the first 5 in the slot b4 bed tonight... so going to cram 20 hrs worth of work in about 8 ... lol well try anyway >.< Take care guys, bbl :) |

I RISE FROM THE GRAVE.
Hyallo. |
Sorry I ran off, I was playing in the Gallows. I won the round again. ^_^ I'm really hoping I'll be able to win.
My secrets, though? Uhm...my only 'secret' is owning a nose and using it plenty. Of course, medicinal blends of herbal teas is something else again, and I need a very thick book of herb lore to be able to make those, and my 'secret' is using the book. Though I do know that there's a red berry that grows in China that has more of the antioxidants and vitamins than most multivitamin pills, but I can't remember what it's called. It tastes -really- nice, too. I'd swap those out for sweets any day, but I can't get them here. |
@ Bejamin: harooooooo!!
@ Cricket: I wish there was a place around here that sold tea leaves... I have to content myself with what I can get at the grocery store, and believe you me, that doesn't always jive. >_> |
Heh, depends on the store you go to, I suppose.
And please call me Sensible or Sense. Cricket is somebody else. ^^;;; |
There's really not much of a selection here in most things.
Np, hehe! |
Yeah, really. I live in a small town where people are outnumbered by sheep! Fortunately we just got a new New Age store. :3 Thank God~

I am kinda back, feeling as tired and sick as ever, since I couldnt fall asleep. *sigh*
