Connecting Mene to facebook? Sounds pretty cool to me! Though even if it weren't permanent, it would still be a cool feature to like something and not have to reply to it if we don't want to. I know some forums have the "thanks" button that you can do on individual posts and stuff so it would be kind of similar to that? Dunno.

I "like" this idea.... I know some of the topics on here would interest my friends... even if they weren't on menewsha.

It's kind of a cool idea, but really doesn't do anything for me, as none of my Failbook friends uses Mene... I don't think. xD

I am liking this topic to show my support :heart:.

One of the things I like about an avatar site is the anonymity (anonymousness if that's incorrect) of the individual, so to have the feature like that which would then be linked with facebook with which is not anonymous as such kinda defeats the fun. IF that makes sense.

I get what you are saying, but 1) users could if they so desired connect it to an account that is associated only with Menewsha, and 2) it is only for those who wish to share it that don't mind the facebook account being linked.

Also, does it really reveal the person to Menewshans?

I'm not really into this feature, to be honest. It's not something I'll ever use. I don't have any Mene friends on Facebook or visa versa, so liking something here would only amount to feed spam for me. Other people seem to like it a lot, so if it sticks around I can just ignore it, but I have to say that seeing the Facebook logo all over the place (around the web that is) is starting to get pretty annoying to me, so I'd rather not have it here on Mene too.

I do like the idea of it, but I also enjoy keeping my FB accounts separate from those I use to RP with.

I don't have Facebook and (if all goes well), never plan to, so this feature doesn't effect me at all. But I have to say, my first impression went something like, "Oh no! Ads?" Not that they are ads (I don't think), but that sort of juxtaposition of Mene and an outside site was not something I expected to see.

I think it would be interesting in case I run across an interesting topic in the GD and I might want to share it with my FB friends. I know someone posted in the GD about ninjas saving a guy from a mugger. That is the kind of thing that I would "like" on my FB. XD

Whether or no the gold incentive is needed or not. Probably not needed, but who doesn't like another way to get gold? As long as it's properly managed, but judging by your later posts on the front page it looks like you've already put some thought into that.

Guests can view anything they'd like but can't post anywhere without registering. I've been kicked from my browser deleting cookies and had no problem catching up on a tread that was stored in my remembered tabs.

*nods* the link between is more of a benefit to us than a benefit to facebook imho. I feel there are a lot of advantages we can gain from leveraging facebook such as simplified signup and sign sign-in that we might take advantage of at some stage.

Yup, they can, they just can't respond. I might have to look into giving non-logged in users a way to respond using their facebook account though.
