@ Seito: I hve a mate who has done just that, brought science, mechanics, logic etc to the magic world. It destroys the illusion and the fun behind it all i feel, but at the same time, does make it understandable how something is acheived and how, in a RP situation at least, it can be countered by someone else.

I don't mind logic. Logic is nice. But I will admit, I fail at applying the rest of it. It is really nice to understand something and be able to counter it.

@ Seito: Yeah, the logic side of it for an RP is good, knowing the mechanics of how an ability works etc, gives other people and opponents the ability to figt back, but at the same time, it overly complicates, and takes the fun out of doing something for the pure fun of it. I like being able to just 'do' stuff, not have to explain where the energy for this or that comes from, how it is created, channelled etc, and how it affects things.

Exactly! I mean it's nice and all, but really it just goes over people heads most of the time. No one except hardcore fans who will sit there and dissect the story would not only understand it but remember it. Doing stuff is fun. I much rather given a short explanation as to why it's possible but not the entire analysis of the whole system. @[email protected]
