Meeting of the Gods ((O/A!!!))
 

20 years have passed since the last meeting of the ‘Greats’. Wait, what and who are the ‘Greats’ you ask? Oh my dear child, you should know this but I suppose you were only a wee little thing if you were even around the last time the meeting was. Here, let me explain.

Six nations, six different elements and the gods that rule them. Every 20 years the royal families all join together in a mystical garden. This garden only blooms during the time of this meeting and it is during these meetings that peace negations are continued, or at least attempted. The King and Queen from each nation come with their children, children that they have plans of wedding soon. Each of their children is bound to their future spouse from one of the other kingdoms. Yes, my dear one, that means your spouse has been chosen for you as well.

These marriages seem to be the only thing that keeps the nations at peace with one another it seems. The daughters of every king are to be wed to the sons of their dominant element. Confusing I know, but it will all be explained to you shortly. My dear child, you do not look very happy about this. You must listen to me. You cannot fall for another that is not destined for you. If you fall for the wrong person, well, we won’t talk about that right now. You should be getting ready, the King and Queen will come to get you and take you to the gathering soon.

What wasn’t told to you was the power that came with these marriages. The submissive power does not show up in their children. That means an earth king and his water queen have their children, those children only have earth abilities, not water. It is a way to keep everyone in check through powers and in keeping everyone in somewhat agreeable terms. Yet, you are young, why would you want to listen to your parents when you are being forced into such a situation? You were given a warning to not stray from what has been chosen for you. Would you like to know why? Well I shall tell you… Should corresponding elements ‘bond’ their powers would become cataclysmic, it would throw off the balance of things and peace between the nations could possibly be threatened should those couples make it to the throne.

Ah yes, your parents are coming and you still have to get ready. Just remember what you have been told and after all, you’re only children right?

RULES


~CHARACTERS~
You only play as your character. There will be absolutely no godmodding or auto hitting. If someone is going away and gave you permission to use their character I am to see proof of this agreement before you take that character over. Also, you can play as many characters as you like as long as you keep them all involved and in the roleplay.

~ATTENDANCE~
I would like people to post at least a few times every few days, so please be active. If you aren’t going to be on, on certain days please let me know. Also, if you know when you are going away for a set period of time let me know. If you are inactive for 5 days, I will send you a PM regarding what is going on, if I do not receive a reply in 7 days after it being sent, I will remove you from the roleplay. Again, this is unless I am otherwise notified of any absences.

~3 STRIKE POLICY~
Three strikes and you’re out. Simple right? Warnings and strikes will be posted in the black/white list. I may skip strikes depending on the severity of the offense.

~RESPECT~
I expect respect from everyone to everyone else. Your characters may not get along, but do no attack characters in OOC. If you are having issues with someone else please try to work it out, if that does not work come to me.

~SKELETONS~
Ok, I’m gonna make this easy on everyone for once. There is one skeleton sheet for a change but more than one spot it could go… That means I want you to put the character you want to be and for what kingdom in the title. Make sense? Good, questions please ask me.

~POSTING~
All posting is to be done in past tense. I would like to avoid one liners as much as possible so I ask from a minimum of 3 lines. I LIKE DETAIL, and so do other people. Um, thoughts are italicized, no asterisks for actions, quotation marks when talking. The usual stuff right?

~AWARENESS~
Don’t ignore people, keep everyone involved. I will say something if this happens. Also, be aware of abilities. Each nation specializes in certain things, which will be covered later on. Someone from say, wind would not be able to do as much as fire for instance. Wind isn’t all based on attacks like fire. Age plays a role too, just don’t have some 15 year old being able to beat a 20’somethin’ from a stronger nation. Lastly, keep player and character knowledge separate!

The earth kingdom focuses on both offense and defense. Their usual weapons are knuckles for melee attacks and rods or staves for their defensive attacks. An earth female could end up with a Fire or Light male. Wind is their neutral while water and darkness are their opposing elements.

History: Kaida was raised very well, and it was not just because she is the daughter of a god. She was raised believing she was the best, and even at times favored, but then again they all were. She was put through training for her abilities at a young age, which is common for one of royal blood. She never faced any hardships despite the location of their homeland. She always got what she wanted and whenever she lost something, a replacement was soon found. She prided herself in beating her siblings when it came to them sparring, but that was also because her pride and ego wouldn't let her lose. If she ever found herself losing she was known to pull some sort of dirty trick to turn the table back in her favor.
Personality: Kaida, or little dragon, fits her namesake quite well. She holds herself to such a high standard that people view her as stuck up or spoiled at times. She is rather rude and sharp tongued, with an even quicker temper. This is how she is around most people, but those she is close to she tends to loosen up a bit. She is not very fond of this whole 'gathering' thing and had just been born when the last one past. She doesn't like being told what to do, at least by her parents, and is often getting in trouble when she rebels. Well, as much trouble as a daughter of the royal family could get in, which wasn't very much. Kai is the kind of person who can mess with her family and friends all she wants, but as soon as anyone else tries to she gets on the complete defensive.

History: Shin has grown up in a good home. Harped on to work harder he is the second child and often finds himself compared to his sister. History: Lairshin grew up well, near volcanos, which he has always loved. Trained as a warrior, he is still one of the top fighters, even for his age, not to mention he still doesn't really look his age. He was the eldest of his siblings and always wanted to make his kingdom as good a place as his parents had. He could field fire with expertise, his fighting skills far better. He was never very tall, and wore classes, looking like the studious type but he was not weak or to underestimated. However, he still prefers his books over fighting. He was happy when he was married, his happiness helping his wife to adjust to life in the fire nation, as well as next to a volcano and the constant visits of dragons. He has a companion, a little dragon, name Sheer, that goes with him practically everywhere.
Personality: He is kind but fierce if he is provoked. He treats everyone with respect if they deserve it and expects much of his children. His eldest, Kaida, showed his own aptitude with fighting but he still wins if they spar. His son, though, is far more like him in personality.

Deks is extremely intellectual, very analytical, rather reserved, and surprisingly patient. He's laid back and super easy to get along with. But he's not a flirt. Imagine that! A heartthrob man that's not after all the ladies? He is straight too! But he's just not into women like that. He sees them as close friends and persons he can lean on when in at tight spot. Too bad he's 'never interested' in anyone.

History: He grew up with peace on the mind and the mastery of the wind coming slowly but surely. He truely didn't get it until he was about 20. He has ruled just and well since ascending to the throne from his parents at the age of 29. He has made his queen as comfortable as he can while still maintaining his kingdom. History: She was born and raised a princess of the Dark kingdom, her brother is the current king. She had shown an altitude for her magic at a young age, mastering it even before she was wed to the current king of the Wind. She had learned how to use a bladed fan, which turned out to be an asset in her new home because their primary weapon was a plain fan. She had refused the marriage at first but soon came to love him before they had said their vows. Her new people adopted her quickly because she managed to learn how to flow with things better then she really knew. But she still is their dark queen, her darkened skin, red markings, black hair and dark eyes an obvious contrast to the native people.
Personality: She is kind and gentle but has a foul mood if set off, the dark still lives with her.

Too bad they haven't put two and two together yet and called Princess Neliel out on being the town's most wanted thief!

He’s very talented with a bow and arrow but likes to show off with trick shots sometimes.
Personality: He’s very laid back and isn’t very good with responsibilities. He very fun but has a short attention span and his attention is easily diverted to something else, or he can go off to his own little world. He’s quite lazy, tending to lie about when he should be doing work. Doesn’t really plan ahead or think of consequences much. He’s loyal and trustworthy, once you get his loyalty, there’s nobody better than him. He’s really friendly and often hugs people he knows and is always smiling.

History: Vladimir has gone through these meetings before. He watched his sister get married off and then was married to the water princess. He doesn't regret either marragies although he hasn't seen his sister since. He has a strong since of duty and will not hear a wimper of complaint out of his children. It took him a while but he taught his children to be strong like him. His daughter is the social one and his son is very reclusive. Although proud of both children Vladimir has had very little time to get to know his daughter and thus favors his son. He is hard on both of them but cares for them all. Above all he is looking forward to seeing his sister at this meeting.

Update for 06/08/10X

Families are all starting to meet up. At this point the fire kingdom is the only one starting out for the gardens, all others are soon to follow suite.

Also, dear ol' Wavikz poked a big ol' hole in my story seeing as her 'lovers' are of opposing elements. In order for the 'catostrophic power' to come into play from opposing elements, a few things much happen. First they must each be marked by their betrothed. Being marked happens simply by placing a kiss over the other's heart. A symbol will appear there, you may pick it on you own. This mark tells all that they are wed in a since, just without ceremony (which is all just for show anyway). The mark is also their biggest downfall; should another kiss where the mark is that person's heart will cease to beat.

The second thing that must happen is the 'binding' of the marriage through, well, more intimate acts. You should know what I'm talking about and no, that does not mean go into detail. It does mean that you fade to black and continue later with afterwards.

Update for 06/14/10X

All the kingdoms save for light and darkness have arrived. The Earth Princess is currently talking to the Water Prince, the Earth Prince had been talking to the Fire Princess until he freaked her out. She then went to bug her brother who was talking with the Wind Princess. The siblings started arguing though and their father stepped in. The Wind Princess retreated back to her family, the Fire King returned to his wife and the Fire Prince went to his dragon. That's really it right now I suppose XP


Update for 06/21/10X

Princes and Princesses continue to talk. A fight broke out between the princess of darkness and prince of wind; has this completely shattered any chance of them getting together? The water prince had been talking with the earth princess until her brother broke it up. The fire princess had run away from the earth prince and is now on a quest with the wind prince after his earlier fight. The earth prince followed only to be distracted by the wind princess after she returned from her flight with the fire prince. Relations seem to be growing between the two; what will parents say of the neutrals getting on so well? The earth princess is now getting her chance to speak with the fire prince while the darkness princess is talking with the water prince.

-Messages to be sent to those that have not posted in a while, possible warnings.

-Your character does not have to end up with the element that their family wants them to be in. Their teens after all and since when do teens follow every word that their parents say?

Kaida had been complaining on end about having to go to the 'meeting' or whatever it was her parents called it. To say she didn't want to go would be the under statement of the year by far. She had spent the morning arguing with her mother about how the whole idea was just a foolish endeavor, even her father wouldn't hear anything about it though that didn't surprise her. She was not about to go meet a bunch of crazy elemental gods that she didn't care about just to be shipped off with one of them at some point. Talking like that had the eldest child locked in her room until they were ready to go. With arms crossed the brunette paced her bedroom, the cloth on the lower part of her armor-like clothing wrapping and unwrapping itself as she walked.

She rubbed her hands on her currently bare wrists and sighed; her parents were getting smarter about how they left her. Moving towards the window the girl watched as a couple dragons zoomed by, fighing one another. Sighing she knew why she didn't want to go anywhere, and it wasn't just because the people would be unagreeable with her. She would miss this place even if she was gone for just the meeting thing.

A knock came to her door before it finally clicked open. Turning around Kaida saw a couple of the servants waiting for her, one of them holding her leather gaunlets. A smile came to her face as she walked towards the small group, taking her prized possessions from them and putting them on.

"Your parents are awaiting you in the carriage," the one that held her bedroom key said with a bow.

"So they finally managed to calm those two then, huh?" Kaida replied, humor dripping from her words as she walked past the group. They parted without a second thought, though that was to be expected. The girl wasn't even sure if her parents were actually outside yet, it was really just a way the servants used to get her moving. It worked too, at least most of the time seeing as she didn't know when they were telling the truth.

She walked outside and down the stairs to see the dragons had been indeed calmed, caught and harnessed. Walking up to the carriage, the door was open to her. It was empty. Grummbling, Kaida stepping inside and took her seat anyway as she awaited the rest of her family. Arms crossed gruffly she mummbled, "Stupid servants, I should set them all on fire for this one.

Tiptoeing away, the male felt the cool breeze rush across his face as he flung open the door to the outside. Just as he was about to escape, the silver-haired male heard a distance, yet all to familiar sound come from beside him. A light moan came from him as he looked the female dead in the eyes.

"What are you doing here? And now?" His eyes crossed some as he looked Nene in the eyes. "Your parents will not be pleased!"

"Oh boo-hoo," the female giggled sarcastically. "We'll all be going to the same place. Who the hell gives a damn if I got with the fam or with you." Her warpaint was still fresh from her just recent application. "What?" She cocked her head at the dumbfounded male. "Wait, wait a minute! You like me!"

She prodded his forehead with her finger and then took a single piece of his hair in her hands. "Silky smooth, as always." A light blush came to her face. "Will you please come with me?"

Deks gave her his typical 'your sad eyes and cute voice won't work on me' look. Wrapping his arm around her neck, he nodded. "Very well, I shall come with you. But only because of our deeply passionate and undying love."

"Oh, Romeo!" She smacked him. "You're impossible Deks. Seriously, if I had to actually marry you, my best friend, I think I'd die."

"Ditto." Deks lifted the female into his arms and then jumped into the air. Hovering there, he picked the perfect place to land. As his feet brushed lightly against the ground, he could hear a light 'awe' escape a passerby that just so happened to witness him in his graceful state.
