Psych ward ((re-done))

((The original maker of this RP never logged again since she made it. Therefore We decided to make a new thread.))

People go insane daily, and they need a safe place to go, where they endanger no one, right? They claim to have abilities, and those abilities get them locked up. Every-day happenings. In this particular asylum, though, the people do have abilities, and the drugs squash said abilities, making them half the person they could have been.

Skeletons (post them please, and only two Skitzo's Please. First come first serve.))

Personality: Quiet, shy, and very sensitive

Name: Giligan Douglass/Sodom The Clown
Age: 25
Appearance: Is 6'1" and weighs about 95kg/210lbs
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y24...cs/jester5.jpg
Disorder:
Jekyll and Hyde Syndrome. Similar to schitzophrenia, but the physical body takes on very minor and subtle changes when either of the two personalities are in control. A clear case of a normal type personality, and a very antisocial, sociopathic personality with highly psychotic tendencies. The change can occur under periods of extreme stress, but usually when one personality goes to sleep, the other wakes up soon after.
Power:
Optical Illusions. Can do 'local' illusions, or 'fucused' illusions. A local illusion involves making something appear that can be genuinely seen, and a focused illusion is where he makes a particular person or group see something within their own minds.
Personality:
Gilligan- this was the primary personality, the one he was born with. Gilligan is a thinker, able to be an outspoken individual, but can also become quiet and reclusive at times. He interacts with almost anyone.
Sodom The Clown- is vying to become the primary personality within this body. The clown is a sociopathic creature of sadistic nature that has, for the most part, taken over Gilligans mind. This personality has killed before, and will do so again.

Name: Shadow
Age: 18
Picture: http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...n/a824a1a5.jpg
Disorder: Disassociative identity disorder, paranoid personality disorder
Power: He can uncontrollably read the thoughts of others around him and recall all of said person's memories, thoughts and behaviors, sometimes confusing them for his own.
Personailty: Jumpy and confused, he often speaks incoherently, using other names and talking about events he may or may not have been a part of personally. He usually knows his thoughts aren't really his own but he has no idea who's they could be or why he's saying them. He's prone to short bursts of aggression which are almost immediately followed by days of withdrawal from interaction with others all together. He trusts very few because he ends up realizing their true motives sometimes before they even do.

Disorder: Slight personality disorder (can be very outgoing at times and very quiet at others), ADHD
Power: She can make objects/people do what she wants by changing their will and making it into hers. (With objects it is like telekinesis)
Personality: Most of the time she is outgoing and friendly to the patients and some of the nicer nurses. She is usually even tempered. At times, she can get very quiet and not talk to anyone, and she can be very temper-mental. In either personalities she is very stubborn.

Isabella sat in the recreational area. The TV played in the background. Some sort of reality show a lot of the patients liked here. A few people ate while others played games. Isabella was just very calm as she sat in her chair. Almost too calm honestly. She had a collar around her neck that beeped every now and then. It controlled her power to the point of nothing since when Isabella could get into a very bad mood at any second. She rubbed her eyes a bit in deep thought. Though her conscious mind was thinking about nothing, her subconscious was wondering about every single horrible thought one could think. Her grey eyes darted about the room at all the familiar faces.

dustland_fairytale 06-02-2010 09:43 PM

"Shadow, it's time to take your inhibitor," said the doctor cheerfully, holding up the syringe as he spotted Shadow over in the corner. Shadow lifted his head slowly from it's resting place on his knees and glanced at it with pale grey eyes. He was shaking slightly. He sighed and offered his arm. The doctor wiped his shoulder clean with a cloth and then gave the injection. The room had been humming before but now, as the "medicine" reached his brain, everyone else's in the room fell silent. He let out a soft groan of relief and lowered his head once more. The doctor patted him gently on the head. "Try to interact today?" he muttered before he left. It was what he said every day when he brought Shadow out into the recreational room. Even the doctors called him Shadow. It was all he had been able to tell them about who he was when he had arrived there.

From what Shadow had come to understand about his medicine, it seemed to shut down parts of his brain that let him hear others while also administering a mild sedative to prevent him from having any more of the outbursts he had been recognized for during the early part of his stay here.

musikfreakx 06-02-2010 10:33 PM

Ava Vade sat on the window sill in the recreational room. She looked out at the small grass courtyard with her light blue eyes. A single large willow tree was in the middle. Only "good" patients could go out there. Of course, Ava had never been out there. She rocked back and forth slightly, the motion put her at peace. Like Isabella's, Ava had a collar around her neck. It kept her from using her power. Every time she tried to use her power even the slightest bit, a jolt of electricity came from the necklace and through her body. She sighed as she ran a hand through her black hair. She glanced around the room, a girl sitting calmly in a chair, a boy getting a shot of medication, patients gathered around watching the stupid reality show on TV or playing board games.

She was covered in blood when they took her away....washed her up, locker her up.
Didn't even give her a trial...she had her own cell, because she was 'dangerous' nonsense....she just knew who wanted to hurt her that's all. They gave her a pill...well more than one...and the voices went away...but why? why did they have to go away? now she would never know it if someone tried to kill her....

Drop Bear 06-03-2010 08:12 PM

Sodom paced around and around in his cell, his shoes rhythmically thumping on the floor as he absently juggled. He chuckled to himself occasionally, some dark thought or other amusing his twisted mind. Occasionally he stopped juggling momentarily and looked at the door of his cell, which at face height was filled with a reinforced window for observation.

Seeing no change, he went back to pacing in circles for a while longer before boredom overcame him and he threw the juggling balls at a far wall and let them roll across the floor. He stalked up to the door, leaning on it, one arm either side of the window as he tried to peer out at the world beyond. "I want to play!" he called out, flecks of spittle hitting the window, his voice echoing in the room. Sodom was impatient to be let out to see the other patients of the hospital. He was never allowed to mingle with them, but he did get to be in a cage in the same room as the others where he could taunt them from occasion.

With a groan of exasperation, he licked the window then spun away, looking at the bed on the far wall. The time was well past when he should have been out of the cell, he gave in to the tiredness of not having slept for 2 days straight, and laid down on the bed. With a final chuckle at some unknown thought, he sighed and closed his eyes, laying finally still. "If you punish me again like this Gilligan, ill make you sorry like last time..." he murmered to himself as he drifted into sleep.

Some three hours later, the same body sat up and yawned, stretching its arms and rubbing its eyes. Blinking the bleariness from his eyes he stood up and shuffled over to the door, banging on it twice. after several minutes, he repeated the process, doing it again and again until some one came to look in the window. After a nod, the door was unlocked.

"Hey there Gil, how you feeling?" the attendant asked Gilligan.

"Like ive been hit by a bus mate..." Gilligan said with a groan, wiping at his face. "Heads pounding, eyes are sore, the usual after he does this to me i guess..." he said in resignation.

"Righto, ill get the doc to see you as soon as he can. Its yard time, you want to join the others?" he asked respectfully.

"Yeah, sounds good i guess..." he replied weakly, shuffling out the door and off down the corridoor.

Unlike others, Gilligan had brought himself in. Technically he'd had to do it twice since Sodom had tricked them the first time and they had let him go. Months later, he was back again. He was fine as Gilligan, he knew he had to be there, it was the best place for him, but Sodom hated it, he wanted out, and his nasty, cruel and sadistic nature combined with the forced confinement meant he often became unruly and aggressive. The assistants and medical staff were happy to have Gilligan about, but Sodom was a completely different story. As his disorder implied, he was the normal personality of the two inside his shared body.

At the end of the coridoor, he waited at the doorway, the attendant unlocking the door and letting him enter with a silent nod. He returned the gesture and stepped in, looking around to see who was there and who was absent again...

dustland_fairytale 06-04-2010 03:30 AM

Shadow jerked as though he had been startled from a sleep. He quickly raised his head and looked about, his eyes much more alert than they had been a moment before. He examined himself carefully before hoisting himself to his feet, a tad unsteadily. It was clear he was now confused. He scratched the back of his head and seemed to be mumbling under his breath. He dropped his hand to his side and walked out of his corner, reaching out and gently tapping the shoulder of the person closest to him, which happened to be a young girl seated in a chair.

"E-excuse me, miss? Do you know what time it is?" He looked out the window anxiously. "I- I don't seem to have my watch on me and I think I might be late for work. I don't think I'm supposed to be here right now..." His voice trailed off and he scratched his head again, this time it seemed to be in frustration. Mixed thoughts, literally. He knew where he was but he had no idea why he was there and he knew he had a job but he had no idea what it was.

The medicine that Shadow recieved prevented him from hearing other people's thoughts but unfortunately it could do nothing to prevent the overflow of personalities he had already aquired from surfacing now and again. You see, unlike some of the patients, Shadow's power had been the cause of his mental illness, driving him slowly insane over the years. At the moment though, he seemed perfectly sane, albiet a bit twitchy, but sane nonetheless.

musikfreakx 06-04-2010 07:30 PM

Ava watched as the boy who had just received his medicine began talking to the girl in the chair. Two thoughts raced into her head at the same time. He deserves to be here, was the first one. It was a bit menacing, but that was part of her "disorder". She could tell he had a power, and that he had lost his sanity due to it. Ava hadn't; she had just changed. It had been like the side effects of a medicine. She got this great power, but with it came the side effect of sometimes almost being like a different person. For the most part, she was friendly to the other patients and even some of the staff. But at times, she could get mean. She didn't like it, but it's what happened. The second thought quickly overrode the first one. Poor guy doesn't even know he's here. The thought drowned out the other, and she smiled now that the nastier thoughts were gone. She supposed part of her disorder was also contributed to because of her ADHD. She had come from a bit of a cruel family, and often times she was neglected and didn't get her medicine. This made everything much worse, and one day she lashed out at her father, forcing the heavy porcelain vase to smash into his head. He hadn't died, but he had been in the hospital for 4 months, receiving treatment. After that he sent to her to this place.

Hresvelgr 06-04-2010 07:38 PM

Isabella noticed the familiar faces filling in the room. The doctors put them in here to attempt to make them more active, Some of the patients would just rather sit and stare at a wall all day than anything. He felt a sudden tap on her shoulder. Something that made the quiet girl jump a bit in her seat. Though the question made her turn and look up to the slightly twitchy boy behind her. Eying him carefully. She was very cautious around most of the patients. "Time?.. it is almost eight in the morning." Isabella told him. Glancing to the clock behind him. Her eyes widened a bit suddenly as a thought came into her small mind. Something about the boy. Though they returned to normal a bit later. She got a bit scared then also. Thinking about her deep thoughts. Her collar shocked her a bit then. Not very strong, but just enough to get her mind back in order.

dustland_fairytale 06-04-2010 08:28 PM

There was something eerily familiar about this place, Shadow knew it. He glanced back behind him to where the girl had looked. Well, there was the clock. "Oh, so it is," he said with a sheepish laugh. Then he saw the poor girl in the chair get shocked and he took a step back. "Are you okay?!" he asked, unsettled by the fact that these people, human beings, were wearing shock collars. He caught sight of another girl looking at him too. Suddenly he was unsure of himself. "Am...Am I supposed to be here?" he asked, perhaps to noone in particular. He seemed to struggle with this thought for a moment before his eyes went unfocused and he shuddered. He looked down at the girl and drew his hand away as though he was afraid she'd bite him.

"Oh no.... I-I-I'm sorry," he apologized, feeling the need to but not knowing if he had said anything to really be sorry about. He averted his eyes. The only time he interacted with anyone was usually when he wasn't himself. And he had honestly learned to deal with the awkward switching of selves until his violent side had surfaced and he had ended up ramming another patient's face into the arm of a chair...repeatedly. Needless to say he had stayed in his room for a long time after that. Now he was much more cautious. He was at least just grateful that this girl wasn't physically hurt.

musikfreakx 06-04-2010 08:42 PM

Ava's eyes widened slightly as the girl was shocked. She should be used to it by now, considering how she had had it done to her and had witnessed. However, she didn't think she'd ever get used to it. A feeling of sadness and sympathy overcame her as the boy jumped back and apologized. She was tempted to use her ability, to will him to calm down. She knew she'd just end up hurting herself, and possibly getting the others in trouble. The staff hated it when anyone who had a power tried to use it, and when somebody did it often meant consequences for all of the patients. Ava's left hand clenched down on the window sill, her nails digging into it so hard it hurt. She lifted her hand, feeling the deep indentions she had caused. She continued to clench the window sill in order to keep her mind on track.

Hresvelgr 06-04-2010 09:14 PM

Isabella slowly lifted her hand and rubbed her eyes. Hearing the boy ask if she were alright. "Yes.." She said slowly. More so than before. "I'm used it since it only happens when certain thoughts decided to creep themselves into my mind." Isabella told him. She was only repeating what the doctors had told her months ago. Never really understanding the science behind anything they said. But she also learned not to question anything they told them. After all, apparently everything was for the better... Isabella looked up to the male, finally standing herself. He was the one who beat James up a few weeks ago. It was sudden too.. "I think you ask that question every day. at least I hear you do." She told him. Smiling a bit towards the very confused male. Though Isabella herself wasn't even sure where here was. Or how she had ended up here. Shadow sudden;y started to apologize to her. Forcing Isabella to think maybe she had said something wrong herself. "Don't be sorry, I'm sorry if I offended you in any way...." Isabella knew Ava was across the room, watching them. Isabella had spoken to her a few times, but they mostly just kept their distance. Isabella didn't hate Ava either, just no body really socialized here very often.

musikfreakx 06-04-2010 11:32 PM

Ava squinted her eyes at the boy, assessing. He had gotten violent a few weeks ago. It had ended badly for James. Ava, though not glad she did, thought that it wasn't such a bad thing. She hadn't like James, always harassing her and the others. Ava sooner or later would've gotten violent with him too. Ava debated whether walking over and talking to them. She knew it would be awkward, coming randomly into a conversation. She decided to see what happened first before she did anything. Ava's mind wandered to the collar around her neck. Most people didn't question anything the scientist doctors did or said. But she was curious and irritated. She had been wondering if she could use her power to the extent of getting the collar to power down or just stop working. She knew that if it did happen, she'd be shocked continuously until it powered down. If she did that in here, the doctors would have her in a second. Things would get much worse for her. She could do it in her cell, but then she'd risk getting walked in on and that would be equally bad.

Drop Bear 06-05-2010 09:55 AM

Gilligan stood in from the doorway as the door closed behind him, another attendant standing on the inside watching everyone passively. He gave him a nod, and pulled the ever familliar jokers cap off his head, running a hand through his shoulder length black hair.

He saw Isabella and Shadow talking off to one side, things looked to be getting akward for both of them, which wasnt uncommon, especially during social time. Placing the jokers cap back on his head, he stuck his hands in his jacket pockets and decided to head over to Ava who was quietyl sitting on her own watching the pair as well. Gilligan threaded his way through the other patients in the room to approach her from infront and off to one side a bit. He had found he got better responses out of people when he didnt approach them from behind, but instead where they could see him comming before hand.

He walked over next to her and gestured at the empty floor next to her chair. "Mind if i join you?" he asked her politely, looking over his shoulder at the other two briefly before looking back. Absently, his hand raised to the ever present collar at his neck. He hadnt yet figured out how they functioned, not being able to use any abilities himself, only Sodom The Clown could do that, and he was asleep at the moment thankfully.

dustland_fairytale 06-05-2010 02:23 PM

"Oh," he said. At the mention of his question he looked down in shame. "Sometimes I forget..." He hadn't realized he said it so often. Well ya learn something new every day, don't you. His eyes shot up and looked at Isabella for the first time since he'd become truely himself again. "You didn't!" he said hurriedly. "At least I don't think you did." He had never learned how to talk to others, his family life had been shady and he had seen more hours of darkness in the basement of his house than of sunlight above. In fact, his mother seemed to have been the reason he had snapped like this. She had treated him horribly, yet in her own mind she was perfectly content to do so, and it had been a reality Shadow had struggled with for years. The worst part though had been his father's lack of reaction, lack of sympathy it seemed. He may have very well done worse than Shadow's mother by not doing anything at all.

His gaze went past her as Gilligan entered the room. Truth be told, Shadow actually liked Gilligan, he seemed friendly enough and he seemed to have a few of the same problems Shadow had, but he was deeply shaken by his other personality whose twisted mind, when he was awakened, Shadow couldn't seem to push out even with medication. He watched him like an animal whose higher ranking pack member had just entered the area, with caution but familiarity.

musikfreakx 06-05-2010 05:01 PM

Ava looked over to Gilligan and gave him a small smile. "Sure, join me," she said, tilting her head slightly. Some people were slightly afraid of him, but mostly because of his split personality. Ava didn't mind, he was like her, only his "disorder" was more severe. She didn't like his other personality much, she was freaked out by him considering her deathly fear of clowns, but she figured that that didn't give her reason to not be nice to him as Gilligan. Ava's hand was subconsciously fiddling with the collar, twisting it in half circles around her neck. Ava was thankful it was only Gilligan, and she was also glad that he had approached from in front. If he would have sneaked up on her, she would've freaked a bit, and then she would have been very antsy and anxious. Ava glanced around the room quickly before turning her attention back to Gilligan. She smiled again a little bit at him to reassure him, he looked a bit nervous.

"Cheers Ava. Hows your day been?" Gilligan said, sitting down next to Ava's chair, hugging his knees to his chest comfortably and leaning on the side of the seat as he watched Isabella and Shadow tripping over each other in conversation. An amused smile crossed his face, a slightly dark and menacing twist of his features appeared for but a split second, unnoticed by Gilligan and those around him. After a second, he realised that Shadow was looking past Isabella and at him, so he nodded his head and flipped one hand on his knee in a casual wave of greeting to him.

He didnt particularly dislike anyone here, except for the extreme psychopaths who, for no reason other than their own nature, tried to kill anyone and anything. He feared his other side, Sodom The Clown, was somewhat like those creatures, hardly people anymore.

Hresvelgr 06-08-2010 01:19 PM

Isabella looked to where Shadow was watching. It was Gilligan across the room. He was an interesting to say the least. "You should take a seat." Isabella said to Shadow, remembering he was still standing behind her. Isabella tried to remember her own past every now and then. The doctors always asked what made her like this. Mainly because Isabella was probably one of the most dangerous people here. And she didn't have a second personality to blame. Still, her past was nothing but a blur to her. She had come there after killing her boyfriend, and that was all the doctors knew. Not even Isabella remembered that much though. "How are you feeling today Shadow?"

Drop Bear 06-08-2010 02:24 PM

When Isabella looked over his way after Shadow did, Gilligan gave her a nod of his head and a small hand flap of greeting too, then looked over to Ava to see how she was doing.

musikfreakx 06-08-2010 04:19 PM

Ava smiled at Gilligan. "Good I suppose, just like any other," she said with a small sigh. Her mind was wandering from thought to thought. The things that got her here, how she could ever get out, and more. Nobody had ever figured out why she had attacked her father. She knew, but no one believed her. For years her parents had been dead beat, drunken and abusive druggies. It took her getting put here for people to realize something was wrong, but then all the blame was put on her slight personality disorder. It was barely even personality disorder, just flashes of her "darker side" so to speak. She looked at her arm, where a long white scar ran from her shoulder to the middle of her arm, halfway between her shoulder and elbow. Her father had thrown dishes at her one night after not cleaning them right. She looked over at Gilligan and mustered a small smile. "And how has your day been?" she asked in return.
