Hm...it sometimes depends on my mood, and the company I'm with...if I'm with people who are similar to me or have similar interests, I usually have an easier time hopping in and chatting up a storm. However if I'm with really opposite types of people...say, a really stern person or those who don't smile much or are really quiet, I start feeling very awkward. :sweat:

Haha, I don't like the Chatterbox either, it's just a huge spamfest in there. :XD The only times I go there are when I'm looking for giveaways. Even then, I only post in the newer ones. Hmm, I guess it's because I don't watch anime much, I usually imagine their voices in my mind, so they often don't turn out to be what I expected of them. Like in the upcoming Berserk anime movie, Griffith's voice was horrible. :gonk: He sounded like a girl. Though I wasn't the only one to feel that...almost everyone I knew and from the comments in the comments section mentioned how horrible his voice was. :XD

I'm reading Zetman at the moment. :XD The mangaka sure changed his usual plotstyle a lot. He was originally something more of a light-hearted romance-type, but in Zetman it's waaay darker.

I wouldn't have that much time had I been living at home anyway. I was in college, so there was no one to tell me to get to bed before eleven or midnight, so in my freshman year I completely went bonkers and often stayed up until it was six in the morning. :P;;; I managed to get the time better controlled in the later years...four or five for second year, around four in third year, and roughly two or three in my last year. :XD Now I head to bed at around midnight, though occasionally I still stay up later just to be online...and then pay for it the next day at work. :sweat:

I think that would be quite confusing. :XD I remember there was a Chinese hangout thread a while ago, but it died off pretty quickly. As did most of the Japanese ones, though I think there are still one or two that survived but goes pretty slowly.

I usually check the summary and the art style of a series first before I read it, and will read it for maybe one or two chapters to decide on a feel for it. If someone strongly recommends a series I've never heard of before to me, I might stick to a few more chapters before deciding. But I don't think I'd ever try Darker Than Black, it just doesn't seem to interest me.

Yes! Though usually the original mangaka has a say in these things so they're at least semi-involved in choosing the person who does the voice acting...but still, some of them are just so horrible! :headdesk:

I am horrible at sewing. :XD I tend to poke more holes into my fingers than the clothe. :sweat: I can do very very simple things like making a quilt, but that's about it. Nothing fancy like pants or shirts and stuff. :(

Hmm, I'm not sure if Zetman's drawing style's your type though. :lol: It's very shounen also, and despite it not being too sexual, there are many scenes and angles where the girls are showing their panties and stuff. It's a bit of a more 'mature audience', so there are nudity, but the sex scenes aren't heavy except for the parts where it involves the plot.
Anyway, loooong story short, it's about artificial creatures made originally for the purpose of fighting each other to death for the amusement of humans, and after a while some of them escaped because they resent the humans for forcing them to do that, and the humans created another type of artificial being for the purpose of exterminating before they destroyed the world (or more specifically, the human world, since they're their primary grudge targets after all) It mostly focuses on the two protagonists of the story. The guy who was the artificial being created to destroy the other artificial creatures, and a rich boy who has this extreme sense of 'justice' to the point of making himself a hero suit to go around against evil...though he mostly ended up with fighting the artificial creatures. etc. etc...Too complicated to really explain. :sweat:

You can read Zetman on mangareader, though it only goes up to around 150 chapters...on some Chinese websites I've found it's up to chapter 177.

And well, yeah, it's definitely 'pretty', but it's not the kind I like. Vassalord and Yami no Matsuei (barring the horrendous thing that is volume 12) are other types of drawing styles that I like and prefer.

I dislike the majority of shoujo manga, but there are a few that I can tolerate, and very very few that I like. 粉紅系少年 is one rare example of a 'shoujo' that I like, featuring a guy who has 'feminine' tastes. (likes to cook, sew, clean, ...all the stereotypical things a girl 'should like', but doesn't dress up like one, and is heterosexual) Most others...well, let's just say I want to strangle just about every character in it.

Oh. :O Darker Than Black seems to be rather popular, but I don't suppose I'd ever watch or read it...I prefer sticking to the originals, but don't have time to watch animes.

Vassalord stopped at around volume 4 here, if I remember correctly. Last I heard there doesn't seem to have been any new releases in quite a while either. :c I remember it being first released back when I was in high school, and now after almost six or so years it's still only at volume 4.

Haha, same here. XD I'm very picky when it comes to shoujo. I think one of the reasons I like the Pink Guy thing (I couldn't find the English name for the darn series) was because it was deliberately defying all those 'laws' of gender. Like how the girl was great at martial arts, fighting, trekking, ...but sucks at cooking, sewing, and cleaning. Her room was full of all those 'passionate' statements about conviction, willpower, and other judo-like stuff, while the guy has a room full of little decorations, laces, frills, and other sparkly 'girl' stuff. I like series where the girl isn't useless or weak and can handle her own. xD
