Ah yes, I do love my wok <3

It works in a pinch if I don't have a clean spaghetti pan or if I need to heat up frozen veggies.

And teflon EVERYTHING that I use on the stove! Wok, pots, skillet. I don't have teflon baking pans, but I'm not even sure if they make those. Haven't had an issue with stuff sticking though; usually the stickier stuff goes into my ceramic bakeware and that comes of really easy.

I forgot my teapot I like to use it to boil water in for when I have my coffee. I own a wok but don't use it that often. my first wok got used to cook fried food in it by other people that use to work for my brother. I got so mad at them cause when I wanted to use it there was dirt oil that filled my wok. just to fry bread okra,french fires and other foods in it.

they ruined my Wok with using it for oil so much I had to get rid of it after I moved. there was no way this one was going to use a mess up wok to cook with.

We have a teapot, but I've never used it. I just don't have tea that often, and the last time I made it I made a gallon at once so the teapot wouldn't have been big enough anyway xD

When I lived on campus, our building didn't have a single kitchen in it. When I wanted grilled cheese, I would rent an iron from the front desk, wrap a cheese sandwich in foil, and iron it xD

Didn't get it very crispy, but it was good enough for what I had :lol:

HOORAY! Yesterday I got a toaster for my birthday!

And today my uncle gave me his charcoal grill. Our neighbors had an electric one they let us use for a while, but it was rather small. This one is much better.

You could also try smashing some bread and cheese into a toaster.....not highly recommended, though. More likely if you have a toaster oven. My sister claims to have done it a couple times....but I kind of wonder how she didn't spontaneously combust. XD

And I looveee grilled cheese. I don't eat it too much, though. Usually, I'm just too lazy. XD

I'd be afraid of ruining the toaster with the melted cheese D:

...I do that too! I have about five cloves of garlic, and a container of garlic powder. I'm also never without basic bruschetta ingredients, so I also have at any given time 5-10 tomatoes and a basil plant named Bob.


In my kitchen, though, I can't go without a frying pan. I'm a big on the frying pan. Not sure what I would do without it...


As far as what I really, really, really want to have in my kitchen? I want a waffle-maker and a juicer (I have a blender but it's not one for making drinks if you know what I mean...more for makin' hummus).

Whoa, on the topic of garlic. I love garlic. I'm no cook, so I don't cook. But when I'm near the cook I always say they need more garlic, and they put some in and say that it's a lot and I always disagree. Then when I eat and there's not enough garlic I have a silent little moment of satisfaction, knowing I called the lack of garlic before it happened.

The plastic rice cooker :D I adore that thing so much it's one of those you put in the microwave. It cooks pasta/veggies too.

I even bring it on road trips.

All I need is some mode of heating water and perhaps sustenance, even if not to the point of cooking...cause I tend to live off things that don't really NEED to be cooked much, maybe just have hot water added.
Mostly cause I'm a vegetarian and also not fond of nomming stuff. And I wouldn't trust myself to open a can of soup that was already open.

So some vessel for water and/or stuff, plus some form of heat source.
Other than that, I tend to be resourceful. : D

wahoo! Glad to see I'm not the only rice cooker lover! And once mine's set up and being used, I'd totally take it on road trips. We brought my friend's with us to Animazement last year and 'twas grand. We made rice in the rice cooker and noodles in the coffee pot provided by the hotel. XD

A CAN OPENER.

If you've ever seen the movie called the Pianist you'll know why...

I've never seen it. What genre is it?

That statement alone makes me want to go watch it...

It's a WWII movie about a Jewish Pianist later in the movie he is hiding in some abandoned buildings starving and near death. He eventually finds a giant can of beets or something (Can't remember), and of course there is no can opener and he goes through hell trying to get it opener.

Pretty cool film, it made me appreciate the importance of a can opener.

OMG I have several kitchen things I couldn't live without.

1) My George Foreman. When it's just me (or one other person) to cook for, this thing sure is handy! I :heart: it. I've been through three of them in the past 10 years or so, so I say this is definitely one of my kitchen essentials.

2) A food scale. This has come in handy in so many ways, but mostly I use it to get proper portions. :yes: Also essential to a good diet. XD

3) Lock n' Lock storage containers. I LOVE these things! My mom got me a set for Christmas, and they're the best tupperware I've ever had!

4) A good set of knives. I got mine from my mom for Christmas -- she seems to like giving me kitchen stuff. They're Ginsu, and cut through pretty much everything. XD

5) A pot -- to boil water for quinoa, rice, etc.

6) And, lastly, my wooden spoons. I have a love for wooden spoons for some reason. I do like my silicone spatula, but I use my wooden spoons more.

What I really, really want for my kitchen though: A French press. I've been on a coffee kick lately, and I would absolutely adore having one.

A nice food scale is on my list next. I have one, but the base is teeny-tiny and basically you have to fit whatever you're weighing into the measuring cup it came with. Kindof awkward for cuts of meat ]:

Yeah, that would be awkward. :/

I stole mine from my mom, because she never used it. I use it to weigh meats, yogurt... all kinds of things. XP
