Emy blinked, trying to clear her vision so she could see the road. She seemed a little ashamed that she'd even said anything. "I'm sorry..." Her voice was soft and small.

Léan raised an eyebrow. "Sorry for what? It isn't upsetting for me. And I don't mind you talking about something that's upsetting you, either..."

Emy just shook her head momentarily. as if saying she didn't want to talk about it anymore. It was too sad for her to think about them being alone.

Léan didn't seem to fully understand how much it was upsetting her, but he politely backed off. If she really wanted him to stay...or to go with him...he would have to think about it either way.

Emy soon had to focus on driving to keep from running off the road. sometimes she just wouldn't pay attention, or her eyes would get so blurry from sudden tears that she couldn't see.

Léan watched her for a long moment, noting her condition. "...Do you want to stop for a while? I should be fine for a few more hours, if you need to collect yourself..."

Emy glanced back at him and was about to deny it, but she knew if she kept going like this she'd get into a wreck. She nodded slightly, then pulled off to the side of the interstate and quickly climbed out of the car and sat beside it with her knees to her chest.

Léan, worried about her, managed to crawl over onto the middle seats, then into the front seat. He made sure his lower half wasn't visible to passing cars and peered out at her through the open window of the passenger seat. "Are you going to be all right?"

Emy practically jumped over the railing when he spoke. "Good lord...how'd you get up there?" She then sighed and nodded slightly. "I'll be fine.."

Léan nodded slowly, closing his eyes. "I crawled...mind you, it wasn't easy...but I did it." He seemed tired out from his 'trek,' and didn't move much.

Emy noticed how tired he looked and stood up, wiping her eyes. "Are you alright? We still have a little bit to go....think you can make it?"

"I will be fine. Take your time." Léan made no move to head back to the back seat. Instead, he stayed put. Only his upper half could be seen from outside, so he looked like a shirtless young man sitting in the passenger seat.

Emy sighed softly and took a deep breath and turned her back to him for almost two minutes. Thoughts raced through her head. She then nodded and walked to the driver's side door carefully, then got in quickly as to avoid being hit by another car. "Ready?"

Léan nodded, smiling. He frowned for a split second, though. "I should probably cover my tail up with something if I am going to sit up here...just in case someone peeks in," he noted.

Emy smiled back at him, then nodded slightly. She looked back in the back and rummaged behind and under her seat. Then smiled and pulled out a blanket. "How bout this?"

"That will do," Léan hummed, taking it from her gratefully. He pulled his tail up more onto the seat and then wrapped the blanket around himself like a cocoon. It covered most of his tails, leaving only the very end of the split fin at the end of it visible.

Emy smiled and nodded. "Nobody should be able to see the rest..." She didn't think she'd be pulled over or anything. They only had less than a half hour. "Okay. Let's go." She looked at the rearview mirror and pulled back out onto the interstate when there was a spot for her.

Léan nodded, thankfully. He didn't think he could crawl back to the back seat--he was far too tuckered out. He watched the view from the windshield with fascination.

Emy glanced at him and smiled, happy that he seemed so fascinated. But, she knew what he'd just done had worn him out. He couldn't afford for her to break down again. So, she just decided to not talk about anything that might make her depressed.

Léan watched the view for quite a while until he saw a familiar sight in the distance. His tail couldn't help swishing up and down, excitedly, as he saw the ocean in the near distance.

Emy wondered what he'd gotten so excited about, so she looked over briefly. Then smiled, though seeing the ocean brung her grief and sorrow. She knew he'd have to go, and that hurt...to think about being alone again. She looked back at the road silently and just kept driving for the ocean.

Léan noticed her expression, and his tail stopped. He was still, staring at the ocean with great desire in his eyes. He had missed it so much...
|
Emy just sighed softly to herself when she saw he'd noticed her mood. She knew how much he must miss the ocean, being kept in that sad excuse for a replacement for so long. She only wished she could go with him.

Léan fidgeted uncomfortably for a long moment, then began to chew his lip. He suspected she wanted to go with him. But...as he'd mentioned before, unless she gave him two months to gather the supplies needed for a human to live and breathe underwater...
...there was only one other way to make it happen. |
Emy knew she'd made him figet like that somehow, though she wasn't really sure why he was. Her thoughts sort of wandered to what it'd be like to go with him and live in his world. She did think about the long period of time she'd be alone before he could get the stuff she needed to go with him....but she didn't know if she could take being alone for that long after she'd gotten used to being around him. It'd be like ripping a piece of her heart out. She had thought about the other way, and honestly....she wouldn't mind, she'd be nervous as hell, but she wouldn't mind her first time being with Leandre. She actually sort of liked the idea, which got her thinking....how much did she really like him? But, the answer would only hurt her....seeing as she 'knew' that he wouldn't do that so she could go with him.
