Léan seemed relieved that nothing bad was going on. He drifted by his brother and tapped him on the shoulder, cuddling up to him briefly and affectionately.
Archie smiled, nuzzling his brother's shoulder. They had been close when they were little, but rarely saw each other nowadays. |
Monty motioned for her to move over to the brothers and she swam over a little quickly, seeming happy.
|
Léan returned to Emy's side almost at once. Seeing them so close to each other and both smiling, it was rather creepy, since they were almost totally identical in every way unless one looked really closely at them.
Archie watched them, biting back a newfound wave of grief since he was happy for his brother. |
Emy smiled softly at Leandre and then looked at Archie, sensing he was feeling down.
Monty came up to them with fish and a smile. "Who wants breakfast?" |
Léan and Archie, creepy once again, showed the same exact reaction--glancing at him and swishing their tails back and forth. Léan would probably venture out with Emy to get his own food later, though, since two wasn't enough for all of them.
|
Monty looked at them, then shrugged slightly and moved to Archie, offering the fish to him. "Take your pick." He smiled a little. He knew he was still feeling bad.
Emy gently took Leandre's hand and smiled lovingly at him. |
Archie once again took the smaller fish. He didn't want to take the bigger one, since he didn't catch them himself.
Léan, who still had strong intentions of making himself a good alpha, held onto her hand and started out to look for food. He also did something strange. He wandered for quite a few minutes, with her tagging along, and was sniffing out good, unclaimed territory lines. |
Monty grinned slightly and moved to be beside Archie and pulled the other fish off and took a bite. "So, why do you always pick the smaller fish?"
Emy just tagged along, not really minding what he was doing, though it seemed a little strange and she was curious. |
Archie blinked, mouth full of fish, and went a bit pink, swallowing. "You caught them...you get the bigger one..." he reasoned, quietly.
Léan took notice that there was another group of merpeople nearby, not living in the settlement. This unnerved him a bit, but he quietly continued on his way. He was pleased to find a school of fish, and he sped up into them, easily catching two of the small fish for himself. |
Monty thought for a moment, then shrugged slightly. "Alrighty then." He would just get two that were pretty big next time.
Emy just watched him for a moment, then smiled a little. Hunting was fun, she remembered that, but the killing was always hard for her. She slowly waited for the school to calm down before creeping up on it, darting into it, but only catching one. |
Archie nibbled on his fish absently, feeling like an idiot for saying that. But it was true--he had caught them, so he deserved the bigger fish.
Léan gnawed on one of his fish, easily. He watched her, to see if she would kill it on her own this time. |
Monty gently nudged him, then smiled. "Its totally ok."
Emy took a deep breath, closed her eyes and just killed it quickly. She felt bad, but was slowly getting used to it. Which made her feel a little worse. |
Archie blinked, then nodded, as he continued to eat. From the look of him, he didn't often eat fish. He hated killing them and didn't like going out on his own. He usually just ate sea plants.
Léan was puzzled by her behavior, as always, but he didn't question it as he ate. |
Monty quickly ate his fish and quickly moved to swim in quick circles. "You want another fish?"
Emy quickly at the fish, then just sort of stayed where she was. |
Archie shook his head, seeming content for now. "No, I'm okay. I don't want to make you go out again, anyway...I don't want to be rude."
Léan finished up his fish, and then sighed, turning over to float in a carefree manner on his back. |
Monty chuckled softly. "Its not a problem, besides....I'm a little restless."
Emy soon finished and moved over to him a little. "What were you doing before we ate?" |
Archie played with his fingers, then looked up at him again. "...If you really want to, then go ahead, but...if you don't want to, you don't have to..." he said, finally.
"Scoping out the territory," Léan clarified, simply. "Finding out what's around us." |
Monty smiled and nodded, darting off again to find another fish for Archie. He felt useful, and he liked the feeling.
Emy nodded slightly. "That's what I figured." |
Archie watched him, curiously. He was wondering why the strange male was being so helpful. Then again, he didn't mind being treated nicely.
Léan sighed, flipping over onto his stomach to float. He seemed on-edge. |
Monty returned after a couple minutes with a fish about the same size of his last one. "Here you are."
Emy watched him for a moment, arms slowly moving the wrap around herself, tail moving slightly. She felt unnerved by something. "Are you alright?" |
Archie's tail 'wagged' again, and he took it, slowly and gingerly. "Thank you..." he murmured, shyly. He was smiling again.
"I'm fine," Léan assured her, gently. "I'm simply wondering what to do next." |
Monty nodded and smiled a little, then settled near him.
Emy moved to him slowly gently touching his hand. "You know...you can do whatever you like." She looked at him softly, something odd in her eyes, but she soon looked at his hand. |
Archie ate his fish delicately. Unlike Léan, who scarfed it down as soon as he had his hands on it and it was dead. He was a bit less forceful than his brother was.
Léan blinked, and then cleared his throat. His mind had immediately gone to the gutter, upon hearing the odd tone in her voice. But he didn't seem embarrassed. |
Monty just watched him a little before glancing about. He needed something to occupy him.
Emy blinked, then looked at him, suddenly realizing what he'd been thinking of. She just looked smiley for a moment, then lowered her eyes for a moment. "If that's what you'd like to do..." She sort of looked as if she'd like to, but that wasn't something she'd force. |
Archie finished up his fish after a moment, then shifted, laying himself out. On closer inspection, he looked much skinnier than Léan...who was already skinny, himself. It was an unhealthy weight.
Léan went pink. "I...no, I..." He didn't say anything more. It wasn't something he was comfortable doing within a hundred-mile radius of other people. |
