Léan had doven under quite quickly. The look on his face...it was like an old wound had been reopened tenfold. He was curled up in the back of the big cave, tightly, hiding his face now.

Once everyone was in the cave, Archie tried to keep Monty and Emy away from Léan for a moment. "I'm sorry...he's probably panicking. Our mother...she was pulled up by a human boat, you see..."

Monty nodded, understanding and stayed away like he was asked.

Emy on the other hand was worried, taking her hand from Monty's and moving over to Leandre before she could be stopped. "Leandre...." She came close to him, but stayed out of arm's length, to be polite and not to make him freak out.

Léan stayed where he was, tightly curled up, trying to make himself as small and unnoticeable as possible. Humans alone were bad enough...fishing boats were terrifying.

Archie sighed, settling down to rest. It was all they could do while the boat was out there.

Léan recoiled, like he was afraid of her. But he didn't try to escape. It didn't even sound like he was breathing--he was so quiet, trying to hide from the humans even though they were all out of sight.

Archie couldn't get comfortable where he was. He still missed having someone to cuddle with.

Emy was saddened that he recoiled like he did, but she wasn't going to let go of him. She stayed where she was, knowing it'd be better to be there then to swim off and leave him like this.

Monty watched them, with a sort of pity of his face, then noticed how Archie was acting, getting a more sympathetic look than pity. He moved to him and gently wrapped his arms around him in a comforting way.

Léan did not like humans. But putting them in a boat, with a means to pull him up and hurt him...that hatred turned to raw fear, and animal instinct kicked in. He stayed perfectly still.

Archie rested his head against Monty's chest cozily, closing his eyes. It didn't occur to him that Emy or his brother could see.

Emy's full attention was currently on Leandre. "Leandre....I love you...I won't let them hurt you..." She whispered softly, still having a firm and gentle hold on him.

Monty could hear Emy's whispers, making him feel for both of them, but he just held Archie. Trying to take his mind off of it.

Léan rested his head slowly on her shoulder, staying as still as possible while he did this.

Archie looked worried. He looked up at Monty, curiously. "...Maybe one of us should keep watch, and tell him when the boat is gone. Fishing boats are usually here for a while, though...maybe he'd be better off going to sleep or something..."

Emy was glad he was coming around even a little. She heard what Archie said and decided to give it a shot. "Baby...maybe you should get some sleep..." Her voice was soft and loving, with a hint of protectiveness.

Monty nodded slightly and moved. "I'll do first watch, if there are no objections."

Léan took a final look around the cave, closely, before closing his eyes and curling up more. He didn't think he'd be able to sleep well, at the moment, but he would try.

Archie frowned. "...Maybe we should just stay by the entrance of the cave. The boats are only dangerous if they're using really big nets that trawl across the ocean floor, or if they're sending down scuba divers..."

Emy smiled a little when Lean seemed to try and sleep. She relaxed against him, though felt worried when Archie mentioned divers. It could be possible considering there was coral nearby.

Monty flicked his tail slightly. He'd had a bad experience with a diver before. "I guess I could stay here..." He moved back to Archie with a protective look, moving so he was nearest to the entrance.

Léan didn't seem too frightened a the prospect of divers. It was simply the sight of humans in a fishing vessel that sent him overboard...

Archie seemed relieved. He would recognize the sounds of a diver, if one came. They would have enough time to escape before being seen.

Emy just relaxed though, knowing they'd tell them if the divers came or if the ship left. She nuzzled against Leandre slightly, then relaxed and closed her eyes. If she was relaxed, maybe he'd go to sleep.

Monty soon relaxed a little as well, but gently held onto Archie. In more a protective way than anything else.

Léan's guard slowly began to drop. Finally, he began to ease off into a fitful, but semi-deep sleep. He would be all right for a while.

Archie rested his head against Monty's chest, affectionately. Overjoyed that he had someone to help and protect him, as well as someone to cuddle with.

Emy stayed awake, not really feeling sleepy, just listening to Lean sleep. She could hear his heart beat with her ear against the nape of his neck, which put a small smile on her face. Whenever he would move in his sleep from discomfort or whatever, she'd gently nuzzled his neck to try and calm him down.

Monty smiled a little when Archie did that, but still had to pay attention to what was going on outside the cave.

Her presence was indeed comforting to him. Léan would start to act up, and then he would completely relax.

Archie was listening intently. He didn't hear any divers, which was a good sign...

Emy loved that he was sleeping, but also that she was so much of a help to him. She felt useful at that moment, which made her happy.

Monty seemed to relax as time went on and there was no notion of divers. Though, after a little bit, something made him stiffen. There was something in the water now.

Léan, thankfully, was in too deep a sleep to hear the noise. It was a good thing, otherwise he would panic and possibly lash out and attack whatever was in the water.

Archie heard it as well. "I'm paler...I'll blend in with the sand..." He leaned over Monty, and then briefly peeked his head out, making sure that he couldn't be seen properly from any angle.

Emy had heard it and glanced over, suddenly extremely nervous, glancing at Lean to see if he'd react.

Monty was about to protest, but Archie had already moved. He stayed quiet and suddenly looked as nervous as Emy felt. There was a fuzzy figure near the coral area that Monty and Archie had been earlier.

Léan was in too deep of a sleep.

"There's a fuzzy thing near the coral we were at earlier...I can't tell if it's a diver...should I watch for a few more moments and make sure?" Archie whispered, softly. His voice was too soft for the figure to hear.

Emy just laid still, holding sleeping Lean.

Monty thought a moment, then nodded slowly. "But be very careful..."

Léan rested his head against her collarbone, soft little snores leaking out of his mouth.

Archie continued to watch, making sure he was as out of sight as was possible.

Emy smiled softly down at Lean. Somehow, just his soft snores seemed to make her relax a little.

Monty wrung his hands in a small nervous gesture. He couldn't see, so he didn't see the figure move slightly closer to them.
