Léan stayed asleep...a good thing, since he would panic if he realized something was outside the cave.
Archie slowly pulled his head in. "...We should move to the back of the cave..." he whispered, quietly, budging up slightly so they could move. "It's dark back there...it's moving closer...whatever it is might not be able to see us..." |
Emy listened to them, then looked at them with a conflicted face. How was she supposed to move Lean? If she woke him, he'd freak out and do something stupid most likely.
Monty shook his head slightly, looking slightly indecisive. "Umm....I don't know....could you help move Lean?" He asked softly, sort of tense. |
Archie glanced back at his brother, then gauged where he was. "...He's far back enough...just...just tug him a bit..." He quickly moved and wrapped his arms around Léan, tugging him backwards to the very back of the cave, where there was just enough space to cram all four of them in.
Léan squirmed, but did not wake up. He was in a very deep sleep. |
Emy moved with Lean, moving her back against him now, looking protective. Her eyes fixed on the opening of the cave.
Monty glanced at them, then at the entrance, slowly taking a defensive position in front of Archie. Hoping, that Emy could defend Lean while he slept if she had to. |
Archie tugged Monty back just a bit more, pointedly, and then made sure they were all packed into the back of the cave. He also shifted to the side slightly, so that Monty could get out quickly if he wanted to.
Then, he waited, to see if the figure would notice them. |
Monty blinked slightly, then braced himself to spring when he heard the sound of the water being disturbed a little bit outside of the cave.
Emy's eyes suddenly widened when she realized that she'd left her spears outside the cave. She said nothing though, just got ready to defend her mate if she needed to. |
Archie was not a fighter. He was more of a...fleer. He could easily defend Emy and his brother, if it was needed. He stayed right by Monty's side, holding him back until he was sure they would need to attack.

The figure soon cast a shadow into the front of the cave, it seemed to be searching for something. There had been a litter of fish bones around and the spears. It did look a little suspicious.
Emy tensed herself, ready to spring at any moment. As did Monty, though Archie holding him back kept him from just going at the figure. |
Archie was good at hiding. He reached over slowly and urged the other two to close their eyes mostly, so that they wouldn't be seen in the darkness. He stayed perfectly still after that. It was very dark in the back of the cave...too dark to see without a proper sort of light.

Emy and Monty looked at Archie, then at each other, nodding before they closed their eyes.
The figure though, shown a light around the edges of the opening of the cave. Even with their eyes closed, they could see the light in the dark cave. |
Archie began to panic, and then heard something else outside...something that could possibly save the day. Wandering around, heading towards the entrance of the cave...was the shark from earlier, dying for an easy meal. He rounded the corner, setting eyes on the seemingly helpless figure.

The figure soon noticed the shark and seemed to panic and swim off as fast as it could.
Emy knew that the figure wouldn't be able to make it if the shark really wanted to eat. She chewed on her lip, then took a deep breath and darted out of the cave, grabbing a spear that still lay at the cave entrance. |
Archie darted out as well, and grabbed her tail with both hands. "...If that figure is a human...it's a terrible idea to get involved..." he admitted, softly. "Just leave it alone...I don't think the shark is going to attack him..." The shark was drifting around near the figure, looking a bit territorial but nothing more. "Sharks won't attack humans, usually..."

Emy looked sort of conflicted, not at all surprised when Archie grabbed her tail. She struggled slightly, but soon relaxed and just closed her eyes. It'd scared her....even if they'd been in potential danger from the human, she didn't want one getting hurt. She waited for Archie to release her, so she could go back to Lean.
Monty peaked at them, with a shocked and worried look on his face. |
Archie gently led her back into the cave. "...See, he's going back to the ship, now..." he commented, pointing upwards. The figure seemed to be retreating back to the ship.

Emy glanced at the retreating human, then at the shark. She was still slightly suspicious, but went back to the cave without much of a fuss. When she entered the cave, she shot over to Lean and smoothly came up to him, nuzzling against him and closing her eyes, holding onto him.

Archie seemed very shaken, and he lowered himself to the floor of the cave. His skin was much paler than usual...
Léan unconsciously snuggled closer to her in his sleep. |
Monty glanced at Emy, then slowly moved over to Archie. "Are you...alright?" He asked softly, looking at him a little worried.

Archie nodded, and then sniffed slightly. "Léan doesn't like humans. I'm...just deathly afraid of them," he murmured, shoulders up to his chin. "I need to lie down for a while..."

Monty nodded slightly, moving close to him and gently wrapped his arms around him. "Is this ok? Or...should I leave you alone?"

"This is fine." Archie settled into his grasp at once, eyelids drifting closed. He was sure all four of them needed a nice nap after what just happened...

Monty just held him gently, relaxing a little bit. Though, he watched the entrance a little, making sure that the diver wouldn't come back after the shark had gone.

Archie was soon calm...and he started to drift off into a nice sleep. It was much-needed, after their close call. He suddenly jolted awake. "Ah. We should bring the spears in..."

Monty blinked, then nodded slightly. "I'll go get them....you sleep." He said softly and slowly moved to the entrance of the cave.

Archie didn't sleep. He stayed alert, watching Monty the whole time. He wouldn't sleep, knowing that he could possibly be in danger.
