Emy blinked slightly. "Mate? So...you guys don't marry in your society?" She looked a little confused.

"No. We don't." Léan frowned at the sudden mention of marriage. "Our society does not have that institution. We mate, and we mate for life as long as the love still lasts."

Emy blinked and looked away for a moment. "I guess that's sort of the same thing. Just not the permenant part." She nodded to herself. Then smiled and looked at him. "Well, I've talked to my uncle. He'll be here tomorrow and we can bust you out tomorrow night. Will that work?"

Léan perked up a bit, his tail swishing back and forth eagerly beneath the water. "Yes. Of course that will work. I am ready to leave whenever you want me ready..."

Emy smiled a little more, then looked a little thoughtful when she looked at him. "I have a request that you might think a little odd."

Léan tilted his head, puzzled. "Um...all right. What is this odd request you seem so set on...requesting...of me?" he asked, curiously.

Emy smiled a little slyly. "Do you mind if I swim in here?"
|
Léan arched a blonde eyebrow. "...? As long as you don't disturb me, I don't mind. It is salt water, though, so be careful not to swallow it or breathe it in."

Emy smiled. "I know. Besides, I'm used to salt water." She stood and stopped for a moment. "Could you close your eyes, please."

Léan, instead of closing his eyes, turned to face the other way. "Even better. I am not looking." He sounded a bit more lively, now. Socializing, while he was not fond of it, was one of the reasons merpeople died in captivity--they did not get enough of it.

Emy chuckled softly. "That works." She quickly stripped to her underware. Then smoothly dove into the water, barely making a spash. She dolphin kicked to the bottom, then turned and smiled up at him.

Léan ducked his head underwater, then tilted his head. He knew humans were not used to nudity or anything close to it, but it was more prevalent with his race. Males rarely ever clothed themselves. Females often did, but not all the time. It was accepted.

Emy looked up at him, then expertly swam around the rocks and obsticles in his enclosure. Her expression was that of pure bliss. She hadn't been able to do stuff like this in a long time. After about three minutes she swam straight up and broke the water for air and laughed happily.

Léan was puzzled. "Has it been that long since you swam?" he asked, curiously. Then again, he wasn't one to speak--she could swim, but he couldn't walk.

Emy rubbed the back of her head a little. "That obvious, huh?" She looked down at herself and blushed softly. "Well, so much for those. Probably should've brought a suit." She looked back at him and smiled more. "Well, the last time I swam was about two years ago. We used to live by the ocean and I could go swimming in the reefs all the time. I spent more time in the water then on land. My father used to joke on whether I was human or fish." She chuckled softly, then looked a little sad. "After my mother died, we left her and the ocean and came here." She shook her head a little and dove back under the water, obviously not wanting to talk about it anymore.

Léan didn't push her about it. He had yet to really speak in-depth about the rest of his family. He had his brother, of course, but he had had parents...

After about four minutes this time, she came back up, sort of gasping for air. "Ok...can't stay down that long." She chided herself. After she caught her breath, she sighed sort of irritated, then looked at him. "I'm sorry, but you do not mind if I take these off, do you? I use to swim nude at night and it was always much easier to move." She looked sort of embarrased to ask, more than the thought of actually being nude in front of him.

Léan blinked, then shook his head. "No, I don't mind. Nudity is widely accepted in my culture so I, for the most part, am not affected by it."

Emy nodded slightly. "For the most part, huh?" She shrugged and turned her back to him and took off her bra and underware. Then smiled slightly. "Ahhh....much better." She smiled and looked over her shoulder. "Do you have enough energy to join me? Or would you be too fast for me?"

"I would probably be too fast for you. I spend 99% of my time in the water," Léan reminded her. The 1% he didn't was when he hopped out on land to bask in the sun or eat tropical fruits. Or escape danger underwater.

Emy chuckled softly. "I figured as much. Well, try to have fun, even if it includes frustrating me by swimming circles around me." She smiled at him, though there was a little jealousy in her eyes as she dove back under the water.

Just to tease her, Léan did indeed swim in circles around her, several times. He was enjoying himself, though he would have to take a rest soon. It was wearing on him.

Emy did get irritated after a while, but smiled when she knew it was just to mess with her. She tried not to laugh too much and swallow too much water. She swam behind a large rock and hid, peaking out to see if he was following her.

Léan didn't follow her. Instead, he showed off his skills in the water by flipping around, doing front and back-flips. It seemed he liked to tease people.

Emy's eyes shone with both awe and jealousy as she watched him.
