Léan halted after a few minutes, feeling tired. He laid himself out on the rocks once more, resting his head on his tail. All that movement had drained him...completely drained him.
Emy was suddenly very worried and she swam up to him and gently touched his arm. She couldn't speak, but she looked at him with worried and questioning eyes.
"I'm fine." Léan's voice sounded much the same in water. "Just a little tired..." He looked a lot more comfortable underwater than he did above water.
Emy didn't look convinced, but her eyes looked a little conflicted. She moved closer and gave him a peck on the cheek and a small smile. Then started up to the surface.
Léan went pink and shot her an accusing glance before curling back up to sleep. He wasn't used to close contact, apparently. He didn't seem angry, though.
Emy didn't know what to think of his reaction really. Maybe he'd never been kissed on the cheek before...or ever. She glanced back at him curiously before she climbed out and looked around for a towel, shivering a little.
Léan closed his eyes, shifting a bit to get comfortable on the rough plastic rock. He missed the ocean. Dearly. He would be so happy to return to it--he'd give up just about anything.
She'd finally found a towel and wrapped herself in it after drying off. She hung her underware by a heater in the room in the back so they'd dry. She then sat on the walkway and thought.
Léan couldn't seem to get to sleep. Instead, he just rested where he was, a content look on his face. He tried not to think about anything at all so he could fully relax.
Emy knew that he wasn't asleep, but didn't say anything or touch the water. She just sort of relaxed, though she was thinking about the plan to get him out of this place and into the ocean again.
Léan's perpetual relaxation eventually led to him falling into a deep, restful sleep. He was looking forward to getting out of this place once and for all, and he hoped they weren't caught.
Emy was now both mentally and physically worn out. After a couple minutes she unconciously laid on on the walkway and fell asleep.
Léan woke up a few minutes later, shaken out of sleep by a nightmare. He shook it off and looked up, wearily. He blinked upon seeing she was still there. He mustered up the strength to swim up to the surface, amused when he found her asleep. He shook her shoulder, gently. "You should go home."
Emy was sleeping peacefully when she was awoken. She blinked a little and smiled softly when she saw him. Then she noticed that she was still there and had fallen asleep. "Yeah...I probably should." She looked a little embarrased, but sat up and fixed the towel around herself. Then smiled at him. "You need to rest. Go back to sleep, k? You might need to help tomorrow, so get as much strength built up as you can." She thought about doing something, but thought better of it. "I'll see you in the morning." She smiled and went back to get dressed.
Léan nodded wordlessly and sank down below the surface to find a comfortable spot once more. He was extremely tired and just wanted to sleep. He could be lazy sometimes, but he hurt--every bone in his body ached...
Emy was sort of self concious when she left...and a little paranoid. She was looking over her shoulder every now and then to make sure she wasn't being followed. By who know's what. She didn't even have a reason to be paranoid, she just was. She climbed over the wall beside the gates. The gaurds had left at least an hour or two ago. She walked out to her car, all alone in the parking lot.
Léan didn't have any more nightmares until the afternoon, when he woke up. He was playing with his brother--playing tag. Then, suddenly, a dark, looming shadow enveloped them. He was thrown out of sleep, and sat up rather quickly.
Emy hadn't been able to come in the morning, because she'd slept in too late and had to make sure her sister and father wouldn't be home that night. Her father would be out with some friends and her sister at a friend's house for the night. At around 3pm she showed up at the aquarium in black skinny jeans with dark red accessories on her wrists, shoes, neck and waist. Her earrings dangled with black skull-n-crossbones symbol and she had on a sort of camando hat with a large skull'n'crossbones pin on it. Her hair in messy pigtails. She smiled and waved down at him a little when she walked out over the tank. "Hey. Are you alright?"
Léan floated up to greet her. "I'm all right. I got a good amount of sleep, thankfully...I feel a little better." He certainly looked a little better--some of the color had returned to his skin.
Emy smiled happily. "That's great! Now keep relaxing. My uncle will be here at about dinner time. So we'll set things up then."
Léan nodded, and then his stomach grumbled. He cleared his throat. "Well, it looks like I'll have to take care of something else before I settle down for my rest."
Emy chuckled. "Yes, I'm here for more than one reason." She smiled and grabbed a bucket of fish by the door and put a couple in the water.
Léan chased after them. By the time he'd caught and eaten both of them, he was exhausted. "Could you just leave the bucket there on the walkway, or hand them to me? I don't think I'm strong enough to chase after more of them..."
Emy nodded slightly. "Of course. I should've just done that in the first place I suppose." She sat on the walkway and held out a fish for him, but looked away so he could kill it.
Léan reached his hands up and grabbed the squirming fish. He snapped its spine, with a loud crunch, and then started to eat it. He had no problem doing this.
