Taking a shrimp, Andy peeled it and nibbled on it. She wasn't all that fond of lobster or crab, but she liked shrimp.
"Well..." she said slowly. "If you know where they are... I hate to say it, because it shouldn't sound so easy to kill a person, but... Snapping someone's neck is the quickest, most painless way to kill them. You said you didn't want to torture anyone, so that would be the best way. And if we could sneak up on them, do it from a distance..." She didn't want to do it, she hated the thought of using her power to kill someone, but if it had to be done... |
"I won't witness it, I refuse to. Jason?" She asked and turned to look at him and touched his cheek. "Can you remember where it was?" She asked and looked around. She was upset, she knew it had to be done, and even after the wielders died... There was still an army. With a captain. Who wouldn't let this down. But none of them with powers to match hers. Andy and Jason could go home while she finished the war. They had no reason to stay, they had a life back home.
Andy understood Tomiko's sentiments.
"We don't have to, if you have another plan," she said. "I'm just giving you the fastest option." Personally, she'd be more comfortable with another option. As it stood, she'd probably have to be on a high to kill seven men. Elsewise, she wouldn't be able to make herself do it. |
"Well, let's just... Let's scare them tonight. See if they don't start backing down? Then tomorrow we can make a final decision?" She wrapped an arm around Jason, laying on him. "I don't want any death, but if it's what has to be done... Then..." She shrugged and took a deep breath. "I'm sorry you have to be apart from Nathaniel, he must be worried about you here. As well as your son. I've heard a lot about you from Nathaniel too. He's a good guy." She said and grinned. Nathaniel... She was at first attracted to the male, but overtime she realized the age difference and his already being in love with another woman... It didn't work, and she didn't mind, especially when he spoke of Jason. It sounded so promising. And it was. She fell for Jason the instant she saw him, no matter how snobbish he had come off.
Andy twisted the plain silver promise ring on her finger. She wanted to be home, not on the other end of the planet. She hated being away from her boyfriend and her son, and the fact that she was away from them to potentially kill several people made it worse.
"He asked me to marry him," she said softly, still playing with the ring. It was obviously not an engagement ring. |
"He told me. He also told me you said no." She said and touched her hand gently. "I think you made the right decision to wait... and I don't judge others for their decisions. But why didn't you say yes and just make sure the wedding wasn't until after your graduation?" This coming from the girl who wanted so badly to have sex with her boyfriend the previous night with his sister in the room! She didn't have the right to question anything. "How big was Riley when he came out?" She asked and smiled. It was nice to have girl talk, she had always wondered what it was like.
"Because I want the engagement to be on my terms, not because someone foretold it," Andy replied, still fiddling with the ring. She smiled a bit when Tomiko asked about Riley. "He was eight pounds, ten ounces. A bit bigger than average, but also not the biggest ever, so it could have been worse." She missed holding her son, though she tried not to let it show. She was so used to appearing strong that it didn't occur to her.
"Who does he look like? Nathaniel said you, but with a hint of him. Do you have a picture?" She asked and grinned, the kid sounded adorable from what Nathaniel had said. "How old is he now? He was born in June or July?" She asked counting months in her head. It wasn't a year just yet, but getting there.
[[That's all I got. Sorry.]] |
((that's fine))
"He's almost a year old," Andy replied, taking out her phone. She was fairly sure she had a picture of Riley in her phone, but if she didn't, she was sure she could send a message to Nathaniel and get him to send her a picture. "He was born in June." She couldn't find a picture in her phone, so she ended up sending Nathaniel a message asking if he had one. |
Tomi took the phone and smiled. "He's so cute!" She said and smiled, grabbing a shrimp and peeled back the shell and slipped it past her lips. "How do you... control it?" She asked quietly and glanced at Jason. She reached up, kissed his chin and glanced away. "Can you go and play with the kids? Quietly?" She asked and bit her lower lip.
"Do I get an interpreter?" Jason asked. He grinned. "Kidding. Gone." Returning the kiss, he got up and went outside to give them some 'girl time'. That wasn't something he wanted to be around for, anyways.
"Alright, now that he's gone, what did you want to ask?" Andy asked, taking her phone back. She looked at the picture of her son for a moment before putting her phone away. |
"How do you control your highs. All you did was get a little bitchy but you weren't moaning in want half lunatic and out of your mind. How do you control it?" She asked and moved to sit up against the wall. She stuck a piece of crab between her lips and spun a finger in the water, warming it a bit. She liked her food warm, not cold. "Wait a second." She stood and went to the window and smiled at one of the younger boys. "Nii? Can you speak for Jason? Thank you." She went back to Andy and frowned. "I don't want to do something to your brother I'm not ready for. I just had my first kiss with him like... 2 or 3 days ago, I'm not ready for sex but if I keep... If I keep getting like that I don't know how to stop myself."
"I'll admit that I have a bit of an unfair advantage," Andy replied. "I was twelve when I first got my power, and I've actually only ever had Nathaniel as a boyfriend. It's a bit easier to ignore it, or to take care of it yourself, when you're on your own." She stretched her arms a little, just enough to make her joints pop. "I also know myself well enough to know what just makes things worse, and moving around definitely makes things worse. My clothes rub my skin and things can get way out of hand. And I wasn't kidding when I said that sleeping it off helps."
"It's embarrassing." She whispered on the term of helping out herself out those times. "Especially with him there, but I... I feel that I need him with me. It's just that strong." She whispered and bit her lip. "Wh... What do you advise at least? Get over my wierdness and get myself off, or do I sleep it off no matter how much it... gahh it just sucks and everyones hearing the moans for over an hour, or do I... No I can't just bow to sex with him."
"I would just say to do whatever you're comfortable with," Andy replied. "I just told you how I handled it. It's up to you to decide what to do." Taking out her phone again, she looked at the picture of Riley. She missed her family... And she was sure that Riley missed her. She'd never been away for this long before.
She watched Andy look at her phone. "You know a harsher but faster way to kill them... don't you?" She said and glanced away. "Do it. Do it so you can go home and see your kid, and you need to see your kid and your... you should really marry him... So..." She closed her eyes, covering them with her palms. "I love these people and you love your son and boyfriend. So let's just do what needs to be done. What do you need me to do. One more high and then it stops... I can deal with it. Just tell me."
"I hate the idea of killing people," Andy said softly. "But... It would be fastest to snap their necks from a distance..." She didn't want to kill anyone, but she knew it would be the fastest way to get back to her son and boyfriend. And she would do anything for them.
"I would normally not condone this violence, even my plan was last resort... But." She shrugged and stood. "Jason." She called and smiled sadly at the male. She turned to look at Andy. "Do what you have to, a kid needs their parents. Both of them, trust me." She said and grinned, glancing out the window at the home she had just been banished from. "I will never blame you for the deaths of the men. And when I earn my kingdom back I hope you and your family will visit." Her statement... She wasn't going back with Jason, she didn't belong there.
"You might not, but... They probably have families too, you know?" Andy pointed out. "I don't want to be the one responsible for taking some child's father away from them..." She sighed and put her phone away again.
Jason heard his name being called and managed to get away from the crowd of kids long enough to get back to where the two girls were. "I heard my name, what?" |
"They dont..." She said and leaned against the wall. "Wielders are... We cant have children. They drown inside us and the mens sperm is all water. It doesnt make much sense, I know. The only water wielder to ever have a child was a woman and she had to focus every second of her day to keep the water from crushing or drowning the baby while it was inside her. The child died of malnourishment because it then didnt get enough water once it was born. He died after 7 hours of being born. Imagine nine months of that kind of hell just to watch your baby die after 7 hours." She sighed and glanced at Jason. "We... Andy has a plan."
"That sounds like control issue to me," Andy murmured after a moment.
"A plan?" Jason asked. "Does it involve impersonating a Sith or something?" He meant it mostly as a joke, but not completely. He knew what any plan involving his sister would most likely entail. |
"Maybe, but not for the men. Its seriously watersperm. They dont have kids, i promise you. And it they have wives,, why leave them for 3 months to go and live with a bunch of men for 40 miles of property on the edge of being a swamp?" She asked and then glanced at Jason. "She can kill them. Instant. But other than it being wrong morally, why should we not do it?"
"Let me guess," Jason said when Tomiko told him that his sister had a plan for instand death. "She suggested something like snapping their necks, or crushing them somehow." It wasn't really hard to guess, not with what he knew about his sister's talent. "Maybe crushing the windpipe or choking them."
"Yup. There isn't a painless way to do it? I suppose snapping their necks is... fast enough..." She sighed, holding back tears. She didn't want this THIS way. She wanted them to give up, surrender. But this was war. It wasn't going to stop. She took Jason's hand and pulled him close enough so she stood on tip toes and pressed her face into his neck and held him close. She didn't want to talk anymore.
"A telepath would be better than me for something like that," Andy said. She saw her brother wrap his arms around Tomiko and hold her close, and she didn't comment. "A telepath can go in and just... switch off someone's brain. I don't know how we would make them surrender, though..."
