"ME!? YOU are going to spoil him rotten. You loan him 10,000 dollars to buy an engagement and wedding ring. I will not be the one spoiling him, thank you." He said and smirked, moving to kiss the back of her hand. "Not that I mind, he's worth spoiling." He said and grinned, as Riley slowly awakened again, blinking then holding his arms out to Jason.
|
"We both spoil him, then," Andy said. Reaching over, she took Riley gently and held him close to her. "We'll both spoil him, because he's our son and we love him." She smiled a bit when Riley cuddled into her arms, and she let him get comfortable. "And if he ends up with any siblings, we'll do the same with them."
|
"Can I spoil the girls and you spoil him. I dunno what to get a boy who ends up... nevermind." He didn't know how much her family knew and how open they were. Especially her father. "We'll spoil them equally, but I will not buy barbies for ANY of them." He said and shuddered. "Bad self image and whatnot."
|
Andy rolled her eyes.
"As if you'll be able to say no if we have a little girl and she turns the big puppy eyes on you," she teased. The light-hearted teasing was making her feel better after what happened earlier. She looked down at Riley. "What about you, little guy? You want a baby sister?" |
"I am not weak against puppy eyes. I am a man, strong. Incapable of being weak to puppy dog eyes." He said and grinnedas Riley stuck his hand on her stomach and his eyes closed. Nathaniel frowned moving to touch him to see if he was okay, but Riley opened his eyes and started to cry immediately. "Was that...." Nana nodded and Nathaniel frowned. Out of all the gifts he could have gotten.
|
Andy held Riley and rocked him a bit, trying to soothe him.
"Riley, baby, it's okay," she said softly. She kissed his forehead. It had surprised her that he was able to tell, but it didn't surprise her for long. "Baby, don't cry... Once Mommy is better, we'll see about a baby sister for you." She held him until he calmed down again. |
"Babe... I'm not sure what he saw... But I think he's got my power, just... he already has vision. He saw something bad." He said as he grabbed a rising fork and frowned. "Andy, control your powers. Nurses can come in at any minute." He said, setting the fork back down. It started rising again and his eyes widened. "Down." he muttered, setting his hand on it.
|
Andy frowned, and suppressed her power more. The fork kept floating back up, and so did a couple of the napkins.
"It's not me," she said. She glanced down at Riley, who still looked upset. "I think it's Riley. Maybe he can leech off of me like you do." She stroked Riley's hair gently and spoke to him softly. "Baby, it's okay. Everything is alright, you don't need to be upset." |
"Even I can't take your powers that much. Riley... Riley sweety, raise this. Make this float." Riley blinked through tears and made it rise. Nathaniel grabbed it and frowned. "Well, this can't be good. Hey mom... how did you tote Andy around as a child when she could make things go up...?"
|
"Andy was almost eight when we realized what her talent was," Andy's mother replied. "Before that, she either didn't use her talent around other people, or she didn't have it."
"I didn't have it," Andy added. "It manifested about the time I turned eight, and it really blossomed when I was eleven." After a moment of thought, she handed Riley to her mother. "Riley, sweetie, try to make that fork float again." If he was just leeching from her, then he wouldn't be able to do it, because her mother had no power to leech. |
Riley shook his head and pushed away from his grandmother. He cried and things started floating. "I didn't get visions until I was 5 or 6... And they weren't strong." Nathaniel said, pushing down objects. "I'm so... confused. What do we have, some super baby?" He asked and stuck his hands in his pockets.
|
Andy actually had a theory, but she needed to wait until Riley had calmed down to test it. Reaching over, she gently pulled Riley over again and held him, rocking him slowly.
"It's alright, sweetie," she said softly. "But I need you to stop making things float, okay? Just until you go home with Daddy." |
"What's your suspicions?" He asked and frowned, watching Jason check his phone. "Go call her. We're fine here." He said and smiled sadly. Tomiko needed to come back to America as soon as possible. Jason was starting to go nuts, who knew what another couple months would do to him.
|
"I'm thinking that this won't be a regular thing," Andy replied as she rocked Riley. "I don't think he's ever been this upset before... and he's definitely never displayed this kind of talent before, either. So maybe it's only triggered when he's upset enough." She kissed Riley's forehead gently. "Baby, what's got you so sad?" she asked him softly.
|
"So when he gets sad he has our powers. He had a vision when he touched your stomach. I can only guess what he saw... And how he managed to understand it..." He whispered and touched Rileys hand. "I have things that need to be done at the house so I need to leave. Bills to pay and whatnot." He muttered and frowned, watching Jason reenter the room. "She's in a meeting." He said and Nathaniel nodded. "I'm sorry she's not available." Nathaniel looked at Andy and smiled. "We'll see you tomorrow, alright? Or, do you want to keep Riley and your mom can bring him to the house later?"
|
Andy handed Riley to him.
"Go ahead and take him home with you," she said. "He needs to calm down, and it's best he's at home until he does. Besides, he'll probably feel better with his toys and things with him." She sighed. "I wish I knew what upset him so badly..." |
"He touched your stomach, had a vision which he's not used too, levitated things, I can understand if he's upset. I would be too. It's scary..." He muttered and held his son. "Come on Jason." He said and then leaned up to kiss his fiance. "I'll see you tomorrow babe."
|
Leaning over, andy kissed Riley's forehead and then gave Nathaniel a kiss.
"I'll see you tomorrow, then," she said. "It's not like I'm going anywhere." She settled back into the bed to prove her point. "Take Riley home, make sure he gets to bed when he should, the whole nine yards." After they left, the rest of her family filtered out, leaving her to doze off and drift in and out of sleep for a while. |
"Okay. I love you." He said and kissed her once more. "Love you." He was pushed out of the room and to Jasons truck. "Thanks for driving me Jase." He said and moved to help put the carseat in the truck. He grabbed the wheelchair and pushed himself up and grabbed the truck. He pulled himself in and held his hands out for the child.
|
Jason helped him put the car seat in, and then handed him Riley once he was settled.
"No problem," he said. "And if you're going to shorten my name even more than it is, you may as well call me Jae." He didn't like how 'Jase' sounded much. |
"I guess I'll be sticking to Jason then, sorry about that. My uncle Jay was a rapist, never liked the name much after that." Nathaniel said and shrugged. "That's life though... You win some you lose some. So... How are you doing? With Tomiko and all?"
[[gah short. blah. sorrry. >.<]] |
"She hasn't been here for almost a month," Jason pointed out as he started the truck. "And I can only really call her at unholy hours of the night, because of the time difference. Not to mention I could be called back a third time, because they sent me back last time." He sent Nathaniel a flat look. "A little warning would have been nice, by the way."
|
"I didn't know... Jason..." He said and then rolled his eyes. "I wasn't looking for a vision of that, and so I didn't get it. I'm sorry Jason, but you know she loves you." He said and took out Rileys thumb from his mouth, keeping in mind what his girlfriend said.
"If it helps, I HAVE seen a vision of you two together. It was a ways ahead, but I can focus and find out when she'll be back, if you'd like?" |
"Knowing you, you're too focused on Andy to see anything else of any use," Jason pointed out. The drive wasn't all that long, and he pulled into the driveway relatively soon. "I'll try calling her again in a bit. I still need to work on some things at the house, so I'll keep busy."
|
"Hey, don't say things like that. When you were sent away, we had just gotten back. The last thing I was looking for was you leaving again. Please don't... don't blame me for that." He said and then opened the door. "I'm going to need some help... Please?" He asked and raised an eyebrow.
