Age: 29 Race: Human Bio: Lev was raised on the sea, and has known of nothing else his entire life. He comes from a long line of pirate captains, and as such he has no knowledge of his birth mother. His father is presumed dead, having been lost during a sea battle when Lev was 12. Ever since then Lev has acted as captain of the ship, Red Gull. He rarely trusts anyone, even his own crew, except for his first mate Aiden who has been his close friend since childhood. Amelie woke finding something in her mouth preventing her from speaking. She tried to remove it, but couldn't. She felt something restraining her hands. She found out it was the same for her legs as she tried to move them. She opened her eyes and couldn't see anything either. She started to get scared and flipped out, falling to her side, hitting her head on the floor. Groaning softly in pain, she tried to move her head against the surface she was on and get the blindfold off.

Lev got up from where he sat with Aiden and walked over to where Amelie lay struggling. He crouched down with a smirk on his face. He seemed to be enjoying seeing her panic. Aiden didn't mirror his expression though. He gazed between them both in worry. It hadn't been his idea first to kidnap her, but he'd went along with it for a promise of sharing the ransom money. Both men needed that far more than her well-being. "Feel like behavin', eh?" Lev asked. "If ya do, we'll feed ya. Betcha like that." |

Amelie stiffened when she heard someone move closer. She knew what had happened now. She stayed very still, except to slowly nod her head. She wanted to seem the helpless girl they most likely thought she was. Her father would most likely pay the money, but he'd do something foolish, made the trade off an ambush or something and get her killed. She'd get her chance to escape soon enough. All she had to do was cooperate. |
Lev's smirk dissappeared, replaced by a frown, and he stood to kick at her gently. He wasn't much for being ignored. Amelie had already been enough of a frustration in attempting to kidnap her. Who knew she would be so strong? With her looks, that had been unexpected. And yet, here she was now, lying there trying to look harmless and scared. Lev knew a fake out when he saw one.
"Answer me, woman," Lev demanded. Aiden made a small move behind Lev, but the captain glanced back at his first mate with a cold gaze. Aiden stopped and sank back into the chair. He returned the captains glare though. He may be just an underling, but he wasn't going to stand for Lev's harshness if the captain went to far. Aiden kept himself tense, ready to jump up at anytime. |
Amelie knew that whoever it was, didn't buy her act. So she made a deep noise in her throat, almost a growl. As if to warn him not to touch her again or he'd pay for it as soon as she was able to deal out her promise. Then she squirmed, finally getting into a sitting up position. It looked like it had hurt to do so, but she hadn't made a sound or movement to show that it had. She made a soft murmuring noise, a slight smart-ass tone to it. Telling him he couldn't answer him if she couldn't speak.

Lev grinned. "Glad ta see you up," he said with a laugh. He reached forward and jerked the gag over her head, tossing it aside. He stepped away for a moment to take a piece of bread from the table. "Hungry?" he asked, waving the bread at her.

Amelie jerked her head away when the gag was gone. "Of course I'm hungry, idiot." She snarled. She started thinking fast how she could get out of where ever she was. She breathed in through her nose a little, smelling ocean air. She was either at a dock or at sea. She didn't hear sounds like the docks though.

Lev frowned and stepped forward to shove the piece of bread in her mouth. "Be a smartass, and I'll lock down below where ya supposed to be," he warned. Then he turned to look back at Aiden. "Going above to check our direction. Keep a watch on her," Lev ordered as he strode to the stairs and up out of sight.
Once Lev was gone, Aiden finally sighed and stood. He went over to Amelie and took the bread out of her mouth, splitting it into smaller pieces. "Heed the captains words. He won't be hesitating to slice you up if he sees fit." |
Amelie blinked and coughed slightly, growling at the man afterward. She couldn't take the food out of her mouth so she just sat there, shaking in anger. She heard another person come near her and she stiffened. Once the bread was out of her mouth she coughed a little more. "Damn him. He can do what he likes. Not like I'm gonna live through this anyways."

Aiden frowned and knelt down in front of her to push a piece of the bread in her mouth. "Didn't think somone like you would give up so easy," he replied, then took a bite of the bread himself.

Amelie chewed the bread quick and swallowed it. The glared at him. "I'm not saying I'm giving up....its not really got anything to do with you people." She looked away angrily. "My father is an idiot. Last time he almost got me killed."

Aiden pushed another piece into her mouth. "Care to explain a little more?" he asked, moving to sit back on the floor in front of her. This would probably be the only chance he got to talk with her, without Lev interrupting and being an arse all the time. He kinda felt pity for her for being caught up in something as petty as money. Not even revenge or trying to start a revolution, which would have been better, if he was going to be honest with himself.

Amelie was starting to get angry about being fed this way. She felt helpless, which made her want to hit something. "Last time, when my father came to trade with the kidnappers, I was only about eleven. I didn't know how to defend myself and my guards were crooked." She looked at the floor angrily. "My father came with hired guns and tried to take me back, resulting in me getting shot. But, luckily, the man that shot me was drunk and missed." She looked down at her shoulder. "There is a scar on my left shoulder from it."

Aiden shrugged. "So your father is a bloody arse. It's not that strange," he answered. Then he tore off another piece of bread and reached toward her face.

Amelie laughed a little. "Yeah, I guess." Though she seemed a little down about the story. She felt him reach toward her and she leaned back slightly as if to stop him from feeding her.

Aiden paused and raised an eyebrow at her. "If you don't eat something, you're gonna get sick," he said, waving the bread in her face a little.

Amelie shook her head a little. "I don't want anymore..." Her voice sounded a little fearful, but not of anything there.

Aiden sighed and stood to walk back over to the table. He tossed what was left of the bread down on the surface, then he picked up his flagon of rum. He returned to crouch before her, bringing the spout to her lips. "Drink it, or I'll force it down ya," he threatened. He didn't want to be mean about it, but he wasn't going to put up with the girl if she decided to be so damn stubborn.

Amelie could smell it before he even got to her she shook her head and tried to move back. "That stuff is horrid. It makes good people hurt others."

Aiden stared at her in disbelief. Then he sighed in irritation and reached forward suddenly, grabbing her chin roughly in his hand to pull her forward. He used his calloused thumb to pry her lips open, holding the flagon just above her mouth with the other hand. "Drink it," he ordered. "It will help."

Amelie gasped softly when he grabbed her. She had not been expecting that. "Let g-" When it was in her mouth she tried to pull away frantically. She hated this stuff. She growled at him when saw that she had no choice.

Aiden poured a good deal of it into down her throat, then finally let her go. He raised the flagon to his own lips and drank the rest in one gulp. Then he threw it back onto the table. "Whether you like it or not, it will keep you warm once Lev comes back to throw you down below with the cargo," he explained.

Amelie tried not to cough and spit it at him, swallowing painfully. It burned her throat like nothing she'd tasted before. She breathed a little painfully afterwards, glaring through the blindfold, though she knew he couldn't see it. "Ah. So you're gonna put me with the cargo so I can get all manner of diseases from the rats that are no doubt down there."
