JJ's face broke out in a smile as she watched the werewolves make burgers. The smell was utterly intoxicating! She was nearly to the point of drooling and quite glad for the little imp appetizer when Maxine had finished making the food. With a nod, the gargoyle put up her illusion and took her burger and went to find a table to sit at. She slid into a seat at an empty table right behind a group of arcanes and started to eat.

Tait turned his head to see Anya studying him. He attempted a smile, though it looked a bit weary and worn. "What ya thinkin' about?" he asked.

Zaria walked back out into the main room of the dining room, grateful to get away from the smell of garlic. Just because it didn't repel her didn't mean she necessarily liked it. Plus her face stung and she could feel it swelling. She bet it was not a pretty sight, she looked at Gabriel and whispered, "how bad is it?" Some of her vanity making her worry. She didn't want to look ugly, especially in front of him.

Gabriel raised an eyebrow at Zaria and studied her face before smiling faintly. "It's not bad....though I much prefer your face uninjured." He had to suppress a chuckle at how worried Zaria had sounded there for a second. "I'm sure you'll look fine again soon enough."

Heather sat back a bit, disappointed at the normal-ness of Anya's job. Well, what was she expecting anyway? That Anya was a private investigator? A government spy? Heather realised she'd gotten her hopes up for nothing. She tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear and struggled to think of a comment that would be suitable for Anya's job, knowing next-to nothing about the law. 'Sounds cool.' She managed lamely.

Sam nodded, and noticed Heather's discomfort. 'Sounds interesting, anything interesting happened at the office lately?' he said, sparing Heather the trouble of trying to make conversion about something she didn't understand, he shuddered as he remembered the conversation she'd had with an impressionist. They'd had to listen to him explaining 'how much of his life was being wasted by critics like you two hooligans!' for half an hour, just because Heather had complimented his 'watermelon vine', which was actually leaves floating in the breeze. Sam still didn't see it.

Another arcane took her seat behind Anya's booth. By smell, it seemed to be the one who'd broken the window. Her burger smelled good, though, and meant that Maxine almost certainly had things under control. And the cafe was only half-empty now. A non werewolf restaurant might have been fully vacated. "Just… wolves," she replied to Tait. "They have excellent teamwork skills."

She turned back to the kids and took another measured sip of water. "Sometimes it's cool. Most times it's a lot of paperwork. Oh, today, a biker my boss wasn't able to get off was released from jail. He came by the office just before closing…" He had been a big, burly man with a five o'clock shadow and fresh prison tattoos who looked like he'd belonged on a Harley since the day he'd been born. And he'd been angry. Anya had been, as usual, the first line of defense. "Um, he's going back before a judge, and we had to replace a desk."

Maxine tidied up her station, and then grabbed the first-aid kit. Promising overtime and hazardous duty pay to her packmates in the kitchen, she left them to finish clean-up and headed out to the dining area, sitting across from the happily-eating gargoyle woman. "Come on, sit down," she called out to the other arcanes. Anya was quietly talking to her friends at the other table, and that sort of socialization… Well, she wouldn't try to interrupt and discourage that. It was rare enough as it was.

Zaria totally took a seat in one of the booths and leaned her head back, just kinda relaxing. The pain in her face, though not extreme was kinda wearing. She was feeling a little bit tired and had a feeling in an hour or so blood might be on the menu. She looked over at Gabriel, "How's your arm?" she asked.

"Uh, sounds pretty intense." Heather replied, not really knowing what else to say she stared into her glass of water, thinking about possible topics for conversation. She looked over at the booth with the gargoyle in it and sighed, if that crazy arcane tried to eat her again she would be pissed. "Um, do any of you know who that is? I only met her yesterday..."

Sam looked at the hideous gargoyle-like creature and shuddered, it looked like the Arcane world was more than fairy dust and dragons. A thought occurring to him, he turned to Heather. "What else can you do? Like, magic-wise?" He asked eagerly.

Heather sighed, "Um, lots of things I guess... I've only mastered shrinking magic so far... Not even my dad's mastered all of the different types of magic." she said while continuing to look at the other booth.

"Hm, my arm is fine," Gabriel said, sitting down next to zaira. "it barely hurts now." Zaria definitely looked worse than he did. Her slightly pale look made him think that she would need her kind of food soon. "Are you sure you're alright?" he asked in turn.

JJ felt the fairy girl's eyes on her and turned her head to stare at Heather. When the gargoyle girl caught Heather's eye, she grinned, a rather unpleasant sight coming from a creature with a mouth full of fangs. JJ chuckled to herself. "I want to play with that girl some more..." she muttered under her breath.

"I'm fine, pain like this it just wears me out. Makes me need blood faster. I need the blood to truly heal." she said, looking over at him, not wanting to freak him out but wanting to be honest. "Means I'll have to go find someone to drink from or some critter. Something."

Heather shuddered as the gargoyle stared at her, it was a rather unnerving sight and she looked.... Hungry. Quickly diverting her attention she directed her gaze back at the grimy table.
