Portable computers are very useful, yes. 8D *Mai nods*
|
Lucky you. All this is over before lunchtime for me.
|
Well, not lucky so much as finally decided to throw caution to the wind and actually get a new computer... seeing how my desktop died... T_T
|
Oof. I am so lucky that hasn't happened to me, my laptop has issues with wireless connections.
|
I need to get a new mouse. This one keeps going on and off. D8
|
O.o NOES!
|
YUS. D8 But it's okay, as my laptop has a trackpad. XD I just like using a mouse better.
|
Yeah, trackpads (touchpads in NZ lol, took me a while to know what you meant) are very annoying.

PROMOTION STRATEGIES:
Team Name: Artists Task #: 1 Strategy: To help promote our street circus, I have decided to ask Cain, Evangeline Gray and Li Mei for help. I believe these NPC's would give us the greatest advantage in advertising our event. To begin, Cain is one of the most well-known and beloved individuals on Menewsha. He has countless stalkers, many of which would not hesitate to do everything he asks immediately. This, of course, would do wonders for our advertising. We thought about asking another very popular male NPC to help advertise, but then realized it would be redundant since most of the people who stalk Nalin also stalk Cain. Next, we chose Evangeline Gray, the shopkeeper of Emporio Palazzo. While she is not as well known, she is certainly a successful business woman. Since you cannot be successful without good advertising strategies, we assume that she will be very skillful in helping our cause. In addition, as one of the wealthier members of our society (she must make fortunes from her expensive sales), she probably does a lot of philanthropic work already. As a result, she won't mind helping another group of individuals with a great cause that don't have the funds to support themselves. Finally, we figured that we should let her know about it anyway, since she would probably like to attend herself. She is a mother of two children and our event is very family friendly. Finally, we decided to ask Li Mei for help. She's a very popular female NPC and would certainly help us advertise with the younger demographic. In addition, she is the owner of Accentuate and probably has many 'artsy' customers. Since we are throwing an artists' street circus, many of her customers would be very interested in seeing us and will take her up on her word. Words: 308 NPC: Cain Quote:

Your submission looks good, Siri, except you did not explain to the NPCs why helping you would be worth their while. I can accept it now, but you would not get full credit when all is said and done.
EDIT: Whoah, nevermind. That was fast. XD |
Ah, thanks. I just added it now. ;D
Sorry, I caught it after I submitted it. |
Man I have my other one done.... I'm just waiting for the pictures to upload so I can post them.

Got it, Feyona. 8D *Mai goes to get some water*
|
I might need to run away soon so I can get some breakfast and stuff. I'll try doing at least one of the promotion strategies before I head out...

PROMOTION STRATEGIES:
Team Name: Artists Task #: 4 Strategy: Snuggies @ getsnuggie.com 1. This site is successful since they offer a great deal of buying one and getting one free for only 19.95! This offer is in the top left of the site, so it is the first thing you see and you're drawn into the site. 2. They have a very fast loading youtube video in the top right corner. It's very convincing and loads quickly so it's not frustrating. 3. If you scroll down after that, they ask you to get one in order to join the 'pop culture phenomena". If you don't get one, you'll feel left out. Nintendo Wii @ nintendo.com/wii 1. Their site has a very clean layout, so it is easy to navigate. It's sleek and professional. 2. They have all the games you can buy for their console listed on their website. As a result, you know what kind of games are available before making your purchase. 3. Their top banner shows a group of adults having fun, proving that games aren't just for kids and reaching a new demographic. ipod Touch @ apple.com/ipodtouch 1. This site is also sleek and professional, making it very easy to navigate. All of the links are very clear and easy to find. 2. The rotating banner advertisements are very effective. They're large and suck you in with all the things you can do with an ipod touch. 3. If you scroll down a bit, you can see all the different models and chose the one that fits your price range. They also list the cheapest one first so it doesn't seem like much of an investment. Tokyopop @ tokyopop.com 1. They have tweets set up on the right side of their website with recent updates. This is convenient and shows they're alive and kicking, even in this economy. 2. Again, they have effective rotating banner advertisements that grab your attention and draw you in, advertising their most recent releases. 3. They have a section set aside for bestsellers and new releases, so that customers can easily find their most recent product. Walmart @ walmart.com 1. At the top of their site, they have convenient 'value of the day' and 'back to college' ads that link to well-selling products. 2. They have a 'find in store' link by each product, to make it convenient for customers to pick up their item in store on the same day (if they don't want to wait for it to be shipped). 3. They offer free shipping on their most popular items. Right now, when everyone is buying college supplies, they're offering free shipping on those items. |
Got yours up on the front page now, Siri. 8D
|
It's sweet that bear stays up til 3AM to help out, lol.. Poor thing
edit: Go artists! You guys are on fire today! |
I know, right? She did go to bed already, though, right? O__O;;;
|
Man... I think I'm getting too into this... my web page isn't perfect.
|
Oh, um, Mai, can we use pictures for the banners? O:
EDIT: Also, can I still submit it if other members do a few banners as well? |
BACKSTAGE ASSIGNMENTS:
Team Name: Artists Task #: 3 Assignment: Supposing that Itsuna has a wardrobe problem (a tear in her dress for a play) and is crying about it, refusing to perform, I would respond in the following manner: Good morning, Itsuna. How are you feeling? Please don't cry about this--everyone is really upset about what happened. Honestly, your costume really doesn't look that bad. Since it's the third bottom frill in the back of your dress that tore, I doubt that anyone in will be able to notice. To be honest, I can barely see it when I'm standing right next to you, so I doubt that anyone will be able to see it from the audience. The closest seats are still relatively far from the stage. And actually, I think we stand a chance at helping your out before the play starts. As you know, Miro is great at designing, so I've already gone ahead and asked her to come up with something that could cover up the tear. Unfortunately, we don't have much time and everyone is really busy. Realistically, she might not be able to get anything done. If this happens, you'll have to perform as you are right now. Remember, you did sign on to our team and you made a commitment to perform. It would be unprofessional to back down on your promise right now, especially since we don't have anyone able to replace you. If you quit, we'll have to cancel the entire play and everyone that has been looking forward to seeing us perform will be disappointed. So again, I really am sorry about your dress. If it seems like we don't care, it's simply because we don't have much time right now and we need to focus on our backstage preparations. We can't let ourselves be distracted by relatively minor problems. Will you be able to focus on your task right now? We've got a twenty minutes left before curtain call. Perhaps you should go see if you can help Miro with her tasks so that she will have time to fix your dress. And please let me know if you need any help! Word Count: 335 words |
What are the prerequisites for BA#8? I can't figure out if I just am not reading #8 right or if I'm missing something in the rest of the assignments :gonk:
|
I'm a bit confused by that one too. Here's my best interpretation. After we've designed our team costumes, we need to pick a time period. Find a picture of clothes from that time period and alter them to fit with our costume designs. Finally, take a picture of the best outfit we can create from our own wardrobe that fits that style? EDIT: Also, are we allowed to help each other out with the promotional tasks? Or does each task have to be done by a single member like the backstage assignments? |
Quote:
Only one person can make all of the banners and submit the task. I won't take it any other way. Quote:
Siri, each member has to do a promotional task by themselves. The difference between the B.A. and P.S. are that one person can do more than one P.S. |
I just want to make sure that there's no other parts where we already designed the costumes. That's kindof what it sounded like, was that we had to design the costumes first (for one backstage assignment), then re-design them using the time period (for #8).
But, I don't see anything else about costume design except for the pet >3>;; |
