Katie watched him cough up the black liquid and nodded a little." You don't have to explain.." She said, giving him a small hug. She hadn't wanted him to die so she was just happy." Thank you for not leaving me.." She trailed off, knowing that sounded selfish, but she liked this boy and to see him die would've probably made her flip out like she had when her father would hit her. "But if you want to be with your sister you can.." She stood up and gave him a small towel to clean his face. She made him lay back and sat the bucket up by him on the bed." Try not to move so much, it'll just make you feel worse." She said, brushing her bangs out of her face." You can stay with me if you want..or I can help you back to your room.." She said, not really wanting him to leave since he was so sick.

Derric smiled faintly, his skin was slowly regaining color. "I wanna stay in here.." He said softly as he wiped his face with the towel. "Terra was the only one that really could help me with problems, deep down, when I was upset and no one really knew. But she did, and she would always try to make everything better. But mom and dad didn't like that her and I were so close, they really hated her- they even tried throwing her out when I was only 4 she was 10." He frowned and looked over to the bucket then put it down beside the bed and laid back "I don't know why, they said she was a 'devil' child.. She was always nice- it was mom and dad- and everyone else that were mean.. She would ignore every type of pain, or hurt that they put her through- and it would just make them even more angry.." He whispered

She frowned a little for Terra." Parents are like that sometimes.." She twitched a little at the thought of stabbing her father to death. She glanced at his skin regaining color and then gave him a small kiss on the side of his face, blushing a little since she had done it at random." I'm sorry that happened to Terra, no one deserves that." She said, laying down on the floor by the bed and looking up at the ceiling.

Derric sighed a bit and closed his eyes "there was something she said, I mean, before I was conscientious.." He held his hands onto his chest "it had something to do with this carving and her burning.." He thought about it and then looked at Katie, whom was laying on the ground "I can't shake off this weird feeling" He said with a slight frown "I.. Know I'm sick and all, but- can you please lay with me.." He pouted

She got up and nodded a little, crawling up into the bed next to him and looking at his chest." That reminds me.. if you want I could bandage that up for you..it won't stop the bleeding but it will help a little." She said, laying her head on the pillow and looking at him."Maybe the carving means something." She said, looking at him." What'd she say?" She asked, glancing towards the door, hoping no one would come in.

Derric shook his head "I can't remember" he then thought about the carving "Well, yeah.. Could you bandage it for me?" he asked shyly, as he slowly got himself to sit up for her. "I do have to say though, it hasn't bled that much since I've seen Terra. It's strange.." He looked over and little beads of sweat dripped from his brow

Isaac thought about this for a second and then smiled. "how about if we play 24 questions. That way we get to know each other." he said as he looked at her and smiled. "so you can ask the first question." he said as he looked at her.

"Okay that sounds good. Ummm. . . . . whats your favorite food." Becca giggled because she knew it sounded silly but she couldn't think of anything to ask.

Katie nodded and got up, going over to the cabinet in the corner. She had watched many times when the nurse would pull out bandage wrap to wrap up a wound or something. She opened the cabinet and pulled out a medical kit. She went back to the bed and helped him sit up a bit more." Okay, this might sting a little since it has alcohol on the bandage.." She said, starting to wrap the long cloth around his chest to cover the halo carve out."Sorry if it hurts." She said, tightening it a little and then tieing it in a small knot." Is that good?"

Derric winced from the burning alcohol but sighed as it was over "Yeah, that's good.." He lied back down and stared at the ceiling "I wonder if everyone else is ok, it's been really quiet.." He whispered as his gaze fell upon Katie "Ellie.. I forgot that she's in my cell!" He sprung back up, but because of that it make him cough. He swung over as he spit out more of that dark red vile, and groaned.

She made him lay back down." I'll go. You stay here and rest." She said, putting the cover back over him." Whats your room number?" She asked, brushing her bangs out of her face and looking at him."Your sick so just let me go find her and take her back to her room or something." She said, looking at Derric and giving him a weak smile. She looked towards the door, shivering a little at the thought of going threw the dark hallway by herself.

"216" He whispered as he curled up and closed his eyes. "Please.. Hurry back, I don't wanna be left alone.." He said lightly, he was scared since Terra was probably lurking around, but also if the lights went out- he would end up having a panic attack. Terra was one thing, but the shadows, were a hell of a lot worse. He tried many times to tell himself before, that they weren't real, but even so- it was one of those shadow creatures that carved this thing in his chest.

Katie noticed that he looked scared and leaned over, giving him a kiss on the side of his face again." You'll be fine.. i'll be back in a few minutes." She said, looking towards her clock. The lights would be out in a few minutes so she had to hurry. She gave him one last glance and then ran down the hall." 216.." She mumbled, looking around and then seeing the door. She opened it quickly and noticed Ellie." Derrics in my room...he's pretty sick. You should probably be getting back to your room." She said softly, ushering the girl out of her room." Hurry before the lights go out." She said, looking back at the clock. The dark scared her because she saw things in it that weren't really there. She smirked when she noticed her room was really close to his. She looked at the girls tag." Your rooms fairly close to mine." She said, leading her to her room that was only a few away from Katies. She peaked her head into her own room to check on Derric." You okay? I'm taking her to her room now.." She looked back at Ellie in the hallway."Wheres you room?" |

Ellie seemed a bit out of it. The last kick in the throat from her medicine she assumed, it had come back much stronger than before, and she could feel the weakness in her throat. She pointed down the hall a ways and shuddered. The hallway was much warmer than the room she'd been in just moments before, and the lingering coolness that clung to her skin like lint on a sweater made her skin crawl. "Something's wrong?" She asked Katie, her voice coming out in a croak. Ellie clutched the chest of her hospital grade t-shirt, and tried to fill her head with positive things from her past. Cool Montana nights on the ranch her mother worked on with her Aunt Beatrice. The sound of hurried feet in the hallways of elementary schools as children shared secrets and laughed. remembering the lyrics to her favorite song.
She was trying hard not to think of all the horrible things that could happen. she didn't want to picture anyone in danger. She didn't want to imagine any more deaths. 'everything is okay. everything will be just fine.' but did she really believe that? She was always one for being in the negative, would that really ever change? Ellie glanced over her shoulder at the hallway behind them that was slowly getting longer with each step they took, and saw a flicker of shadow pass the mouth of it. Her eyes grew wide and the panic button in her brain was kicked into high gear. 'What was that?' Then the lights, beginning at the end of the hallway, and traveling slowly towards them began to burn unsteadily and die. |
Katie nodded a little."He's very sick.. So maybe you should get back to your cell before the lights go out." She said softly, looking at Ellie."I'll be taking care of Derric for the night..so just be safe." She said softly." Wheres your room?" She asked, brushing her bangs out of her face and jumping a little at a noise at the end of the hall.

Ellie turned and pointed a shaky finger at the hallway behind them. "Th-the lights! don't you see that? We're going to DIE! there's something back there and it's trying to KILL us!" She tried to say more, but her words caught in her dry throat and she began to cough uncontrollably until her eyes watered. Her final, and strongest, cough made her nose start to bleed. She ignored Katie, and her blood, that was now trickling down her face in two even streams, and grabbed the girl by the elbow, shoving her into the nearest room she could reach and slamming the door behind her once she had barely made it inside. She barely glanced around, seeing a bucket and a body, that she recognized as belonging to Derric, before she began to crawl across the floor and curl into a corner, mumbling softly.

Katie stared oddly at the girl who had forced herself into her room." No ones out there..now whats your room number?" She asked, calmly thinking to herself of all the possibilities about if there really was someone out there. Being scared after coming up with five good reasons she jumped into bed with Derric and buried her head next to his, Even though she should be acting tough since these two were more fearful of the dark it seemed. She sat up, looking at both of them and going into one of her states like she had when she had first killed her father. Her eyes looked sad as she sang softly.

Isaac thought for a moment, "I would have to say pizza, what about you?" he asked and smiled. He hadn't had a piecenof pizza in a while and would give anything to have some now.

Derric had felt Katie by his side, and barely aware- he grabbed onto her hands and cuddled close to her. For once he felt safe, he wasn't afraid.. Before Derric trailed off to sleep he whispered to Katie "Thank you.. For everything" He had a slight smile before he completely knocked out. He continued dreaming about what he had seen before, but this time everthing else was moving so fast, and Terra and him stood in the center of the chapel.
"Derric" Terra knelt down to her little brother, even if he wasn't that much shorter. She put her hands onto his shoulders "There is no need for you to be afraid.. I'm not going to hurt you.." She whispered, but Derric shuttered "Then why would you inject me with you 'Demon Blood' you nearly killed me!" He growled as he moved a bit back from her "there are things that you don't understand, Derric." Terra closed her eyes and the scene completely changed. "Derric, do you know what that symbol is, the carving on your chest?" She asked gently putting her hand onto it, he then shook his head "It's the Halo of the Sun, the order's religious symbol.. The two outer circles represent charity and resurrection and the three inner circles represent present, past, and future." She turned from him for a moment, Derric still didn't understand "I don't understand, what does this have to do with me anyway?" He frowned, and Terra looked back at him "They wanted you away from me, because they believed I would corrupt you. You are their path to Paradise. As long as that seal is on you, you always will be until they preform the ritual" Terra took a step forward but the world around them had been falling apart "Terra wait!" Derric opened his eyes and panted lightly, not to wake anyone if they were sleeping. "She was just trying to help me.." He whispered to himself, he still had his grip on Katie's hands and didn't feel like moving, but as soon as the night was spent, he needed to explain to Katie what was in his mind.. |
Katie eyed Derric when he gripped her arm."Just go back to sleep..' She said softly into his ear and then fell asleep herself.

Derric closed his eyes softly pretending to sleep and waited for a moment. He quietly got up and exited the room with ease. The air around him felt thick, it didn't feel right. Derric looked in each direction to find Terra, but found himself before Alchemy's room. "Alchemy, I need you, and Avalanche, something's gonna happen.. I know no ones really gonna like it." He felt a hand onto his shoulder and looked over seeing Terra.
"Derric, we need to go now" She whispered and hugged him softly. She realized he winced from the pain, and let go. "You need to get yourselves out of here alive, not what Derric and I are about to do.." Terra noticed that Derric was holding her hand. "We have the chance to be free, but Derric and I will be watching over you guys- to keep everyone safe.." They turned their back and wandered off to Terra's office. "Derric are you scared.." She whispered. Derric nodded, but got onto the table without hesitation. "The Alagophotis is still in your system, but having you unconteous and pumping you with my blood, it should over-power the Alagophotis' power." Terra took a syringe to Derric and injected it into his neck, she watched the light fade from his eyes, and she leaned down kissing his forehead. She set the transfusion and unwrapped the bandage on his chest. Terra stood and watched the halo glow a deep red, she had remember to keep Derric strapped down. He struggled, but she wouldn't release him. "It's almost done, just hold on" She brushed his bangs to the side and looked at the carving as it started to fade. "Good boy.." She whispered as she unclasped the locks. Terra watched as Derric sat up and opened his eyes. "What happened.." He whispered and looked at Terra "We're free" She smiled, but it dimmed lightly, "But we're still going to watch over your friends.. To make sure they're safe." Terra took Derric's hand and helped him off the table. "Nothing like being livin corpses brother.." Both Terra and Derric held twisted smiles as they watched security [[if you guys need me to return- as Terra and Derric, just PM me]] |

"hmmm. . I'd have to say cheescake. I love cheescake, my mom used to make the best cheesecake. . ." Becca hadn't thought about her moms blackberry cheesecake in a long time, and it kinda made her sad. She had to fight back tears. |
Isaac frowned when he heard her but smiled then, "okay now here is my question, what do you want to do when you get out of here?" he asked since he wanted to stop alking about anything dealing with her parents.

Becca dried her tears before answering Isaac.
"To be honest, I've never really thought about it. But I suppose I might travel to Europe, somewhere where they've never heard of me, or my parents. To a place where I could find happinness." |
