What in the heck just happened? Why did I do that? she asked herself as she pulled her legs up to hug them against her chest. "Thank you for the soup" she said softly how funny... earlier today I was ready to gauge his eyes out... now here I am hugging him. What's going on with me. And why did he hug back? she asked herself. She looked over at him and watched him.
Theo nodded slightly. "You're very welcome." He smiled slightly, though could feel her eyes on him after a moment. He ignored it, washing the bowls and spoons, then putting them away. "What would you like to do for the rest of the evening?" He said as a sly warning that he was turning around.
Casey shrugged and kept watching him "I don't know... what is there to do?" she asked, her face flushing lightly after he turned around and faced her.
Theo just smiled a little at her. "Well, depends on what you like to do. But, mostly this is a place of simplicity. Eat, sleep, talk, and run around in the forest is just about all you can do here alone." There was more, but that required an intimate relationship.
Casey didn't miss how Theo added that those were activities to do alone. "Well... that's always fun" she commented "I'm fine with anything. You pick, I'll follow" she decided.
Theo blinked, then rubbed the back of his head, like he was thinking. "Well...how about going out in the forest? Kirse can do that too, I wouldn't want to leave him out."
Casey nodded "alright, that sounds fun. Let's go" she said, motioning towards the door. What am I going to do? What is going on?I wonder what it would be like to k--- stop!!! don't think like that, Casey. Get your head in the game, she thought.
Theo grinned slightly and walked up to her and nodded slightly, walking past her to the door. Then smiled and held it open for her. Kirse barked from out back.
Casey smiled "thank you" she muttered as she walked outside. He has a nice smile... oh shut up, Casey! focus! He's just a guy, just a friend. nothing more. He will never be anything more! she thought. She kneeled down and rubbed Kirse's head "hey there, big guy" she said.
Theo nodded and followed her out, chuckling softly when Kirse licked her hand.
Casey looked at Theo when he chuckled and she smiled slightly, standing up. "So, let's get going" she said and started to walk in a random direction. "Do you believe all these stories about the forest being dangerous? I mean... no one ever comes here because there's supposedly some sort danger lurking in the shadows. Do you believe any of that?" she asked, turning around to face Theo, surprising herself only slightly when she realized that he was closer than she thought.
Theo grinned and followed her, Kirse went a little ahead of her in a protective way. When she turned around suddenly, he almost ran into her. Then blinked and smiled slightly. "Well, it depends on where you go in the forest..." His voice was sort of soft, a little quiet. He noticed how his voice sounded, but didn't move, sort of hoping she wouldn't get angry.
Casey blinked, why did his voice get soft all of a sudden...? she wondered "like where? what do you mean?" she asked, feeling her face heat up slightly at the increased contact.
Theo slowly put a hand on her shoulder, leaning in a little. It sort of looked like he wanted to kiss her, but he just turned her around instead. He pointed straight ahead of them and to the left a little. "That's the most dangerous area in here. Lots of wolves...couple witches." His voice was still sort of soft.
Casey's face flushed when she realized that he has leaning in, but she calmed slightly when he turned her "really? wolves and witches? That's what everyone's afraid of?" she asked, trying to sound brave and strong, but failing as her voice shook slightly with nervousness. She moved closer, unconciously, to Theo for pretection what's going on here? she asked herself.
Theo blinked slightly when she moved closer like she did. He heart started beating faster as well. He just sort of smiled a little, and gently squeezed her shoulder, resisting the urge to wrap his arms around her. "It'll be alright. As long as you do not go out alone. And stay with either myself or Kirse when you do."
Casey nodded "I think I'll stick with the both of you, I'd rather have the comfort of both of you saving my sarcastic hide then just one. Goodness knows I'll need it with my attitude" she commented as her hand moved up to her shoulder to grab Theo's own hand.
Theo blinked, then grinned slightly. "It's my fault you're here in the first place. It'd be rude to let anything happen to you." It was meant to lighten the mood, which was getting heavy all of a sudden. He gently squeezed her hand, then moved to her side and held it. "Come on." His voice was soft again, a small comforting smile on his face.
Casey smiled and followed Theo through the woods his hand is warm... I kind of like it... no, Casey! Focus. He's your friend, he's just holding your hand because you're scared. Argh! Why does he have to be so darn attractive!? she asked herself, You're so in love with him, said that little voice, you again... could you please leave me alone in regards to this!!? Casey growled in her mind, not until you admit that you're in love with him, the voice said. Casey retorted with silence, she didn't want to deny it, because she no longer knew if it was true. "So, where are we going? Anywhere in particular?" she asked.
Theo just walked to the right of the place he'd pointed out. "Where are we going? Umm...well, there's a waterfall a little ways down here. Want to see it?" He glanced at her, but his eyes wandered to their hands, which made him smile a little before he turned his eyes on Kirse who was chasing something through the underbrush.
Casey smiled and nodded "sure, it sounds wonderful" she answered, her eyes following his down to their hands, well, I'm not letting go until he does, I kind of like it, she admitted to herself. She smiled and decided to just go with it. I may not know what's going on, but I kind of like it... let's see what happens, she thought to herself as she moved closer to him and ducked to dodge and oncoming rock and protruding tree branch.
Theo smiled a little to himself when she came closer to him. Though he assumed it was to easier dodge things, it still made his pulse quicken. He liked holding her hand, no matter what she thought about it. He glanced back at her every so often. "Does the waterfall sound like something you'd want to see?" He asked again, gently.
Casey looked at him and smiled a bright smile "of course... if you didn't remember, I was over by the lake when you found me earlier today. I like water" she told him, the memories of earlier in the day flooding her mind. "It's kind of funny... we start off enemies... and now look where we are... it's amazing what a death threat does to a girl" she joked.
Theo nodded slightly. "I think you'll really like this waterfall." Even though she joked about the death threat he'd said in anger, he didn't take it that way. His whole body seemed to become slightly sadder, his grip on her hand became looser. Kirse stopped what he was doing and barked, then ran ahead towards the waterfall.
Casey instantly recognized her mistake "hey... I'm sorry... I shouldn't have said that. You had every right to be mad with me back then, and besides, words said in anger never reflect the true intentions of the speaker" she said, reaching out and placing her hand on his cheek to make him look at her. "Please don't feel bad... you were angry at me and for a good reason. I deserved every drop of your anger. And you know what, you opened my eyes. You pushed me from that state of shock. It's ok now... ok?" she said, looking into his eyes and brushing his cheek with her thumb.
