Belle stayed where Daemon had sort of shoved her closer to the middle of Temmy's back, but she didn't really mind. She stayed quiet until they landed, sliding down to go get started on dinner.
Andy slid down to the ground as well and stretched. It wouldn't be all that hard to settle in for the evening, and then she would go back out in the morning to keep looking for a Briar or a Tris.
Belle started working on preparing the fish Temmy had brought back, making red beans and rice to go with it, along with some bell peppers she'd found and cleaned. She whistled as she worked.
"Need any help?" Andy asked a she watched Belle work.
"If you want, you can make sure the rice doesn't boil over, same with the beans," Belle said as she started cutting off fish strips and putting them in the pan.
"Alright," Andy replied. That was simple enough. She kept an eye on both pots as instructed.
As each fish strip finished, Belle put them on plates before checking everything else, adding things to plates as they finished. "Okay, come get a plate and don't trample me."
Andy snagged a plate and then got out of the way.
"It's really good," she commented as she tasted it. |
"Thanks." Belle grinned and got a plate once things had calmed down, moving off to the side to eat. She yawned briefly and leaned back against a tree, getting comfortable.
"It seems oddly quiet around here tonight," Andy commented as she glanced around the camp site.
"I think they're too busy stuffing their faces to make mischief right now," Belle said with a grin.
Andy grinned.
"True," she agreed. |
Belle chuckled and finished her dinner, settling back to relax for a while.
Thomas looked over at the two trainers and grinned before turning to Lucivar. "Poker?" |
Lucivar considered it for a moment before grinning.
"May as well get Daemon in on it, too," he said. |
"That's what I was thinking. You get to do that." Thomas grinned and went to go round up some others for the game.
Lucivar rolled his eyes, but went over to Daemon.
"Come on, old son," he said. "You've been drafted into poker for the evening." |
Daemon's eyebrows shot up. "Poker? Why am I being drafted into playing poker?" But he stood nonetheless, curious.
"Because it's something to do in the evenings to get rid of the boredom," Lucivar suggested. "I usually try to drag Sesshoumaru in, as well. Andy likes to watch if he's playing." He grinned. "Did I forget to mention that the others have a certain fondness for strip poker?"
"Ah," Daemon said, as if that explained a lot. "And you willingly participate? My, my, brother. You've gotten braver." He smirked.
Lucivar tactfully ignored that comment.
"I would say it's your choice whether or not to play," he said instead, "but you really don't have a choice." |
"I figured as much when you said I was being drafted," Daemon said dryly, following him over to the group gathering to play. "Any stakes, or just because?"
"I think any stakes are just between Eclipse and Sesshoumaru," Lucivar replied. "Thomas plays just because, and they dragged the rest of us in because apparently it's no fun between just three or four people."
Daemon snorted. "I see." He sat down between Lucivar and Thomas, getting comfortable. "Well, let's play."
Thomas grinned and knocked his knee against Daemon's, earning himself a droll look, before he started shuffling and dealing cards. |
Andy nudged Belle when she noticed the group gathering for poker.
"This should be good," she murmured. "They dragged Daemon over." |
"Ooo," Belle said with a litle grin. "This should be very good." She grinned and turned to watch the game.
Thomas looked over at the two girls. "So do we get the same stakes as last time?" "What do you think?" Belle asked Andy. |
