"Alright," Andy said. She stayed out of the way.
Belle cut off the meat that she could use before setting out the mashed potatoes and roots and things. "Okay, hoarde, food!"
Andy quickly snagged a plate before moving out of the way. It was routine by now.
Belle got her own food before moving away, settling in to eat her dinner in peace.
Andy watched as Briar wandered up after the majority of the crowd had settled down again, seemingly unsure.
"Go on," she said. "You'll get the hang of things soon." "You're strange," Briar said. "Aren't you going to, I dunno, glomp me or something? Don't trainers do that?" "Crazy ones, maybe," Andy replied. "Ask any of my group, I've never done it." |
"Hug, yes. Glomp, no." Belle shrugged. "We're just like that."
Andy shrugged.
"I'm not really one for glomping anyways," she said. "I had a cousin on the outside who gave as good as he got, so I learned not to glomp people because he would crush me in return." |
"Yeah, no. I had a friend who would full-on tackle me if the mood struck her, and I hated it." Belle shook her head. "I have to admit that's one person I'm glad I don't know anymore."
Brair just looked at them like they were crazy and took a plate, going to sit down against one of the trees. Andy just shrugged and let him do whatever.
Belle snickered and shook her head, settling down to finish her own dinner.
Andy glanced up at the sky when she saw a faint flash of lightning and heard thunder in the distance. She grinned.
"Well, now I just have to wait," she said. "Once the storm is here, I'll go out looking for a Tris." |
"Have fun with that. I'm going to hide in someone's room and bury myself in blankets." Belle shook her head.
"You could always stay in my room, Belle-belle," Thomas said with a big grin. Belle just rolled her eyes. |
Andy rolled her eyes and dug into her bag for her hoodie. She wanted at least one more layer on if she was going to wander about in the rain.
"But this is the fun part," she teased Belle. |
"I did my fair of share of that chasing down that one," Belle grumped, pointing accusingly at Daemon.
"What now?" Daemon looked over from his conversation with Lucivar. "We got rained on." "Hmm? Oh, yes. For about fifteen minutes." "And then you ran through a river." "I didn't think you were stupid enough to follow me." Belle scowled at him. |
Andy rolled her eyes and let them argue. It was kind of amusing.
Belle grumped again before she looked up at the sky. "Yup, it's gonna start raining soon."
"But that's good," Andy said. "Any other time I would agree with you about the rain, but right now, it's a good thing."
"I know it is," Belle said. "Well, for you. So you can go have all the fun you want looking for a Tris. If anyone gets zapped with lightning, I'm blaming you and your Tris-hunt."
Andy shrugged and settled in to wait for the rain to start. Once it did, she would take Briar with her to go look for a Tris. She was less likely to get barbequed if she had Briar with her.
Belle did the dishes and then whipped out her newest book, reading quietly. Algaliarept moved up behind her, reading over her shoulder. Belle didn't even bother to chastise him; he was, after all, in the damn book.
"Damn," he swore, his tinted glasses gone for once. "She learns too quickly." "Don't even start," Belle warned. "There is no way in Hell I'm getting a Rachel. Ever. Period." Al grumped but nodded his agreement. She'd be blowing people up within the first week. |
Andy just rolled her eyes when she heard the pseudo-conversation. About five minutes later, the first raindrops started to fall. She took shelter with one of her bishies, waiting for the rain to get worse before she went out looking for a Tris.
"Have fun," Belle said cheerily as she moved back into Eclipse's room, about half her bishis following her. "I'll have hot chocolate for when you get back."
"You're wonderful," Andy replied, pulling on a hoodie. Once she was about as waterproof as she was going to get, she went and dragged Briar out with her for a Tris-hunt.
Since Belle was being nice and letting him read with her, Al set up the little green fireball and started making hot chocolate for people, putting a spell on three cups to keep them perpetually warm. And he did all that while still reading.
Andy came back a while later, completely soaked and grinning. She seemed pleased with herself, in spite of being wet and cold and shivering a bit.
