Belle snorted and shook her head. "Yeah, I check mine frequently."
"Always a good idea," Andy agreed. She yawned and stretched. It was late, and she'd been out running around in the rain. "I think I'm going to pass out for the night."
"Okay, have fun." Belle grinned. "I think I'm going to be up for a while. I doubt Al is going to let me go to bed before I finish the book."
"Alright," Andy said. "Night." Turning, she went to go settle in for the night. Like every night, Sesshoumaru didn't immediately follow her.
Belle stayed up late finishing her book, and then she got up late the next morning, still a little groggy. She blinked a few times before going to make coffee.
Andy slept in the next morning, snuggled comfortably into the bed. She had realized by now that Sesshoumaru waited for her to fall asleep before joining her, so she wasn't surprised to wake up and find him there anymore.
Belle grumbled to herself as she waited for the coffee to finish. She was still half-asleep, but she'd finished the damn book.
Andy came out when she smelled the coffee brewing.
"You still look asleep," she commented. |
"I was up until sunrise when Al passed out," Belle grumped. "And we still have ten pages to go before we finish the book."
"If you want, we can take the dragons and head back towards town," Andy offered. "It's not all that hard to sleep on dragonback, just find a comfortable spot and make sure you're attached to the harness."
"No, I'm good," Belle said with a short yawn. "We can walk back if you want. Either way is fine with me."
"Either way is fine with me, too," Andy said. "But you kind of look ready to fall over. Are you sure you want to walk?"
"It'll help me wake up," Belle said, stretching out a bit. "Besides, I want to."
"Alright," Andy said. She didn't mind walking. Now that the rain had passed, the weather was nice again.
"Alright, we can get going pretty soon." Belle poured a cup of coffee and put some creamer in it before starting to drink, enjoying the warmth and caffeine rush.
Andy made herself a cup, too, before going around to make sure her group was awake. She wasn't surprised to find Tris and Tia Dalma already awake and deep in a discussion about the tides and currents.
Belle chuckled, since she knew half of hers were still asleep and would be for hours yet. So she took her time drinking her coffee and getting ready to go.
Andy knew her group was mostly awake by now, so she sat down to enjoy her coffee and to treat Kaelas like an overgrown lapcat again.
Belle remained quiet as she drank her coffee, watching everyone else getting up and moving around. That was fine by her.
Andy eventually put down her coffee in favor of brushing out Kaelas. The rainy night hadn't done his fur any favors, so she had to work to get some of the mats and tangles out.
Belle had a headstart on her with Dejaal, already brushing out the tiger to make sure he was clean.
Andy noticed and rolled her eyes. Kaelas had about three hundred pounds on Dejaal, and was considerably bigger, so there was more of him to brush out.
Belle finished with Dejaal and let him lay his head on her lap while she sat and went through her books and DVDs, taking stock.
Andy finally managed to brush out Kaelas and put his brush away. She kept petting him for a while, though, making him purr.
"So apparently we're about ten miles from the nearest town," Belle said, looking down at her dex. "So a couple hours' walk."
