Eclipse got dressed as well, although he didn't go over to Belle immediately. He gave them both a minute to realize what had just happened, and then he sat next to her, just daring the Blood males to object.
Andy blinked for a moment when she realized what happened, and then got up to go find another seat so that Eclipse could sit with Belle. She wasn't getting in the way of that.
Belle briefly debated grumbling at him, then dismissed the idea and just settled in there. Oh well. At least he wouldn't be as bad as the Blood males.
Andy leaned against Sesshoumaru when he came to sit down next to her, and he wrapped an arm around her. It was far better than having Kaelas draped across her lap again.
Belle ended up going to bed early, and Eclipse pointedly shut the door before Dejaal or Saetan could sneak in. Belle had to laugh at that.
Andy went to bed early as well, although she actually had to order Kaelas to leave, and Sesshoumaru quickly closed the door once the cat was gone. She'd known Blood males were stubborn, but now it was getting ridiculous.
Belle got up later than usual the next day, and then she started cooking while fending off the Blood males and Eclipse both. Because she didn't feel like dealing with them fussing right at that moment.
Andy managed to appease her own Blood males by settling in to read for a while, although she still stayed close to Sesshoumaru. She was reading over a few parts of the Black Jewels books, to see if there was any way to get the guys to back off. She estimated she only had maybe another day of having to endure the fussing, but still.
Belle finished cooking and handed out food to everyone before she plopped down next to Eclipse, glaring at the Blood males, who all backed off, albeit reluctantly.
Andy snickered a little when she saw the Blood males backing off. See, they were learning, however slowly.
Belle smirked, rather smug with this accomplishment, and settled down to eat her breakfast. She could make them behave. Sort of. With a lot of forced learning involved.
Andy snorted at Belle's smug look, and quickly wrote a note on a piece of paper and passed it to her.
It's your own fault for wanting three of them. Threaten to have Temmy sit on them if you like. |
Nuh uh! You told me it would be great! Belle scribbled back. And I probably will, thanks.
I told you I would never get more than two, Andy corrected. And that having five between us was an incident waiting to happen. She didn't mind offering up the use of one of her dragons, though. She'd been tempted to use them as a threat herself.
And them being this fussy has never happened to you in all the years you've had Lucivar, and you never thought to mention it? Belle gave her a significant look.
I think they egg each other on, Andy replied. Lucivar was never this bad on his own, and neither was Kaelas. And I've only had them for about a year.
Daemon and Lucivar do kind of egg each other on, naturally. I think Saetan just finds us all amusing. Belle shrugged. It kind of made sense to her, after all.
There are five of them. I know it's a privilege to serve and protect, but this is a little much, Andy replied. But it did make sense.
There's a difference between privilege and annoying as Hell, Belle wrote back. We need to find a way to rephrase Protocol to make it work in our favor.
It should work in our favor, we're female, Andy pointed out. I'm just not sure how, and I can guarantee they won't tell us.
Of course. They can't make it easy, after all. Belle huffed, trying to think of something genius and clever.
Maybe we can try hinting that they can protect and serve just as well from five feet away? Or challenge them to some kind of game. |
I'm just going to threaten them with dragons next time they start fussing, Andy replied. Besides, I think I only have another day or so anyways. I can deal with it for one more day.
Same. And they have seemed to have gotten a bit better with some time. I think the first day was the worst. Belle sighed. Stupid males.
Andy just snickered. She let her Blood males fuss because she knew she really couldn't stop them, and she understood why they did. Besides, she would eventually figure out how to make them fuss from a distance.
Belle settled in there for the night, just relaxing and reading. Hey, she was bored, she might as well. Plus it was Niko and Cal. Life didn't get much more amusing than those two.
