"That's only if we walk, though," Andy said. "We can easily get there faster on dragonback, and I know Temmy and Li Li will be glad to stretch their wings again."
|
belle nodded. "So we'll plan on that once we get out of here. Once we figure out how to get out of here."
"You did it once," Seth pointed out. "And I'm sure he'll have upped his security by then," Belle said. "Besides, there were two of us in a room to jump him." |
"I think the cameras might be a new feature," Andy said. "There's a camera keeping watch over all of our bishies, and they're all in different rooms. He took me to the control room so I could talk to my boys, and I could see every room. If he had that last time, we would never have gotten as far as we had."
|
"So we need something that'll take down the cameras." Belle frowned.
"If only we had a Harry Dresden," Seth said with a sigh. Belle snorted. 'Seriously." |
"That would be too convenient," Andy scoffed. "One of the minions in this place is a Lara, but that doesn't help us, I don't think."
|
"No." Belle frowned, pacing back and forth. "There has to be a way out of here, we just have to find it."
"Well, magic disrupts electricity, right?" Seth asked. "Technically, I suppose, depending on the type and the amount of magic," Belle said. |
"Most of the time, yes," Andy said. "I've heard enough trainers complaining about their things fritzing when a bishie uses magic. Why, what are you plotting?"
|
"Well, if either of you has a magic-user, maybe we could manage to contact him or her, get them to help. Enough magic would bring down the electricity in a certain area, at least." Seth shrugged.
A slow grin spread across Belle's face. "I do have a magic-user," she said slowly. "A demon. Algaliarept. He can throw around a Hell of a lot of magic if the occasion calls for it." |
"I guess Lucivar could technically be considered a magic-user..." Andy mused. "Thing is, I think our contact is only one way with him, and it's from him to me instead of the other way around. And like I told Belle last time, if he was able to use his power in whatever cell they have him in, he wouldn't be in that cell anymore."
|
"Yes, but there is one way out of the cell," Belle said with a grin. "For the limit testing. I'll ask Al to volunteer; he's not an idiot. He'll get what I'm saying. And once he's out, he could be Hell on wheels to try to stop. Especially if he gets a couple of the others out while he's at it so they can help cause chaos."
"Sounds like as good a plan as we'll manage," Seth said with a shrug. |
"I would ask Lucivar to volunteer," Andy said, "but they probably have a way to keep his power leashed even if they take him out of his cell. So he'd have to be busted out first."
|
"Well, we'll hope I go first and I can manage to get the point across to Al. He should pick up on it, though." Belle frowned for a moment before she shook her head. "And hopefully not too many people will get hurt. He has a, ah, rather explosive kind of magic, generally."
Seth snorted. "That sounds fun." "More like dangerous." |
"We can worry about that once we're sure we're getting out," Andy said. "I think Lucivar knows a bit of healing Craft, at least enough to keep us in one piece until we can find something better."
|
"Agreed." Belle frowned a little as she looked at the other two. "Now we just have to actually pull this whole thing off."
|
"Ask if they'll choose a different one of your bishies this time," Andy suggested. "I mean, honestly, if Sess wouldn't argue with me over it, I'd say the same thing, since I don't want this to happen to my boys at all, let alone more than once. They might do it. I mean, they let me talk to my boys, and then they let me see Sess afterwards."
|
Belle nodded. "I'll keep that in mind when he comes to collect me." She grimaced a little. "I guess we'll just have to wait until then."
|
"They haven't dosed us again yet," Andy said, "so that's probably going to be first. At least, they haven't dosed me yet, as far as I know."
|
Belle nodded. "Probably with the next meal, or as an injection." She paused for a moment. "I think I'd prefer the injection. I don't think I'd feel quite so sick after."
|
"I don't know which I would prefer," Andy admitted. "I don't like needles, but I don't want the room to start spinning again, either."
|
"Well, we'll find out probably sooner than we like," Belle said, shaking her head a little.
"Unfortunately," Seth said, his eyes slightly narrowed. "So, now that we have that out of the way, I guess we can do whatever. I mean, no one's come in to pull us out yet, or anything." |
Andy fished around in her pockets, and her hands came up empty.
"I've got nothing," she said. "I had a pack of mini-playing cards in my bag, you know, the old-school Uno cards? Except they're like an inch tall. I thought maybe they were in my pocket, but they're not." |
"Well, there's the TV," Belle said, looking around. "And playing cards here." She pulled out a deck of cards from an open drawer. "Go Fish, anyone?"
Seth laughed a little. |
"Better than nothing," Andy said. "Your idea, so you deal first."
|
Belle shuffled the cards and then dealt them with a faint smile. They spent the next two hours playing the game, until they were escorted back to their rooms.
The scientist went around and gave Seth and Belle each a shot. Then he got to Andy's room, a new syringe in his hand, watching her. |
Andy eyed the syringe warily. After a second, she sighed, resigned. She'd treat it like every other time she had to get a shot: Not looking and trying not to think about it. Hopefully, he wouldn't tell her when he was about to stick her with it, either, because if he told her, she wasn't sure if she'd be able to resist the urge to jerk away.
