"I had a dog and three cats, on the outside," Andy said. "We rescued a rabbit once, but we let him go after a few days."
Seth nodded. "Rabbits are a lot of work. I had to help take care of them, so."
"He escaped twice before we finally released him outside," Andy said. "After that, we stuck to cats and dogs." Absently, she checked her gear to see if Belle had called yet.
"Ah. Yeah. Come on, let's walk around a bit. See if there's anyone else to be seen in the area." Seth started walking, glancing back at her. Belle had not called yet.
"Sounds good to me," Andy said, keeping an eye on her gear. She was debating on whether or not to call Belle herself, but she wasn't sure whether she'd get yelled at for it or not.
Seth continued walking, just looking around and taking his time.
Andy was just following him for a bit when she heard a sound off to the side. Instantly, she whipped around, more out of reflex than anything else. She didn't see anyone when she looked, but that didn't mean that nobody was there. Reaching to her belt, she grabbed one of her empty balls, just in case.
Seth didn't notice, continuing to stroll along quite happily oblivious.
Andy crept to where she heard the sound, and she was slightly surprised to find a little stream. By the look of it, from what she could see, it flowed straight to the shore. She crouched down a little behind a bush when she saw someone by the stream, with their back to her. From behind, the person looked familiar... Andy jumped a bit and nearly shrieked when a round white crab scuttled past her hiding place. It was definitely more out of surprise than fear, and as she tried to calm her suddenly racing heart, she stood up to get a better angle and threw the empty ball. She wasn't sure how long she watched it shake before it stopped. Gingerly, she picked it up as her dex beeped at her to register the catch. She ignored it for the moment and made her way back to the path.
"Seth?" she called. She didn't see him, but he couldn't be that much further ahead of him. "Where'd you manage to get to?" The bishiball shook in her hand a bit, seemingly impatient. "Alright, alright..." Tossing it into the air, she let out her new catch. "And who are you?" the Tia Dalma asked, her speech heavily accented. Andy grinned. Speak of the devil... "Andrea," she replied. "Man, we must be closer to Pirates than we thought..." "I take it you are the one who captured me," Tia Dalma said. Andy nodded. "Yeah, that was me," she replied. "Though it almost didn't work. That crab freaked me out for a minute." Tia Dalma looked amused, but didn't say anything else, seemingly content with the answers. |
Seth heard his name being called and sighed, figuring Andy got lost, and turned around to go back and find her. He stopped when he saw the Tia Dalma, whistling lowly.
"Wow. Nice." |
Andy grinned.
"I'm thinking we're closer to Pirates than we thought," she said. She ignored her dex as it beeped at her again, reminding her that it had information to give and a catch to record. Instead, she checked her gear again to see if Belle had called. "I'm not sure whether to start being worried or not that I haven't gotten a call yet," she commented. |
"I don't know." Seth frowned. "I mean, we have been gone for a little while. Maybe try calling her and see if she picks up?"
"I was just thinking that," Andy agreed. Opening her gear, she commanded it to contact Belle and waited for the other trainer to pick up.
Belle picked up a few rings later. "Hey," she said, looking down at her gear. "Sorry I haven't called. I took Thomas and Lucifer and we went for a walk. we're about..."
"Half a mile," Thomas interjected. "We're half a mile away from camp. And I can still hear those three arguing." "Yea. I think we're gonna just look around, maybe find some fruits or things for later on." Belle shrugged. |
"Alright," Andy replied. "We're contemplating coming back, since we've been wandering around for a while. We've got a couple of new additions to our motley group, so I'm thinking we'll be back soon."
"Alright," Belle said. "I'll see you back at camp sometime later, then."
"Alright," Andy replied. "See you later, then." Disconnecting the call, she slipped her gear into her pocket.
"We heading back now?" Seth asked, looking over at her from where he'd been investigating some berries hanging from a tree.
"If you want to," Andy said. "Apparently, the arguing can be heard for at least a half-mile out, so I'm content to wait a bit."
"Yeah, no." Seth poked at one of the berries. "Hey, you think these are edible?"
"I have no idea," Andy replied. "Why are you asking me?"
"They are," Tia Dalma said, nodding. She had one of her crabs in her hand, and was petting it absently. Andy didn't really want to think about where it came from. |
"Great. Thanks." Seth nodded to Tia Dalma and started picking the berries, putting them in a ziploc bag to take back to camp. "Belle might find something to do with these."
"If her bishies ever stop yelling at one another," Andy pointed out. "I'm just hoping neither of them brings out the big guns, or we may not have a camp to go back TO."
"I'm pretty sure they won't. I mean, they know that would piss off Belle, and I'm fairly sure none of them want to do that." Seth filled two sandwich bags with the berries, putting them in his pack.
"Belle's not even at camp," Andy said. "She's got at least Thomas with her, and I'm not sure who else. They said they're about half a mile away from camp, and they can still hear the yelling. That's kind of impressive."
