"Oh it's so great. You have to watch it sometime. Really." Belle shook her head a little.
"I'll have to try to get my hands on the series somehow," Andy agreed. "It's so unreliable here, though. Things only get streamed in from the outside in chunks, after all."
"I have season 1 already. I managed to snag it." Belle grinned. "And we can work from there."
"There's only a season and a half of Warehouse, so far," Andy said. "I watch it in batches of like five, since that's the only way it streams here is in groups. Books are far more reliable, since series usually come out one book a year or so."
"Yeah really. We like books. Books are good."
"I agree," Andy said. "I'm working on a few different series, ever so slowly. I think on three of them, I'm waiting for a new volume, and on the last I'm waiting till I actually have a good amount of spending money."
"I know the feeling," Belle said sympathetically. "I usually spend a lot of money on books, a few DVDs and CDs, more books, and clothes. You wouldn't believe how many pairs of jeans I've ripped to shreds."
"I'll believe it," Andy said. "My jeans wear out really fast, since I ride dragons. Temmy's scales cut through at least two pairs of my jeans, and Li Li's scales have done the same." Grinning, she reached up and patted Temeraire's hide. "Isn't that right, Temmy?"
"I still do not understand why humans insist on such flimsy clothing," Temeraire replied, slightly distracted. Andy looked up at him. He was gazing out over the shore, and when she looked, she saw Lien bathing in the seawater. She grinned. "Go and join her, if you want," she said. Temeraire looked down at her in surprise. "You do not mind?" "Temmy, really. I'm not blind," she replied, leaning forward so she wouldn't fall backward if he got up. "Go on." Temeraire looked a bit embarassed, but got up all the same. |
Belle chuckled and shook her head, grinning. "If you end up with an egg from them I'm going to laugh."
"At this point, I think it's inevitable," Andy replied. "It's only a matter of time, I think."
Belle couldn't help but snicker as a thought occured to her. "Then they'll have a black and white splotched baby and you can name him or her Cow."
Andy couldn't help but giggle.
"As amusing as that would be," she said, "I think not." |
"Aww," Belle pouted. "Oh well. I'll have to come up with other ridiculous names, then."
Andy grinned and rolled her eyes.
"Yeah, I dare you to try to get such names past Lien," she said. |
Belle snickered. "I never said I'd put them up for serious consideration, just that I'd have to think of them. It is, after all, my obligation to think of such funny and ridiculous names."
Andy grinned.
"Yeah, yeah," she said. "If they ever managed to produce an egg, I'd have to think of a nickname anyways, to tell the little one apart from one of the parents, since it will either be a Temeraire or a Lien." |
"See? This is where I come in, as the honorary silly nickname maker." Belle grinned broadly.
Andy rolled her eyes and laughed.
"You have fun with that, then," she said. |
"Oh I will." Belle grinned and settled back. "So you guys just wanna chill here for the rest of the day or actually start moving?"
"What did you have in mind for the second option?" Andy asked. "Because depending on the answer, I may have to opt for chilling here."
"I didn't have anything in mind, thus why I was asking you."
"I am perfectly fine with chilling here for one more day," Andy said. "I hardly ever got to go to the beach, on the outside, so I'm taking advantage here."
"Bah. Beaches are more trouble than they're worth. You get sand all over and in everything and you have to shower all the time and there's usually a ton of people." Belle paused. "Well, obviously not here, but."
"Yeah, but the sand and the water help keep them scrubbed and clean," Andy said, gesturing to the dragons, "which is a pain in the ass otherwise, and they get to fish all they like without me having to scope out a big enough lake."
"That's true. So it has its ups and downs. Long as you don't drag me in the water or drag the water over to me or anything of the sort, we'll all turn out fine."
