"If the rain stops by then," Andy pointed out. "Elsewise, we'll just have sixty tons of wet, miserable dragon to deal with, since neither of them likes the rain."
"Yeah. Well I don't think the rain will last for more than another day or two," Belle said, glancing over at Acheron. He merely smirked and shrugged, settling down to lounge. She rolled her eyes at him and sat on her bed again next to Eclipse.
"We'll see," Andy replied. She didn't mind the rain, if she wasn't walking in it. Usually she just had everyone settle into camp on rainy days, since she had no intention of trudging through mud or anything.
"So, what shall we do now?" Belle leaned back against Eclipse, pulling over her pad of paper again, and started jotting things down.
"It's getting late, maybe we should see about getting some sleep," Andy suggested. They'd gotten an early start, and tomorrow was looking like it would be busy, if nothing else.
"Sounds good to me." Belle got up after a minute. "If you want to stay in here you're more than welcome to. We can always shove some of the guys into your room, too."
"That sounds good," Andy replied. She was comfortable, so she didn't want to move. Her boys would whine a bit, but they wouldn't really protest much.
Belle nodded and moved into the bathroom to change and get ready for bed. She emerged a few minutes later only to settle down on her bed again, snuggling down into the bed as Eclipse sat next to her.
Once Belle was done in the bathroom, Andy went to go and change. Once she was changed, she dug Sesshoumaru's brush out of her bag and sat down behind him to start brushing out his hair.
"Hopefully it won't be raining tomorrow," Belle said, looking at all the notes she'd made. "Otherwise I think we'll all be going a little stir crazy."
"I really hope the rain stops too," Andy agreed. She didn't like dealing with Temeraire and Lien when they were miserable.
"Yeah, it's never so much fun when you have complaining bishis with you. I still like running in the rain, though." Belle grinned.
"Temmy and Li Li are spoiled rotten by nature and by character," Andy said. "They make everyone miserable when they're unhappy." And she put up with it because she adored them as characters.
"Yeah. When Ash isn't happy, everyone knows it." Belle rolled her eyes.
"Not my fault I was born the way I was." Ash grumbled. "No one said it was, and luckily you don't take advantage of that. But sometimes you're just a lovely pain in my ass, T-Rex." Ash groaned. "I hate it when you call me that." Belle grinned wickedly. "I know." |
"I think everyone manages to catch that one bishie who turns out to be a drama queen," Andy said teasingly. "Mine just happens to be thirty tons and scaly."
"Well he comes with Simi," Belle said. "She's a dragon-human-thing that likes to eat people with barbeque sauce. No joke."
"Most of the time I don't let her," Ash added. "Most of the time." He grinned briefly. "I can tell you're doing your creepy ruler of the world grin, Ash. Stop it." Ash pouted just a little. |
Andy couldn't help but laugh a bit.
"Well, 'meddle not' and all that," she said. "Ketchup, barbeque sauce, it's all the same." |
Ash snorted, shaking his head. "Simi would argue that," he said, absently touching the tattoo on his left shoulder where Simi currently resided.
Belle laughed quietly and yawned briefly. "You should see her when she decides she doesn't like someone. Like Artemis. Simi's constantly thinking of things to do to her." |
"I vaguely remember something like that..." Andy said. "I fell out of the series... and I think I started in the middle to begin with, and then jumped back to the beginning to figure out what the hell I was reading."
"You should reread it from the beginning. That series is good. I mean, yeah, there's a lot of sex, but it's still good. Lots of mythology in it." Belle grinned.
"To be honest, I kind of got bored," Andy said. "It just got so repetitive. I managed to get through six or seven books before I just didn't bother ordering the next one."
"Well as long as you know the basis of the series you have to read Acheron. That book is not like the others, I swear. It's the best book in the entire series. It's also by far the longest." Belle grinned.
"Well it helps that it starts eleven thousand years ago," Ash said dryly. |
"I think I remember seeing a copy somewhere," Andy said. "I think I noticed it because I saw the name 'Kennyon' and went 'I used to read that.'" She shrugged. "I'll get around to it at some point. I still have reading to catch up on. Don't ever tell Temeraire that I fell behind, okay?"
Belle laughed a little. "Sure thing." She yawned briefly and settled down. "Well, we'll see what the weather is like in the morning."
Andy nodded and settled in herself. She was comfortable next to Sess, and really didn't want to move.
