Belle nodded. "Yeah, I know what you mean. Very, very different on a dragon." She glanced at Lucivar. "So we're not about to stumble on the city and get in huge trouble, right?"
"I know where we are, and where we shouldn't go," Lucivar replied. Andy grinned and nudged Belle.
"How much you want to bet the entire place is sight-shielded?" she said. "Get enough Jaenelles together and I bet they could vanish the place." |
"Now that would be neat. And I bet they could do it. Ha! I can see a couple Jaenelles getting together and doing it entirely on accident one day and just freaking everyone out." Belle grinned hugely.
"Hey, since he's going to be our sort-of guide, does this mean I get to poke him?" Lucifer bit his lip hard to contain his snickers. |
Andy couldn't help but laugh.
"I can just see it, they freak everyone out and then go 'everybody stay calm! We can fix it... I think...'" she said. "Get a couple Karlas or Gabrielles just facepalming... And no, you don't get to poke him, or Kaelas." |
"And a couple Saetans busy getting drunk." Belle snickered. "Oh can you imagine how much fun it would be to live here? Totally and completely illegal and never going to happen, but so fun!"
Andy giggled.
"This is another one of those 'life is good' moments," she said. |
"No kidding." Belle shook her head a little and started walking. "Now, we can't ask Lucivar to warn us if we're about to stumble on anyone; that's cheating. But if they don't want to be seen we won't see anyone here. Ever. So we need to find somewhere to stay and hide until we do start spotting people."
Andy rolled her eyes.
"Really, we have a Red and an Ebon Gray with us, you think anyone will come close?" she asked. "We'll see what happens" |
Belle grimaced. "Yeah, I know. Well, if I'm lucky, we'll be able to add two Blacks to that collection soon." She grinned.
"You're speaking fandon. Let me know if you need me for something." Lucifer poke Belle's nose just to make her splutter before he grinned and vanished. |
Lucivar just rolled his eyes and vanished, not wanting to be subjected to fangirling. Andy noticed this, so she brought out Kaelas instead. The cat looked around, stretched, and walked next to them, looking relaxed.
Belle snickered when she noticed Lucivar's retreat. "He'll face down a whole army and do things most people can't even contemplate, but fangirls? Nooo, he runs away."
"Wait until you meet Roxie, you'll understand," Andy replied. She reached over and scratched behind Kaelas's ears. When he was standing, his head was on level with her shoulders, so she didn't even have to reach far."
Belle snickered and shook her head, continuing to walk. "Can you imagine a bunch of little Jaenelles running around? Like how Jaenelle could have turned out if she'd stayed with Saetan?"
"Ohh, I can just picture what the Hall would have been like with an eight-year-old Coven running around," Andy replied. "It wouldn't have just been one wall that got drawn on."
"Oh definitely not." Belle shook her head, highly amused by the thought. "Can you imagine an eight-year-old Karla?"
"Running around kicking people's shins," Andy replied, nodding.
"Not to mention everything else an eight-year-old will do. Like try to climb on Kaelas and hitch a ride." Belle shook her head.
"He'd let Jaenelle do it, though," Andy pointed out. She grinned. "And note that he's not saying anything to the contrary.'
Belle snickered. "He probably wouldn't notice when they were that small. Hell, he could probably carry a full-grown Jaenelle and not mind."
Andy just laughed.
"You notice how much more at ease we are now that we're not trapped in Ephemera?" she asked. |
"I know that I'm a lot more relaxed for a couple reasons. One, I have a clue what's going on, and who we can find here. Two, we're not trapped here and not sure how to get out. Three, this place is just more fun." Belle grinned.
Andy grinned.
"At least we both speak the fandom," she agreed. |
Belle paused when she heard something up ahead. She snuck up to go look, peeking over some bushes. Except there wasn't anything there anymore. Scowling, she took one step, tripped over the hidden whatever-it-was, and fell almost flat on her face. And she still managed to throw a bishiball at the same time and hit it.
Andy watched Belle run, trip, and fall on her face. Blinking, she went to help her up.
"What just happened?" she asked. |
Belle pointed at the bishiball, which was still rattling around a bit. It finally settled down, and Belle rubbed her nose ruefully before she picked up the ball. She released the bishi and blinked.
A big tiger with a green Jewel looked at her, managing to look sheepish. |
