|
I'm here now Clair Bear ^^
|
Lilith I love your favorite movie list!
|
Thanks ^^
I loved those movies. Though really they are like the last three animated movies I watched. It was a lot of fun searching for the perfect picture to use though. |
I still need to see Megamind. But I absolutely loved Tangled! Adored it!
How to Train your Dragon was just cute. |
I loved Megamind but I think Tangled was better.
Tangled was so funny and cute. And your right How to Train Your Dragon was just plain cute. |
Tangled is def' my favorite Disney movie now.
|
hm... it is in the top list but I still love Beauty and the Beast the most, and then probably Mulan, then Tangled.
|
I only wanted the Beasts library... and I still haven't seen all of Mulan.
Ever since that movie first came out, I've always fast-forwarded through the part when Mulan cuts her hair. I don't know why, but I can't stand that part. |
I agree, I would love his library.
Really the reading thing is the main reason I like that movie. Plus I think Gaston is super funny. Mulan holds a special place in my heart because it is the only Disney princess-ish movie I ever managed to talk my dad into seeing at the movies. |
Beauty and the beast is my favorite....followed closely by The Little Mermaid.
Tangled looks super funny though....and How to Train your Dragon was like OMG Love. It was ADORABLE. |
I like them all, I can't wait to see Tangled next week!
|
I've always been a huge fan of Dreamworks.
The Prince of Egypt was the movie I watched when I was suppost to be helping move. lol The Road to El Dorado is still one of my favorite movies ever. The Shrek movies are great. Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron is my favorite animal based movie. Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas, Madagascar, and Kung Fu Panda are all great super funny movies. And then of course I simply love How to Train Your Dragon and Megamind. I think I like Aladdin more then the Little Mermaid. Really I'm just a big kid that loves her cartoon movies. |
Hahaha - I agree on all counts Lilith :3
Though I'm not so fond of Kung Fu Panda and Spirit -- they weren't to great in my opinion haha But the rest are amazing :3 Dreamworks definitely knows their stuff <3 Oh definitely -- Aladdin trumped The Little Mermaid :3 But it's a nice second ;) Haha me too~ They're entertaining and they're great for all ages -- what's not to love? :) Plus, as you get older, you see more of the adult humor that's hidden in the movies ;) -watches Happy Feet- |
@Emma- Really I just like Kung Fu Panda because of Jack Black. I find him really funny.
And I like Spirit because I'm a horse person and it was one of the first movies I watched with my little sister. Yep, they do. I wish they came out with more movies. Really there are only a few Disney movies I just didn't like. Namely Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Snow White. Pretty much hated those movies. That's a good movie too. |
Those are the classics though o.0
The only disney I didn't like was bambi..... |
Haha Even with Jack Black I didn't like it xD;
Ehh - I'm not much of a horse person, myself -- but wasn't really the reason I hated it -- it was just kind of.. boring to me lol Kind of like Black Beauty lol It was cliche and boring :3 Samee haha I didn't like Cinderella all that much -- but it was okay~ Not a favorite of mine, though :3 Sleeping Beauty I rather liked -- but only on occasion~ Snow White -- that movie just drives me crazy lol I like it to a degree, but mainly I just hate it XD; Hai hai! I rarely get to see it :( --- Haha - They're actually only 3 of the many movies in the Masterpiece Collection -- the Masterpiece Collection are the ones known as the "Classics" :3 I think they're actually lower on the totem pole in ranking them :3 Aww - I liked Bambi -- I thought it was cute haha Especially Flower and Thumper XD; The fact that Flower was a boy, just made me LOL hahaha |
I don't know, I think I just don't like those three movies because those three princesses did nothing.
Cinderella is probably my favorite of those three since she actually went out and tried to find her prince but even with her she had to have everyone else do all the work for her. I hate Snow White because I can't get over the fact that she is suppost to be like 13 in the movie. And once again she does nothing for herself. And then Sleeping Beauty is pretty straight forward. She sleeps for most of the movie. Kind of boring. Bambi was ok but not my favorite. |
Hahaha yeahh~
But that's the point of the princess thing love -- no princess really goes out and "searches" for her prince -- they all sort of fall into their laps and it grows from there -- or it's instant and they try to find each other again, but get separated and need the help of others haha It's a Disney tradition, really ;) o_O;; She was supposed to be 13?? Wtf..? She was definitely 15/16 at the LEAST! Or do you mean she was that young in the story the movie was based off of? And Snow White wasn't supposed to really go find her prince o_O; She kind of got him by chance -- it's not like she even knew him before hand -- she met him once XD; Well, only for the big battle scene -- that's about it lol She's awake and pretty snappy for the rest of it, in my opinion~ I just find all three of them rather boring, is all :3 Not one of my favorites either - but it's nice on occasion :3 |
:glomp: Lith-chan
I can be on more now! *dances around* |
@Emma- I guess, but those three princesses seemed to take it to a horrible extreme.
I preferred the ones were the girls showed a little back bone. The story it is based on has her between 11 years old and 14. The Disney version makes it seem that she is 15 or 16 but that is only implied by her image. She has an evil step-mother because her mother died when she was young but the evil queen can only act on her wish to kill Snow White after the King is dead. So the king probably died right before the movie starts. So if she was 15 or 16 at this time the king would have already married her off or she would have been at least promised to someone. But either way she most likely wouldn't have even been in that kingdom. But she was still there. Plus the whole reason the queen wants to kill her is because the mirror tells her that Snow White is now the fairest of them all. But the queen had been the fairest the day before. In the story she became the fairest because she had hit puberty. While she might have hit puberty at 15 or 16 it is much more likely that it was around 13. Yeah, my concern isn't that they just didn't go find their princes. It is that they just sat until their princes showed up. I mean those three are known for helping and cleaning. But they didn't even do that. They had little animal friends that cleaned, cooked, and sewed. If a mouse can figure out how to sew I think Cinderella can too. Really I prefer the non-princess movies. Peter Pan, The Fox and the Hound, Toy Story, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Mulan, Tarzan, Emperor's New Groove, Lilo & Stitch, Treasure Planet, Brother Bear, Finding Nemo, Incredibles, Meet the Robinsons, etc. The only princess movies (the ones with actual princesses) are: The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, Atlantis, Princess and the Frog, Tangled (while this means I only don't like 3 of the princesses I still like the other movies more) That's great Silver-chan ^^ |
Ah -- I don't know the book behind the movie, so I couldn't have told you that~
I think it was more implied that they did those things, rather than showed~ I mean, it's be a really boring movie to sit there and watch Cinderella do her chores~ I mean, the reason the mice even SEWED was because Cinderella was too busy doing the mending, the washing, the cooking, the cleaning, etc. for her step-mother and step-sisters, so she didn't have time for her own stuff lol It wasn't more that they Haha it's so weird -- a lot of the non-disney-princesses are considered princesses a lot :3 Mulan especially :3 |
I know. Some of the "princesses" you can kind of see.
Like Belle, she does end up marrying the Beast at some point. Or Pocahontas, as she is the chief's daughter. But I never understood Mulan. Yeah, at the end the emperor gives her a medal and declares her to be as a princess or something like that. But I never really accepted that as a reason since she doesn't have royal blood, doesn't marry into it, and never really is accepted or treating like a princess would be. Or Alice, she isn't part of the princess line but she occasionally is placed in the toy line. |
