The Crystal Palace (Open! Welcome all!)
This text is here for the sole purpose of making this post a bit easier to read by making space.
There is a myth that deep into the desolate winter wastelands just south of the Fairyland Border, there is a giant towering Crystal Palace. A safe haven to all who can survive the harsh storms and cold to find it. It is a beautiful place. The diamond spires glistening in the winter sunlight. Magic of an unknown kind radiates off this place and the feelings it sends into one's body are ones of curiosity and power. Now, it is also mentioned in the myths that there is a king that rules this magical palace. A king who has lived in this palace since it was built. A king who shares the same strange magic the castle does. He is cold to the touch and his eyes are a pale-blue as ice. But nothing else is said of the king. Nothing else is known. Only a few have lived to return to Fairyland and share of their knowledge of the icy place. But every single one to return spoke of the sweet, honey-smooth voice that welcomed them, "Welcome, to the Crystal Palace." the voice would say. They all knew it to be the king, for the voice was male, and the shivers it sent through those who heard it were like nothing they had ever felt before. So go, brave traveler, and search out the Crystal Palace. |
Rules: Follow Menewsha's rules. God-modding is only acceptable if your RPC has many drawbacks. For example: You're RPC cannot die by normal means, but he/she must be a weak fighter. Or something along those lines. Something to balance it all out. I love romance in my RPs, so have at it! Just keep it PG-13. I also love a good fight, so fighting is also okay. But you cannot kill another person's RPC unless both that person and I know and approve of said RPC dying. If you no longer wish to post, or cannot, simply send your character back out into the snow. That'll make things easier on all of us. I'm going to try and have a semi-literate RP here, so please try to post as much as you can. Going into insane detail is much loved! If you want more than one RPC, PM me and I'll consider it. PM me your profile and wait for me to add it to the "Profiles" post before posting yourself. And be sure to make the subject of the PM "Crystal Palace" or such, so I know. As the creator of this RP, I have the right to change the rules as I see fit. Have fun!!! |
The King of the Palace Name: King Thaddeus LeDroll Age: Lost with time. Looks 19-20 Race: High-bred Vampiric Ice Elemental Weapon: Sword Atk: 19 Def: 17 Magic: Glacikinetic (control over ice) Atk: 30 Def: 30 History/Personality: Thaddeus was given the Crystal Palace as an 18th birthday present. His mother and father thought him ready to care for him own kingdom and sent him to the castle they had hidden away in the blizzarding wasteland. Now, one might think that more of a banishment, but Thaddeus love the cold. He was the cold. One could almost call him a God of Ice. So this palace was the perfect place for him. And one might think this not much of a kingdom. But the creatures that lived in this land were ones of ice and snow. They might not be seen, and they might not live in the palace, but they are there, and Thaddeus is their king. He keeps things in that ever-chaotic winter in line. So along with his kingdom that he had ruled for centuries, Thaddeus has had time to let his powers grow. No one can match him in a battle of ice, for the element bends like clay to his will. Even the castle will grow and change as he wishes. But he is not completely full of himself. He loves to be proven wrong in an argument, for his libraries are vast, and if you have knowledge he does not, he would love to learn. But knowledge isn't the only thing he is greedy for; Thaddeus is a sucker for blood as well. No pun intended. The sight, smell, taste, of blood will put him in a very seductive, soft, sly mood. He will do what he can to get what he wants from whom he wants willingly. But if he can't get your consent... He'll simply wait until you're sleeping. What you don't know won't hurt you. Until you notice the soreness and the bruise. Other than that, he is an overall gentleman. A very traditional-type vampire, Thaddeus loves the antique and Victorian style. Dark, and cold, with a hint of red. Appearance: http://i674.photobucket.com/albums/v...ris/Datari.jpg The Crystal Palace Just imagine a cluster of crystal. Now, take that cluster, and make it HUGE. This palace spans over a distance of twenty acres and rises so far into the sky it can get hard to breath on the upper levels. And the palace looks exactly like that. A giant crystal cluster, just growing out of the icy ground and into the mountains behind it. The only way one could really tell this was the castle they were looking at, would be if they passed through this gate to see it. At the base of this cluster, there is a pair of giant frost-bitten oak doors. This is your way in. Now, the palace looks like you could see right through it on the outside, but on the inside, the walls are glazed and frosted so you can only see through chosen parts. The doors are the same frost-bitten wood as the front doors and you would have to ask Thaddeus if you wanted wooden floors. The whole place is crystal, and you can tell. Each floor is basically a mimic of the floor below it. Each floor has at least four ballrooms, seven kitchens, hundreds of rooms, lounges, bathrooms, and there is one huge library that is a giant book-filled staircase that exits onto all the floors. Thaddeus has that many books. The lounges vary from low to the floor chillaxing spaces to very pristine tea-party rooms. The bedrooms are all very large and spacious. The beds are all round and all have canopies. Each bedroom has everything a bedroom would need, and a large walk-in closet. And most have their own private bathrooms, too. Now the bathrooms vary from large steam-rooms to little just-a-toilet-and-sink-rooms. You name the type of bathroom, there is probably at least one in the palace. There are also indoor courtyards that have beautiful winter greenery and clear ceilings. Many, many of those on all the levels. There are also armories, training rooms, arenas. You name it and it belongs in a castle, palace, or other such place, it's probably here. Now, the whole palace is open to everyone, except for the Western Tower. This tower is Thaddeus' alone and he will rip you a new one if you so much as breath in it's air. It's not really that he has anything to hide, he just likes his space to be, well, his. |

Name: (First and last much liked. Unless in it in your character's nature to only have one name.) Now, you must be wondering about the "Atk" and "Def", aren't you? Well, those stand for "Attack" and "Defense". The little "d" next to them stands for "dice". I'm taking the new dice addition and putting to my RP. This is how it's going to work: You can pick any number you want between 1 and 30 and put it behind that little "d" for example: "Atk: d14 Def: 26". This is how will will determine how our weapons and magic will work when fighting. Any other time in the RP, they are not needed. But when fighting, the roll of the dice will determine who gets their move in, and who wins. Take in mind, 1 is the weakest, and 30 is the strongest. If your weapon has Atk: d30 Def: d30, you're magic must be very, very low. Same if it were the other way around. I'm trusting you people to not abuse this and to use it wisely. If you do abuse this and give everything you have 30-30, I will reject your profile. Here is an example on how I'm trying to make this work: RPC A has a sword with Atk: d28 and Def: 30 RPC B has elemental magic with Atk: d20 and Def: 14 The fight would work something like this: Quote:

Space-maker Guests in the Crystal Palace Quote:

Thaddeus exhaled and his breath could be seen in the cold, cold air. He was in his throne. Simply lounging, enjoying the silence of his now empty palace. His latest guest had died of old age and was now buried in the snow outside. it had been nice, having a guest in the palace. But the silence and the loneliness was also good. Thaddeus did need time, now and again, to think. Just him.
But he wouldn't want it to be that way for long. Thought run dry when there is no one there to share them with. And then you start thinking the same ones over and over and over again and slowly it will drive you made. Thaddeus had actually gone made a few times. He had become an uncontrollable blood-sucking villain a few times in the past. And Thaddeus had to admit those times had been fun when they were happening. But it was something he would like to only happen every once in a while. If madness isn't cured early, it can never be cured. But back to what he was thinking about in his silence and loneliness. Thaddeus was thinking about what he wouldn't give to have a warm woman by his side at that moment in time. His most recent guests had all been men, searching for power and knowledge. While Thaddeus had his blood lust sated, his need for another body next to his had not. He wasn't quite interested in men unless they were particularly beautiful. And even then, he had to really think about it. But then again, he didn't want a woman. A woman that sat by his side would want to stay by his side, and Thaddeus didn't want a queen. All he wanted was some company. And well, he wasn't going to pretend he didn't have those needs, for he did have them. And they were very strong. He hadn't had a woman for at least fifty years. But he wanted a woman that understood that he would give her what she wanted if she did the same for him, but naming her queen would not happen. Not many women woudl go for that. Thaddeus sighed and his breath once more could be seen in the air. He sat and waited. The double doors simply standing there in front of him. Unmoving. The wind howled outside. His garb was one of a Victorian vampire in all the colors of winter. His cape draped over the back of his low-backed throne and his head rested in his left hand, while his right fingers tapped lightly on the icy stone while he thought and waited. He could feel there was someone new in the wastelands. But who, and what, he could not tell. |
Aurora sat in the middle of the field. She had been packing up from the night before. No fire since there was no usable wood around. Not that the cold by this point was bothering her. She had been wearing a very heavy coat she traded from a native. Though why she was up here in the frozen wasteland was still rather a surprise to the female. She had been everywhere else in her life, so why not travel to the wasteland. Not like it would kill her. Aurora could not die from normal means. Hell, she had her blood almost drained a few times, and she only slept it off. So if this environment did not kill her, what could?
Besides there were roamers of a place to the north full with books. Aurora shoved what little she was carring into the bag she had before standing up. Stretching her seemly frail form before walking forward. In the distance she could see a gate of some sort and made her way towards it. It took a lot longer than it appeared. But once she made it, she climbed the stairs. Breathing harsh breaths of the cold wind. She found it interesting she could see herself in the gate. But even more surprised over how blue her lips where. Though if she was still a pure human, she would have gone threw hypothermia. In fact, her body probably was. It did not seem to bother her though. This was much better than nearly sweating to death in the hotter climates. As she reached the top of the gate, she could see something which she had never scene before. It completely stopped the necromancer in her steps. She just looked wide-eye at the crystal formation in front of her. Though she could see what seemed to be a door at the bottom. Someone lives there? She asked herself. More curious than ever. Aurora stood at the top of the gate for some time before continuing her way. Finding her way to the wooden door. The fact they were wood confused her, though she did not think anything really of it. Or at least she would not question it. Carefully she knocked. Wondering if anyone would answer. Though she could not hear anything from the other side. Carefully the woman started to push the door aside. It was very heavy and took a lot from her to move, but once there was a crack Aurora just slid herself inside. Blinking a few times, seeing a figure sitting upon when seemed to be a throne. Aurora was not sure what to make of the man. Dressed in Victorian style clothing, all matching the ice and snow outside. Aurora had to remember her manners though and forced herself in a long bow towards the seemly great man. "I am sorry to intrude." She said to him. Her voice was much like the dancing aurora borilas she was named after. |
Thaddeus could feel the creature the moment it walked up the stairs to the gate that marked the entrance to the palace. He waited patiently. If the person was on the precipice, the must have seen the castle, which meant they were on they're way in. Thaddeus found himself coming out of the melancholy mood he had been in. A new guest so soon after the last. This didn't happen very often. So the king readjusted to an more kingly pose and leaned back to wait. The person was coming closer, and he simply could not wait.
it was when the person touched the doors did Thaddeus learn most of what he wanted to know. the new guest was a woman, perhaps eighteen or nineteen. She was wrapped in thick furs, but it still seemed the cold had gotten to her. But she was still alive. This intrigued Thaddeus. Most of his guests found their way to his doors and fell down near dead once inside. But not this one. No, she was pushing to get the doors open, cold but very much alive. She finally was able to get the door open and she slipped inside. Thaddeus looked up to see a beautiful woman standing in front of him. She had long dark hair and she smelled of the dark necromantic magic. But she was not consumed. Life filled her in fact. She did not look fake and sewn together like most other necromancers Thaddeus knew of. This was new, different. And she had manners. The woman approached in a bow and apologized for her intrusion. Her voice reminded him of the dancing lights that filled his night sky. Thaddeus simply smiled and stood, "No apology is needed, milady." he said in his alluring honey-sweet voice, "Welcome, to my Crystal Palace." and he extended a pale hand towards her. |
Aurora as soon as she entered, she felt a bit warmer. But still felt the same coldness. She watched the strange man come down from his throne and up to her. Slowly she came up from her bow. Watching him right away. He was far taller and more elegant than she. It did not bother her though. This man was probably one of rolity. Though why rule over a place like this she did not understand. He seemed to have a hint f blue in his pale skin tone. Aurora went into the information of her head to come up with a solution. He most likely was one who controlled Ice. It would explain the icey climate and his skin tone. Once the man reached a hand out, she reached her own dainty hand up and took his. Feeling right away how she seemed to be touching ice. Though it did not scare her. Even the fact she had scene his fangs brought no freight to her.
A small smile came to her face as he welcome her with a honey kissed voice. "I thank you." Aurora said to the man. Lowered her hood with her free hand. It was a bit rude for her to hand such a thing up in his presence. "I must ask.. How does one have such a place?" She said to him. Probably making no sense, but that tended to happen when her mind was practically frozen. |
Thaddeus smiled lightly and watched as she watched him. He could tell she was figuring out what he was, who he was, what he could do. He had been watched as such many time in the past.
She finally extended her hand and placed it in his. Her hand was warmer than his, but not by much. He knew she needed a warm bath and meal. She slowly lowered her hood and Thaddeus took in her face. It was simple, beautiful. The necromantic magic seemed to have a good effect on her and his smiled twitched a bit bigger. She thanked him in a frozen voice and asked how he had come upon his place of dwelling. The king chuckled light and slowly began to lead her away to one of the lounges, tell the invisible servants to start a fire for the poor woman, "I have it because it was given to me. I crave the cold." he answered simply. His voice still soft. They walked down the small hallway to the nearest lounge and the fire was already burning bright and hot. The room itself was glazed a dark gray color and the walls were lined with black and crimson drapes. The furniture was high-backed and luxurious, with a dark hearth where the blazing fire burned. The fire was the only lighting in the otherwise dark room and Thaddeus showed the young lady over to a chair that was big enough for him to curl up in, "Would you like something hot to drink, milady?" he asked as he took a courteous step back. But his icy sapphire eyes stayed locked on the beautiful woman before him. His gaze wasn't hungry, simply allured and curious. |
Aurora watched wide eyed as they walked threw the grand halls. They seemed large enough for even a giant to fit into with still space to walk. She was brought into a room. A very beautiful, luxuries room. One she felt she needed to wear a dress matching his style just to sit it. Though before sitting in the warm room, she took her coat off. It was wet on the outside now from the snow melting off of it. Though something seemed to take it from her. Forcing her the release the coat as it drifted away. Aurora was wearing a simple long black turtle neck, and a pair of black heavy pants. She took the seat as the king motioned it to her. Aurora honestly was not sure what to make of it all. All the hospitably.
She looked up to him as the color quickly returned to her cheeks. Her skin was the natural color of a peach, though flawless. Her heard his question, noticing how he took a step away from her. Making her feel slightly more comfortable. She did not have anything against this man. He was being far too kind. Just weeks without contact from any person could easily throw her off. Though she was quickly warming her body, and warming up to him. "Yes. I would love something. Thank you." |
Thaddeus watch curious as she took in her surroundings. He was leaning up against the other chair near the fireplace. She was quickly healing form the cold, and life, real life, was brought back into her face. Thaddeus now guessed she had been human before she took on necromancy.
After she had registered Thaddeus question, all Thaddeus did was look in the direction of the kitchens and the invisible servants came in with a tall mug filled with a steaming coffee. To the girl, it probably looked like the mug was carrying itself towards her and placing itself where she could reach out and take it. To Thaddeus, it looked like a very small ghost-like child holding the mug out to the girl, standing on it's tippy-toes to reach it over to her. You see, the servants weren't really invisible. They were simply seemed as such to those who weren't used to them. In time, if the girl stayed long, she too would be able to see them. The servants also brought Thaddeus a tall champagne glass of chilled bloodwine for him. He stayed standing where he was, leaning against the chair, ankles crossed, his eyes watching the girl in a gentlemanly manner. He watched as she sipped at the warm beverage in an almost greedy way. The king wondered how long she had been in the cold. Long enough for the frost to take a liking to her lips. But to a human, that could happen in a matter of minutes in the blizzarding storms. His head cocked slightly to the side as he thought. A strand of wavy platinum-blond hair fell from the pony it was in and into his face. He looked off for a moment as he tucked the strand back behind his ear, "Tell me," he started, pushing himself off the chair and swirling his wine, "What convinced you to brave the wasteland and come in search of my humble abode?" he asked as he walked around the back of her chair to come and face her once more, but from a different angle. As he had walked around her, his outfit had changed to more suit the environment. He was now in a dark navy-blue traditional vampiric outfit. Complete with a jabot and sapphire pin. His hair was pulled into a half-up, half-down pony, with the same strand as before still tucked neatly behind his pointed ear. ((Okay, have to log off now. Not exactly sure when I'll be able to get back on. Hopefully later tonight, though.)) |
Aurora looked at the beverage as it seemed to stand in front of her. She did not question it. Mistaking the floating mug as magic. Though she still thanked whatever gave it to her. Taking the hot mug in her hands and drinking it slowly before setting it back down in her lap. She could feel his eyes on her, though did not look back. Still catching herself up to what was going on. She glanced at him, taking another sip. Hearing him speak and rise from the seat.
"This is the only part of the globe I have not been to. You see, I do not stay in one place for very long. Not of my own free will, but others do not trust me. I feel strange too humans, and scare most demons. Besides, in my last visitation place, I was put threw something that forced me to want to get away. I had no idea somebody lived up here. But I was sure to see the place from the distance after being up here for a few weeks." Aurora explained a bit. Looking over towards the great man. Seeing his attire had changed. Something more vampiric. Was he trying to get a taste of her? She wondered to herself. Hoping her blood was not the reason he was being so kind. Though if he needed some, she would not stop him. Better than having him do it while she slept. Aurora could only hope he was far nicer than the other vampires who had bitten her. Her small form was completely lined with puture wounds. Small scars at some of the most random points. Though never on her neck as strange as that was. From readings, Aurora learned vampires only bit there when they were claiming someone. Although she had also read that was a dying tradition. Finally Aurora figured she was just thinking too much. Realizing she had been looking at the handsome form in front of her. |
Thaddeus listened carefully and slowly sipped at his wine. So she was feared, chased out, and had as yet one last place to visit. An adventurer. Thaddeus like her even more now.
He was leaning against the mantle of the fireplace and the flames reflected oddly off his pale form. When the girl had stopped speaking, Thaddeus noticed that she too, was looking at him. He gave her a nice smile and took another sip of his wine, the glass half-empty by now, "Well, I can tell you, you will not be forced out of here. I can tell that necromantic magics are about you, in you, a part of you, but the effect they have on you is something I have never seen before. I'm highly intrigued. I've only read of your kind." he said, placing the glass of wine down on the mantle and crossing his arms in a light-hearted way. Then something occurred to Thaddeus: he had not learned this woman's name. He smiled and scoffed to himself, "Where are my manners?" he asked himself in a soft voice. He then looked back up to the lady and extended his hand once more, "Forgive my forgetfulness. My name is Thaddeus LeDroll, king of the palace. And what is your name, milady?" he asked in a kind, still honey-like voice. The servants, seeing the king's interest in the girl, had begun to set up a room for her. Thaddeus had told them, in a form of speak only the servants could hear or see, that this woman would need one of the more luxurious rooms. Simply because the kings wished it. And maybe something near the library. So they went about doing as such, washing the sheets, making the bed, and filling the closet with all sorts of styles. Once the servants could pick up on what she liked the most, they would change the whole wardrobe. Until then, she had a whole rainbow of choices. All they needed was the king to show her to her room once he and the lady were done talking. |
Aurora smiled at him. "Yes, I am very different from my kind. For starters being a human necromancer is something you only read about." She said to him. Not getting too much into detail, though leaving the thought open for his mind to wonder. As he introduced himself, Aurora could not help but to stand up. Extending her own arm. "My name is Aurora Mason. I am from America." She told the great man. Taking hold of his own. "It is a pleasure to meet you Milord."
Aurora stay standing. Her beverage was about half way down, and almost finished. But sitting in her free hand for the time being. The place seemed quiet, but she felt the presence of others. It was a strange feeling. "I must admit. You have such manners. Other beings from your kindred are quiet rude. I Thank you again for your kindness." She said to him. Honestly extremely thankful she had not been talked down to or anything really of the sort. ((Writers block >.>)) |
((Hrm. I'll see what I can do about that...))
Thaddeus smiled a she introduced herself. It was a fitting name. She also thanked him for his kindness and noted on how many other vampires were rude. He discreetly inhaled in figured out why they would be as such, "It is my pleasure, lady Aurora. I try not to let my bloodlust run away with me." he said as he bent down and kissed the top of her hand lightly. The smell was much stronger up close. A very nice smell. Warm. Inhuman. Noticing she was almost done with her drink and that all the color had returned to her face, Thaddeus kept a light grip on her hand and slowly began to lead her out of the lounge, "Let me show you to a room. You must be very tired from your journey." and the fire slowly died as they left. The crystal hallways here high-domed and they glistened with the sunlight that they captured. The walk to the room the servants had prepared for Aurora from the lounge was a long one. Thaddeus didn't say much, but his hand stayed on hers. As they walked he pondered on what she had said about herself. A human necromancer. He ad known of such people, and met a few, but they were all falling apart and reeked of death and corpses. Aurora on the other hand, smelled like honey and looked flawless. He wondered as to what she had done different. None of the books concentrated on what made you beautiful as a necromancer, only what made you powerful. As they walked to the room, they passed Thaddeus' favorite courtyard and a ballroom or two. As well as the entrance to the library. One could tell it was the library from the sudden change in color. The walls went from blue to red, gold, and orange. With some greens and purples here and there. All the walls in the library were covered in bookshelves filled with books. A lonely window here and there to let some of the winter light into the mass place, and candelabras to light the rest of the room. But it was only a glance and they reached the room. Thaddeus opened the door for Aurora and gestured for her to step in. The colors were like that of the Aurora Borealis, but not as bright. The room was actually a bit darker in shade. Necromancers normally took their magic from the darkness, so Thaddeus made sure the room was at least a little dark. He watched as she took it all in and hoped she liked it. |
Selena was angry. She had been kicked out of every home she stayed in. But she could not show her anger to those around her. So Selena put on a smile and continued walking. The path was hard and stony here. Every step made a sound. Selena was dying to get out of this cramped town. All her life she had lived in a teeny cottage in the middle of a valley; she just wasn't comfortable with city life. Then she saw it.
The sun reflected off the side quite nicely. It was made of crystals. The whole palace was built entirely of crystals. And suddenly Selena was filled with wanting. She had to get there and as quickly as possible. She quickened her pace. Her wavy gray hair bounced on her shoulders and her light violet eyes shone with hope. What a stupid girl I am, thought Selena, It's probably just a mirage. Probably not even real. But nonetheless she kept going. Then it was cold. Freezing in fact. It was a dramatic change since the weather in town had been fairly pleasant. Selena took her ragged old blanket and tossed it around her shoulders, shivering. As she walked on, the sky began to turn a pinkish-orange. Selena kept going, too determined to care. It turned dark but still she pushed on. The palace still looked as far away as it did before. Dizzy, tired, and hungry, Selena tripped over her own feet and fell asleep. |
Aurora followed along with him. Keeping her hand with his. Not daring to move it from his own. She did not mind it being there. Plus it kept her moving while she took in the glorious sites of the castle. It was even more beautiful since no two spots were the same. In certain lights the crystals seemed to create rainbows of sorts. Making everything ever so lovely. She had never dreamed of coming to such a place. Still she did not know Thaddeus's true intentions of of yet. She did not allow it to bother her. If she were to die, it would only be a favor. Aurora was sick of living an immortal live.
She was honestly not very tired. Then again sleeping was another one of her unneeded things. Sort of like food, but she went crazy if she did not have it every once in a while. Seeing what he had prepared made her feel a bit joyas. They walked past a library, allowing Aurora to get a simple glimpse. Though what she had scene brought an over whelming joy to her. Aurora loved to learn. It was her very being, even her soul sometimes. She was fast also. Able to absorb information very quickly compared to others. She considered herself a student to the world. Even if that seemed a bit silly. Aurora stopped at the large doors as she opened them. Motioning for her to enter after him. She did, standing in the doorway and peering inside. The woman held her breath for quiet some time at the shear beauty of the room. It seemed to hold the very taste of her name. Though with the traditional Necromancer flare. Even her favorate color. The one matching the blue spider. Her necromancer robes normally held those colors. Black and the beautiful deep blue. "This is for me?" Aurora asked him, taking a few more steps inside. Looking around at the great room. "I love it all." Aurora turned, wrapping her arms around his neck, though quickly realized what she did and back off right away. "I apologize for my actions Lord Thaddeus. It is simply gorgeous though. I can not simply believe it." |
Thaddeus smiled and watched as Aurora took in the room. Her whole face lit up and by her hugging him, Thaddeus knew he had done well. But that didn't last for long; Aurora pulled away almost as soon has she had hugged him and apologized. Thaddeus' smile stayed, "I'm quite glad you like the room. And please, don't worry. I wouldn't mind at all." he was about to tell Aurora that she was free to wander the palace as she pleased, when a servant came up to him and informed him of a traveler some of the snow creatures had found, not too far from the gates. He gave a near invisible nod and stepped out of the room, "You are free to wander the palace, milady. If you get lost, simply state so, and you will be shown back to your room. If you want or need anything, just speak to the air, and you will be given it. Now if you may excuse me, we have another guest." and with a courteous bow, turned and left.
Thaddeus wasn't headed towards the throne room and entrance hall. In fact, he was headed towards the infirmary. The traveler had been found half-frozen and quite near the edge of death. The king entered the white room and looked down on the human girl wrapped in the multitude of blankets. She was younger than his previous guest and had long gray-silver hair. Her face looked thin and was tinged with blue. Her entirely blue lips chattered as she lay there, still out cold. No pun intended. Thaddeus turned to the invisible servant, "How bad is she?" he asked aloud. When he was alone, he spoke to them as such. For mysteriousness, he never spoke aloud to the servants when guests could hear. The servant spoke to him in it's language and told it's king that the girl had very bad hypothermia, but with the herbs and potions they had in the palace, she'd be almost as good as new in a few hours. With that news, Thaddeus left the infirmary, telling the servants to fetch him when the girl was awake. Another room was being customized now. This one was near the courtyard and was a very warm-colored room. One might say that the king stereotyped, but he took what his guests gave him, and tried to make something to their liking out of it. Presentation is half the meal, anyway. As this room was being made, Thaddeus walked back up through the glittering halls to where Aurora was. He had been gone for about thirty minutes or so, and he wondered whether or not she had ventured off to explore. If she had, that mean to him that she was the adventurous type. But if not, that meant to him that she was either tired, or she simply wished to stay where she was. Either one of the choices woudl be good ones, but what exactly she chose would tell Thaddeus just a little bit more about her. And he was very curious. ((Heading for bed. I'll be on again tomorrow afternoon-ish. See you then!)) |
She stayed quiet as he told her what she could do while staying in there. "Yes Milord. I will probably just settle myself for now. I wish to meet the new person soon if that is alright." Aurora said and nodded to his needing to go.
Though she had a grave feeling. Someone in the castle was very sick, and that type of thing bothered her greatly. Though she also felt everything was under control. As Thaddeus walked about the castle, Aurora seemed to know where he was going. It would have been from the connection they held. Him being undead, and her able to connect with his type on a level to which was a sort of high for a lot of his kind. Though she did not seem to mind it. Allowing the mapping to take place. It would help her around later if need be. She opened her closet door up. Looking inside to see all the sort of clothes. She then looked down at her own. Finding them to be less than homely for such a place. And they were still a bit wet. After putting her coat on a hanger, she started to strip out of her old cloths. One thing about being a Necromancer. Clothes was one thing completely looked over most of the time. She changed in a very simple white dress. One that was a bit simpler from the others, but still just as beautiful all the same. Aurora also let her hair down. Fixing it into a single clip. She grew up wearing dresses all the time, and enjoyed it. It was just hard to travel wearing them. She was fine after a few minutes, Going over to her bag and pulling frozen bags out filled with herbs. She was hoping to salvage just a few of them. But knew most of them would be ruined from all the moisture. Slowly she pulled out a small black book. Writing in it as she looked threw each bag. This to her was more important than exploring. If someone were to get sick, and the correct herb be spoiled without her knowledge, it could be trouble. Quietly she went about her business. Hearing footsteps down the hall way. Though she had not seemed to notice. Completely engulfed in her work. Separating each bag slowly into piles. There were about sixty bags also. Even as Thaddeus would enter the room, she would not look up. Not knowing he was there since she was not paying attention to her surroundings. "Echinacea.." She said to herself. Jotting something down in the back book. Then shifting threw it with her fingers. Sighing a bit while pushing it into the upper left corner. Going on to the next one, she repeated the process. "St John's Wort.." |
Now that Thaddeus wasn't worrying about the new girl, knowing she would be fine, he could feel the slight tug that Aurora had on him. Just the smallest little thing, but it was still there. She had to be a very powerful necromancer to be able to that, in such a short amount of time. And with no magic. Just physical contact. That was impressive.
He finally reached her room and leaned up against the door frame to watch her work. It was interesting to watch her work. She didn't work like other necromancers. She was more worried about the life and the freshness of her herbs than other necromancers he had met in the past. They had simply let them go rotten and used the dying plants to raise the dead. But Aurora was a different kind of necromancer. One who concentrated on life, not death, per say. So he stayed and watched until Aurora until she was done. She had been very careful about each and every plant; making sure they were dry; taking note of which ones were still useful; so forth and so on. It was fascinating. Thaddeus loves it. She was more of a healer than she was a necromancer. But then again, necromancers could, and can be, healers. If the magic was used in a kinder, lighter way, a necromancer could be a healer and not a death-dealer. When she was done Thaddeus simply waited for her to notice. He wanted to see what exactly she did about him. She was very different and he, naturally, wanted to know more. He was sure there was a book in his vast library somewhere that told of a necromancers of Aurora's breed, but he must have not gotten to reading it yet. That, or it had been much to long since he had last read it. |
Aurora was far from done, though buy now most of the plants were rotten. She would still hold on to them. Just mark them differently. She had not even realized Thaddeus was standing there for so long. Just watching her. She finally turned her head, glancing towards him. Her face changed from a very studious girls to one of a sweet and kind doctor of some sorts.
"Lord, you do not have to stand there you know. You may come in." Aurora said to him. Completely giving the king her full attention. Working with her herbs was one thing that she knew could wait. She had already marked the more important of the bags any how. The rest could wait. She stood up in the dress she had found in the closet. She looked at his face. Knowing what he was thinking. "A necromancer who works more with life than death? I am confusing you, am I not?" The necromancer asked him. A small giggle rose from her throat. "As I say to all, I will answer most questions you may have have. If you have any of coarse." |
Thaddeus smiled and stepped into the room as Aurora had given him permission. Most of her herbs were set delicately around in an order that she must know exactly in her head. She stood and the white gown she was now in pooled out around her. Her black hair contrasted well with it. He would have never thought her to be a necromancer by the looks of her now. She looked much to angelic.
And then, as if Aurora had read his exact thoughts, he asked him if she boggled him. His smile grew broader when she said he could ask whatever question he might have. Thaddeus had quite a few of those. So he settled into a comfortable chair in her room and leaned back into the soft cushions, "Then, Lady Aurora," he began, his icy eyes looking her up and down for really the first time, "Tell me how you came to be such a..." he searched for the word, licking his he licked his lips as he looked for the right word, "... White necromancer. If you are so inclined, of course." he gave her a smile that looked to be a mix between a smirk and a smile. Crooked almost. It only took him the few seconds it took Aurora to answer his request for Thaddeus to truly take in her form. She was quite beautiful. Very nice. He blinked slowly and pondered on whether or not he should keep the relationship they already had strictly host-to-guest or if he should push to make it just a little more. I'll wait. he thought calmly. He wanted to learn more before he made a final decision. |
Selena's eyes blinked open. Warmth. She soaked it all in. Then she came to her senses. She was in a room (a very elegant room,) and her body ached. The last thing she could remember was stumbling and falling into the cold snow. A sudden thought clicked in her mind. Maybe she was in the crystal palace? The one she had seen and longed to be in? Selena grinned, although it hurt her mouth. She lifted her weak fingers and rested them on her chapped lips. She shook her head. All this was too good to be true. She was probably still dreaming; probably still fast asleep in the little cottage she was brought up in. Selena smiled again and pulled the covers over her head. Too good to be true.
Then she saw him. And everything went black once more. ((Sorry my reply was mega late!!!)) |
Aurora took a seat of her own. turning the chair a bit more to be able to face him. Taking in a small deep breath of her own and exhaling. The air in her room was warm, though still had the chilling air to it when you took a big enough breath.
"White Necromancer?" Aurora questioned. Laying both of her feet flat on the ground and folding her hands on her lap. Much like a noble woman of some sorts. "it started out with just me being curious. Playing with Wicca and witchcraft. Though to humans, it is all make believe. Well, I turned eighteen, and was too far in already. Long story short, I passed all of the tests and because a necromancer. Sadly, and this is probably what you did read about. God cursed us all for playing with life and death. My curse is a bit different." Aurora paused. Looking down at her hands. "I do not age for one. I can not die. This may seem more of a blessing, but my blood, as you probably already know, smells lovely. Because of this i have been attacked and drained a few times." Aurora lifted her sleeved just a few inches to show him a scar from where she had been bitten. "To answer your original question, I can still raise the dead and mix poisons. Though I believe in yin and yang. With good there is evil. And you can not save someone from dying if you do not understand death." Aurora looked back towards Thaddeus. A small smile appeared on her face. She realized she had skipped over a few parts in her life. Though it did not really matter. She had a feeling the King would ask about anything that confused him. |
Selena woke again, aching all over. But still she hauled herself out of bed. She was going to explore. Dream or no dream, it looked interesting and she wanted to see more of the palace.
For some odd reason, her footsteps led her to the voices. People were here. She walked slowly, wincing with pain in every step. She was in different clothing now, not her usual tee-shirt and trousers. This was a gown. A real woman's gown and she was wearing it. A child in a woman's clothing. How interesting. The voices grew louder. Selena was close. She walked down a hallway, peering at each door very closely so she would see any light shining on the inside. Then she found it. With a heart beating like thunder in her chest, Selena gently pushed the door open. Two people, a man about 20 and a woman of the same age, stared her down. Embarrassment surged through her. These adults were obviously having a conversation. But at the same time, she was filled with irritation. There she was, ill and injured, and these people were having a casual tea break! But there was something odd about the man. He looked... different. Inhuman. Much too handsome to be real. Selena quickly apologized and left the room. |
