Actually I would like the 18+ section although you don't get any gold for posting, it would give freedoms to those who want to have explicit roleplays. Of course it would also be a good idea to put up a block for those under 18 years old.

It would also be a nice idea to have the picture of the character along with the post. Of course you should make it so that the picture doesn't interfere with gaining gold.

Ow! Yeah this is definitely a good idea! Yeah it is a pain though me and Siki (HI SIKI!!!) had to take our RP to yahoo and she saved each post... Though we had a few people reading our RP so they were a bit disappointed... As for the no gold thing... I guess I'd have to live with it... Have you used thread subscription? That's a pretty easy way to keep track/bookmark threads.

I like to roleplay because it gives me something to actually do on this site. I don't have normal conversations in the hangout thread as much because I'm totally antisocial. However, when I RP, I can be a totally different person other than myself. Other players and I get to connect on similar interests, which is great, especially for fandom RPs. I've also been roleplaying since I was 11 or 12 years old, so it's a part of me. Menewsha's my main choice of roleplay forum because I no longer visit Neopets and the RPs I'm "active" in on Gaia are dead. Also, RPing is my main source of "income" on this site.

My thoughts on the PG-13 restriction are that it's good so that everyone can participate. Sometimes scenes get really heated so we have to break them up before anything crucial happens. It's fine because I don't do that thing often. If there were an 18+ section, maybe that would be nice, but as we have 13+ year olds here (sometimes younger if members are lying about their age) there has to be a system blocker thingy implemented to restrict them from entering the 18+ section. It would be interesting to have one but what happens to the RPs that build up from PG13 to 18+ and then down? Would they take the scene to the 18+ area for the moment and come back? It would seem as if there was a basic 18+ board, the entire thing would be racy, but at least it would weed out the individuals who are underaged and keeps the more mature RPers in.

I don't have any suggestions to improve the roleplaying forum, though I would really appreciate an 18+ board to prevent minors from posting in. Also, I don't buy mennies so I have nothing to contribute on that front.

I roleplay because it's a fun and interactive way to be creative. Honestly Menewsha was the first place I ever RPed in a forum and is the main site I RP on. I RP on Mene because the site is more community based and it's got some really great people here. Plus I like how response the staff is. I know double posting isn't much of an issue anymore but before the spiffy new thing was put into place it was nice to know you could get a hold of someone to take care of those little mistakes.

I would very much want and enjoy an 18+ section even if I didn't earn gold. I know most people are thinking of sexual situations but having an 18+ section would be great for those really gory and harsh characters and scenes you can't really dive into on the PG-13 restriction. I can think of a few characters I have created that I had to end up putting a curb on because they were a little to aggressive and/or abrasive. Having a 18+ section we would have a lot more freedom. I know most people are saying they would only use it for when scenes got to hot and heavy for the regular RP but I think it could be something a lot of us could use for entire RPs. War RPs, Yaoi/Yuri, and many fan based RPs as well.

Well adding the dice roll ability was great. I am really happy about that. I know a lot of folks want to be able to plaster images in their RPs but that drives me nuts. Maybe instead being able to set a simple 100x100 pixel as a header or footer for each post wouldn't be bad. It could be the image for each character without having huge images everywhere. To me the whole point of having a forum RP is to write the story not post images but I can understand wanting a better way then just colors to show who is talking.

Specifically for roleplayers? Not really.

Not much to add since the only other site I RP at offers less than you do. They don't have ads either though which is nice.

The reason i Roleplay is because it's pretty much the only thing i do on sites like this. I could care less about the events and what not. the only draw back is the fact that no one seems to be interested in my games, which is a big draw back and makes me wish to leave.

I'd LOVE an 18 and over area. infact i'd love it if we could PM serious stuff, because the current rules make PM's seem like they shouldn't even exist.

There's nothing that would make me spend money on this site. i'm sorry it's too expensive to buy mennies for rather uninspired items.

I choose to RP here because it's literate. People actually care about character development and writing out what their character is doing.
I enjoy the PG-13 restriction because I don't really like ERP nor do I want to read it, so I like the fact that if you want to you can choose to take it to PMs.
As for why I roleplay...I'm an English major. I don't need a reason, but if I had to pick one I would say the feedback you can get. It combines the sort of 'what happens next' of reading with the character portion of writing.

And as for the 18+ thing, it sounds good to me, im not 18 yet but it seems like a good idea for others to enjoy and I would like to use it when i come of age.

On the pg-13 rule...well it would be wey less stresfull not having to worry if y poast is R ratted or not. :D

I also think it would be a good idea to add some more catigories for the threds. And as a personal opinion I think posting should be rewarded more generously. :D

I really like Mene as a site for roleplay, and I think the thread options are well-rounded. I second the need of a delete post button, though.

I understand the need for money from this site, Inso. However, to charge for anything this site currently offers for RPing would be a big no-no.

I don't like the idea of an 18+ section, for that's what PMs and IMs are for, and I wouldn't like this to be the site people come to to cyber. However, as a happy medium, people that feel the need for 18+ threads should have to pay some Mennies for them.

I really like RPing because I love reading. I would like to write a story or something, but I'm not that skilled. Having another person to be a character makes RPing interesting, because they stick to the character's personality, and they don't always do what you want to.

I roleplay to relax and be creative while getting some social interaction. I do so on Mene because I feel welcome here and I like the small town feel of the site. I've made good friends here.

Personally, no. If I want to do any X-rated roleplaying, I will take that up with my husband. ^_^ I do think that feature could draw some people to the site. *shrugs* I wouldn't be bothered if something like that was added.

I'm a fairly low tech roleplayer. I do wish there was a way for the DM or storyteller in an RP (the RP creator in other words) to edit within the thread. It would help to be able to correct spelling and grammar in literate RPs, to allow easy prevention of godmoding, and things like that. Things the mods don't deal with because they aren't against Mene's rules. I also understand if such a thing is not possible due to coding issues that I don't even pretend to understand. *shrugs*

i role play as much as i can. i have found its great for practicing my own writing as it forces me to leave my imagination open; specially as you can't really predict how the other rp'ers will move the story along. i choose menewsha for this merely because this site has such good rp'ers.

even if they didnt earn gold for posting on a 18+ site im sure, many rp'ers would enjoy a place that they didnt have to hide and break up the story line in incidents that entail a 18+ scene. not to mention itll help many people want to join the site.

as so many other people have said a delete button. itll make it much easier to erase those awkward posts, or posts that just was a mistake.

Instead of having an 18+ section, it'd be nicer to have a guild feature so that only the guild member that can view the content with the exception of mods of course. And every time a subforum is made, instead of requiring gold, the owner shall pay it with mennies. That way the owner of the guild will use the guild wisely. :yes:

Also, for the private roleplay section, it might be a good idea to create a feature to hide the content of their thread from others. This feature will only allow those who are tagged only can view it. And of course staffs can still see it to ensure posters abide the rules of Menewsha.

I love roleplaying because it's a way to escape the shit that is my life and be another person for a play. Different worlds, different races..

I think that an 18+ section would be nice -- but how do you know the people roleplaying in it are 18+? IMVU, for instance, has a feature where you prove your age with, well, proof, like a drivers license. Maybe something like that could be implemented, but that would also mean there'd be more work to do.

I roleplay because it gives me a chance to exercise all this excess imagination I seem to have roaming around in the cranium. It also provides me with an escape, as I'm sure it does for most of us, but it does allow me to reflect on myself on certain personal levels while helping keep me sane on some days.

I think an 18+ section would be beneficial even though I would only use it sparingly. It would provide the outting needed for those moments in a rp when there are more mature things going on, so I'm all for it.

Menewsha was the first site I joined like this and I don't like any other site as much as this so I've got nothing to say here...

I like to roleplay because I am a writer and this way it gives me practice while working with other people. I use to roleplay years ago addictively but I quit and I didn't find anywhere else I liked besides an old site I was on. When I found Menewsha is RP-love-at-first-site. I like the way the forums are set up and it is very helpful for the OOC forums. I tend to feel iffy about the PG-13 restriction. I tend to RP doing yaoi and that restriction comes in to play so things don't get taken too far. Which is a pain to skip around things but at the same I understand the need for because of the younger crowd here.

I wouldn't mind there being an 18+ area but there could be problems with that. Like for instance younger crowd reading the RPs on the Spy or just lurking in the section like little curious people they are. Would there be able to be a age blockage section? Like they try to get into the area and it would block it if they aren't 18? But at the same time if that happens then you will be getting 13 years old making accounts as 18 years to get around that. When you post you can it on the SPy so maybe the opition where it won't show up there? So it is a good or bad thing to have. Even though I do like getting gold I understand that not getting gold could be a benefit. RPers won't spend as much time in the section where they won't get gold for it unless it is a good roleplay. I still think if there is an 18+ section that there should be seperate forums for each like schools, & etc.

I would like the opition to delete posts but it doesn't bother me too much. And for the things worth paying for. Maybe every time you make a thread you donate a dollar? It would take away the clutter of so many forums and it would show who truely wants to pay for their pleasure of RPing in that section or not. Or if maybe if you want to join the 18+ crowd you pay 5 dollars once a year? I would rather not to pay but I understand the fianical need for it.

And the old site I roleplayed on was all in IM way. It was easier that you can post in two different ways. You posted in regular IM way and then you can post in an action way for the roleplay. It would pop up on either side of your post reading '**ACTION**' which made me laugh since that is slightly like a movie. It did not have Ads. It was mostly word of mouth. You could block certain people, so the ignore button was my best friend, but besides that it was the company I kept that pleased me about the site. But I have even better company here.

Adultadventurers.com is another good site. that one is strictly 18+.
but I do like to Earn gold for my roleplays..

I roleplay because I love to write. Sometimes it's nice to form stories with someone else instead of doing it by yourself. As for why I roleplay here: that's because the roleplay I really enjoy working on is on here. xD

I can understand why the restriction is there, but it can be really frustrating at times. An 18+ rp section would be LOVELY. That way if things in our roleplays get a little mature, we can just do a few posts in the 18+ section before moving back to the regular 13+ section.

I roleplay to help pass the time at work plus it forces me to become more creative. I've RP'd a bit before I came to mene but not much. Though RPing here has helped me go from no-lit to semi-lit. XD

I've got mixed feeling about an 18+ section. I think it would be good if you needed a place for some gruesome violence or if your rp became more "mature" but at the same time how would we make sure it stays 18+? Plus like it was stated before I don't want mene to become a place for people to go just to cyber.

I roleplay because it is truly the only way that I can feed my artistic side and be happy with it. I write because I cannot write the novel I desire. I roleplay because it passes the time, it allows me to be creative, and it allows me to escape into a whole new world just like a novel does; only this time I'm creating it with my roleplay partners.

I choose Menewsha for my roleplays because of their rules. The rules and regulations set by Menewsha allow for my creativity to prosper. Grant it, in some ways it's limiting, but for the vast majority it is truly the greatest place to roleplay because it allows so many things and is truly a PG 13 roleplaying community. I have tried roleplaying on other sites and it just doesn't seem to work out - their rules are far too limiting and not as allowing as Menewsha's. Menewsha is truly the only place that allows my creativity to roam free.

The current PG 13 restrictions are wonderful. They're a tad bit limiting for romance, but they're over all very allowing and are easy to follow by. However, I would like to see the 18+ section implemented for such romantic scenes. Now, I'm not talking full blown descriptions of sex or what have you, but it would just be a tad easier to roleplay the romantic bits without fearing it's overstepping a PG 13 atmosphere in general, if you know what I mean.

I honestly think our roleplaying community is fine the way it is. I think maybe a way to have a profile inserted into a post in the thread for the characters that you can fill in (ex. upload a photo and fill in information about like height, weight, eye color, hair color, piercings, etc.) would be a nice feature - but it'd be rather time consuming to create, I would think.

Not particularly. Perhaps a one time small purchase for the aforementioned profile idea, but other than that I don't really see anything that would require mennies to be purchased. Also, if the profile idea were to be taken into consideration and you were thinking of having mennies used as a way to gain access to such a feature, I think anything more than $.50, or even more than a $1 if it were long, would a waste. I mean, I'd pay a one time fee of $.50 for a premade fill-in profile or a one time fee of $1 for a long profile where you can fill in/add and take a way categories, per OC of course, but I wouldn't pay more than that.

There's honestly nothing in particular I like about the sites. I didn't stay on them long enough to really roleplay. Their rules are similar to Menewsha's from what I remember, however.
The other sites I have been on are monetized, if I am reading this correctly, only by MCs and ads to my knowledge. These sites would include ernya.com and celainia.com.
I have roleplayed on gaiaonline.com, but it wasn't much and it was a longgg time ago. I quit roleplaying there because people were randomly posting in the threads and spamming just for the heck of it and I got fed up with it.
