Salvaria: I don't disagree one bit. I'm looking at what things we could add for RP'ers that people would pay for though. I don't feel like we cater to our RP'ers all that much at the moment.

I love to RP on Mene because of how literate most the users are. I think it would be really neat if, instead of just an "RP Forum" with all the threads, if there were catagories within the Forum so that a tread can be created in a Specific RP catagory like "Fantacy" or "school Based" or "18+" or any other specific catagory. it would make it much easier for people to find an RP they would be interested in.
Mennies: I think it would be cool if we could design a 2nd avatar to represent our RP characters. If I could pay 250 mennies or so to use the "dream avatar creator" to create an avatar based on my character and save it to a specific RP I would love that.

Evermore_112: Unless I'm mistaken about the specific roleplay rules, but for shops and what not it's not against the rules to double post for setup.

Yes, you're allowed to override the auto-merge to set up a shop, quest, charity, roleplay, or Mene Nations thread. :) Or other such permanent threads, really.

Yes the most we can do is to base it off the profile, HOWEVER the profile DOB is set at signup and cannot be changed without an admin later on. This means someone would need to create a new account to view/post in the section which would open them up to being banned for either multi-accounting or providing false information.

So overall I feel a DOB check isn't all the unreasonable, even if a few people bypass it.

One feature I'd really like to see is the ability to post a picture in each of your roleplay posts. I'd like to be able to use a picture of my character in each post as it makes it very easy to discern characters and adds a bit of fun besides just changing the colors of the text to differentiate.

For the creative outlet through text, the fun of interacting with other figments of other peoples imaginations, seeing how peoples creative streaks work and understanding a bit about the user behind the avitar, because a little bit of us comes out in everything we write.

Certainly Id be interested in such a section. Id be interested to know what sort of things would and wouldnt be considered appropriate in there as far as 18+ restrictions go.

The introduction of the dice system has covered it for me. With that, there is a completely random way to structure a fighting system and its outcomes, making it much fairer and more fun.

I used to use gaia for a while, but really, its much the same here and there functions-wise, its just the community that is better here.

Remember though, it would be part of the RPing forum, so it would have to be RP related, not an image dump/link whoreage site etc.

Good point, but there would still have to be limits. Like once it gets a little too graphic or visual (as in the phrasing and writing), it should have to go to PMs or taken elsewhere. There is still a chance that those under 18+ could read it. And fueling the young mind with 18+ topics isn't something I'd be too fond of.

Isnt that the point of an 18+ thread though? That we can put such things into threads? Sure, there is the chance that <18's will get in there, but if they want into a restricted area, the determined ones will get in there regardless, and those ones are usually already aware of such things, hence why they want in in the first place? Besides, if we cant post the sort of things 18+ entails, wouldnt it then be just the same as the PG-13 area?

I don't know. I think it just sounds like a porn site. I don't think someone should post things online. I think if Menewsha were to do that, I might leave. I don't support the 18+ thought.

If there was an 18+ section I would like to see something more then just a profile age verification. Such as a credit card verification or some shit. =/ Have to mull on this more but meh, not all for it. Especially for the mods who have to go through that stuff.

I understand what you mean, there is a certain point where too much is too much in an RP thread. Clearly, having RP threads about purely sexual things is not appropriate

Vexatious, the dice can be used for many and varied things. How i would use them is for an RP fight, to vary outcomes of actions. IE between A-B values on an X sided die results in one action happening, between C-D values, another action happens etc. It can determine whether attacks are successful or fail, used to determine damage outcomes in a similar manner. Its basically just good for random event control, since there was no way to have a random outcome otherwise i dont think.

I role play for fun. I enjoy writing as it is, but with role playing, it's a collaborative effort. That added input, that role that you play just adds to the experience.

I don't RP much, but I do it on Menewsha because that's where I am most of the time.

I do not mind the PG-13 restriction. If someone intends to RP in the forums, they should be aware of it and not plan on getting heavier than that. You can do romance without graphic sex.

Even if there was an 18+ section, I can't say that I'd use it. Not every role play you do is meant to be seen by other people and that often goes double for porny ones.

I don't think I RP here enough to think of features that we could use. I RP in a prose style and as such reply completely on my words and don't need all sorts of pictures and stuff getting sprinkled into the mix. Though, I do think the thumbnails per text idea you mentioned in Wallflowers might be helpful for some, but I'll get into that in a minute.

I don't know why a delete button is such a big thing. We can edit our posts. Why delete them if you're just going to write them up again?

Moving along to mennies, as I mentioned, I think a fee for entry to the hypothetical 18+ forums would work as a secondary preventative measure against under agers entering as well as an extra income source.

Building on some of the ideas you've already had about profiles and Mennies, here's a suggestion Inso. A system where you create a character, give it a profile, character image, and a posting style (font color, font, italics, etc) and then when you posted, in Advance mode there would be a drop down menu where you can select from your various profiles. Then anything you post with that profile (or code, like your [character] example) would appear in the character's post style with a small thumbnail/icon that links back to the profile.

Maybe you could receive a limited amount of free profile creations that you are free to edit or delete, but only have, say, one of them. You'd have to pay a certain amount in Mennies for another one or a package of whatever amount.

Paid items should be a luxury after all, something that you want, but can live without. RPers can live without this, but it would be so awesome they'd want it.
