I've had it almost five years now. So I'm used to it. Its kinda funny though cuz I was so scared of the doctor and of needles and now, lol well not scared anymore. I love when people ask me if it hurts. My answer to that is "Its just a needle going into my arm, no it doesn't hurt" lol yay sarcasm

I have friends that have type 2 so and some family with type 1. It's not as bad in my family though so that is good. I also think I might have it, just not sure as I have never been tested for it.

I hate needles. I was so afraid of my first blood test I got sick >.<

That sucks, I'm not. I was in the military three years so it didn't bother me to much. Just never really been afraid of needles. I also had a combat lifesaver course and had to give an IV. that was so much fun, and I got it on my first try. The teacher said that was impressive, he also let me give myself an IV and I did that on my first try. He was impressed even more with that.

You need to be tested if you think there's a possibility that you might have it. When I was diagnosed I thought I had the flu and just a really bad infection but when they found out what it was I was in DKA. (Diabetic Keto Acidosis (not exactly sure how to spell it lol)) But I was in ICU for a week. Not the best vacation I've had lol. Seriously though, get tested. If I hadn't gone, I probably wouldn't be here.
