There's a Big Bang Theory thread?
|
I posted in one once... but I think it died. I'm sure it'll probably resurface again next week.
|
Wouldn't be surprised
|
I was getting excited, hearing big bang, then I realized you were talking about the TV show. *FAIL*
|
But it is a good TV show at least! (tries to comfort Zaza)
So. Still have not found my cable jack. I'm glad that I have two weeks - it looks like this will be an actual task. |
*watches TV conversation with only mild interest about Wil Wheaton*
I'll rent the DVDs next summer, probably. :) |
It's one of the only TV shows (one of two actually Leverage is the bomb) that I actually follow as they come out. It's so good!
|
What's it about?
|
Big Bang Theory?
It's about four scientists that work at CalTech and are close friends. There aren't just science nerds, but also ultra-geeks as well. They collect comic books, action figures and memorabilia. Are trekkers, play WOW - essentially every stereotype for the word "nerd" that you can imagine. Then a woman moves in across the hall from their apartment and becomes part of their group. It's kind of like a cultural collision show - it's an ensemble sitcom and it's VERY funny. Great for all us nerds out there! Lines like "Damn his Vulcan hearing!" are what makes this show so great! |
^ Couldn't have said it better myself.
Scholar, I think you would love it. I have not yet found someone who had anything bad to say about it. Then again, most people I talk to are nerds... and what nerds wouldn't love a show about nerds? |
True. True.
|
I would probably enjoy it then as well, as long as there aren't a lot of errors for me to nitpick at, :stare:
|
Have you guys noticed that most of these threads only have two people talking in them? This is going to take some getting used to. |
I'm guessing you are from Gaia then? Haha.
|
@Zaza: Actually they apparently have real scientists on staff who point out errors. Even though it's a sitcom they like to brag that their science and math is solid.
@CBrownies: Welcome. |
@Cart
That's good to know then, :O Might have to watch it sometime. |
Hullosies!
Soo...what's been going on since I've been gone? |
@ Zaza: 1. Love the new outfit  2. I would def. recommend it.
@ Taiyo: ... just more BBT talk. Lol |
@Cannabis Brownies -- I love the username! ;-) And yes, of course we've noticed the threads are small. That's what mene is like. If you want a super-fast thread, there are the Wallflowers threads, which always move really quickly. Too quickly for me, which is why Foxy and I started our own thread. And welcome to Mene! If you need clothes, I've got a charity linked in my signature.
It does sound like a fun show. Though -- is the girl a "typical" girl, like, is she their antithesis? That would just annoy me. If, though, she joins into their nerdiness, that's awesome. So few shows recognize that girls can be nerds, too! |
Hm... I would say she's a "typical girl." The whole deal is that she is a wannabe actress waitress that is attractive but not all that bright. She desperately needs friends though so she starts to meld with this group and begins to take part in their quirkiness. She's a love interest, but she starts to love them all as best friends. She's kind of kick ass.
|
I'll have to see the show to decide, then, I guess!
|
Haha! I mean - absolutely. Not every shows for everyone.
Which reminds me that I still haven't found my cable. T_T |
Is it under your bed?
|
Or under your SKIRT? *perv attack*
|
Or maybe your roomate (or one of your dorm mates) hid it.
EeEEEEE! Leonard Nimoy's in Fringe! :squee: |
